While looking for a totally different card, I had run across this one and just had to make it. I am not fond of the house Designer Series Paper (DSP) but when I saw it on this card I had changed my mind about it. It suddenly looked a lot better to me. Isn't it funny how you see stamps or papers and don't care much for them but when something is made with them that is so eye catching you can quickly switch gears? You can see the original card here. There's no instructions on how to make it so here's how I did it.
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
I took a 2" x 5-1/2" piece of the DSP from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack and I taped it to the bottom of the card.
I did not have the ribbon that was used on the original card. I thought I had some retired gingham but I didn't have any of that either. SO I took some dotted ribbon I had and used it instead. I glued the ribbon along the top edge of the DSP. I set the ribbon on top and trimmed each side.
The circle measures 2-1/8" and was cut from black glitter paper. It was glued in place on the front of the card.
The cute characters were punched from two different sheets of the DSP and they were set in place on the circle using Dimensionals.
The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Pumpkin Pie ink. Then they were die cut using a die from the "Ornate Frames" set. Then the word piece was glued to a 3/8" x 2-3/8" piece of Old Olive card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.
The cute little spider is from the "Cutest Halloween" set and was stamped using black Memento ink and was fussy cut. Then it was glued to the corner of the Old Olive strip.
I didn't buy any of the cute little stars so I took out some sequins and added them to the top area. It worked and the card was done.
I think it turned out well considering I didn't have all the same materials the original card did. Who's going to know unless you compare them?
This was a very fun card to make. It's quick and easy too. And non-frightening.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Halloween card,
