Frightfully Cute, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

In the package of "Cute Halloween" Designer Series Paper (DSP) there's an adorable bat sheet with several bats on it. I thought it was such a cute design but I haven't used it much. I'm not sure if it's because I can't think of what to do with it or if I'm secretly hoarding it. LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. My card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of the DSP that was mostly black on the one side. You can use a piece of Basic Black card stock if you like. I was going to until I saw that strip in my DSP stack. It was the perfect size and I thought I should use it up.  Then I cut a strip of the colorful dotted DSP to measure 1-5/8" x 5-1/2" and I taped the two pieces together.

They were then taped to the front of the card about 3/8" up from the bottom. I didn't press down on the upper right side of that strip because I needed to slip a circle under it a bit.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

I fussy cut the large bat and then I saw the two smaller ones that were going to get tosses into recycling because the piece I had wasn't good for anything, so more fussy cutting.

I punched a 1-3/4" circle and I took my blending brush and brushed on some Flirty Flamingo ink. I set the large bat in place on it using Dimensionals. I set the bat high up on the circle. I added tape to the back of the circle and slipped it under the DSP strip until the bottom of the bat was even with the edge of the strip.

Then I brushed on some more Flirty Flamingo ink for the other two little bats and they were set in place with a Dimensional. And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. It's very kid friendly and it was fun to put together.

Frightfully Cute, Cutest Halloween, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I was looking in Pinterest for some inspiration. I found a cute card but it didn't have any stamping on and I wasn't fond of drawing on my cards because I'm not good at it. But I managed to come up with this. I didn't have the same textures, though if I had they would be retired, so I used what I had. Here's my card and here's how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock. I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock inside.

The original card link didn't have much help there. I had to figure out the size of the strips myself. They each measure 1-5/6" x 4". I used Daffodil Delight, Basic White and Pumpkin Pie card stock.

I textured the Daffodil Delight one using the "Wintry 3D" embossing folder. And the bottom piece was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I embossed them after I cut them. Had I done them first, I would have been able to make 3 cards from one quarter piece of card stock. But I wasn't thinking ahead until I was cutting the Basic White piece, after the texturing had been done. Isn't that how it goes? LOL

I took the Basic White piece and stamped the words from the "Frightfully Cute" set using black Memento ink. And then I stamped the candy corns from the "Cutest Halloween" set. There's a set of three candies on one stamp and a single one. I put both on my stamping block and stamped around the words.

I colored the tops of the candy corns using my Daffodil Delight marker.

I glued my strips in place, leaving about an 1/8" space between each one.

The bow was made using two 9" strips of the black gingham ribbon and was tied at the same time. Then it was glued to the top of the card. And the card was done.

This was a fun and easy card to make and I do regret not texturing the quarter sheets of the card stock so I could make 3 cards instead of one. Oh well, that's how it goes!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's easy Halloween card,

Bright Baubles, Delicate Baubles, Banner Year, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I had received a sample package of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and coordinating card stock from Terri for placing an order with her. This DSP was not on my wish list but once I saw it in person, I had second thoughts!!!  Terri has some great samples on her web site too!  When you have some time, hop on over and have a look.

So as I was looking through the samples, I saw this one with the trees and thought I'd work with it first.  It was 4" x 6" so I cut it down to 5-1/4" x  4?  I taped it to a piece of Basic Gray card stock that was in my sample package. I also taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock on the inside (the Basic White was also in the package, it was a half-sheet.)

I took the other half of the Basic White sheet and I die cut the solid bulb shape from it.  Then I took some silver glitter paper and I die cut the snowflake using the "Delicate Baubles" piece. I glued it in place on top of the Basic White piece.

There's also a cute ribbon die and I cut one of Basic Gray card stock. I glued it to the top of the bulb.

The words are from the "Banner Year" set and were stamped using Basic Gray ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus because I had already taped it to the front of the card. You can stamp the words before taping, it's probably a better idea. With the Stamparatus, it doesn't matter if you do it before or after, the magnets hold the piece in place nicely.

I set the bulb in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.  I'm not sure if I like it or not. I don't dislike it but I think it needs to grow on me!

Bright Baubles, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

When I saw this card on Pinterest I just had to order the bundle and make it. There's other fun bulbs in the set so it wasn't like I was just going to make this one card and not touch the set again.  This card was just SO stunning and I was drawn in!!!  You can see the original card here. If you click through the link you will be taken to the original card and you can either watch a video or read/download the instruction sheets to make it. I pulled up the sheet but didn't download it.  And I didn't follow directions very well either!! Oops!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Sahara Sand.  This is a color I rarely use and I have a lot of it in my workroom. It's fun to work with colors you don't use much, plus in cases like that you know you have plenty of that color! LOL

The Evening Evergreen was cut at 3-3/4" x 4-1/2" and the Pear Pizzazz was cut at 3-1/8" x 4-1/2".

The frame was made using two of the stitched rectangle dies and a piece of Sahara Sand card stock.  I used the 3rd and 5th largest rectangles. I used post it tape to hold them in place and I die cut them both at the same time. I set this piece on top of the Pear Pizzazz piece, lining it up as though I was assembling the card. This way I could see exactly where the word was going to go. I added Dimensionals to the back and I set it aside.

The "Joy" is from the "Bright Baubles" set and was stamped using Versa Mark and embossed with white embossing powder. I heat mine up from the backside of the card, that way none blows away from the embossing tool.

Now came the fun part. I die cut the outline of the bulb using Evening Evergreen card stock. Then I die cut just the star using a piece of Crushed Curry card stock scrap.  And the tree was die cut using Pear Pizzazz card stock.  Now here's where following the instructions would have helped me. I turned the frame piece over and set all of the pieces in place.  And I mean all of them. I even lost a few of the tiny pieces between the snowflakes so I die cut some more.  I used my Tombow mono glue and ran it across the back to hold all the pieces in place. Then it dawned on me that the pieces outside of the tree didn't need to be there. So I picked them out and they were very sticky.  Once I got them out of there, I added some more glue to the frame and I set in in place on the Sahara Sand bulb shape. There's a nice die for the layer.  I also colored the snowflakes and star using the Wink of Stella pen.

Then I die cut the bow and glued it in place. I cut the top stem part to 3/4" long. The very end of it is going to be tucked under the frame.

The card was now ready to assemble.  I set the frame in place. Then I set the bulb on top and marked with a pencil where the glue needed to go. I marked inside the bulb area so the pencil marks wouldn't show. I glued the bulb in place. I tucked the hanger under the frame. And I added a few Dimensionals under the parts that are in the open area of the frame. I didn't want the piece to sag.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was finished.

This was a very quick and easy card to make (if you follow directions!). I love the look of it and I look forward to making it in different colors too.  Plus there's a snowflake bulb in the set and you all know how much I love snowflakes!

Penguin Place, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

A switch from Halloween cards. I thought we could use a little break from them right now. I have a list of ones I'd like to make but I needed a little change, so I thought I'd head back to the "Penguin Place" set and see what I could come up with there.

So, today's card is a fun, quick and easy one. It's made using one of my favorite layouts.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Fresh Freesia card stock. I cut the sheet in half on the 8-1/2" side so when it was cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  I folded it in half so the card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock for the layer.

Then I cut the Highland Heather card stock at 3" x 4-1/8" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package was cut at 2-7/8" x 4".

I lined up the DSP on the Highland Heather piece. I placed a little bit of tape where the opening is going to be punched. I needed to hold it in place.  I used a 1-1/4" punch to make the first circle. I punched both pieces together. Then I removed the card stock and punched the DSP with a piece of scrap copier paper behind it. I used the 1-3/8" punch for that. Line up the circle and punch out a small ring. You do need something behind the DSP or it will just rip or get caught in the punch. Then I taped the DSP to the Highland Heather piece.

The ribbon ends were taped to the back of the piece and a knot was tied in the front using a separate piece of ribbon.

Next I stamped the word from the "Penguin Place" set using black Memento ink on a 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock. You can go larger, as long as the piece fits in the opening.  I added a few Dimensionals around the back of the circle and I set the words in place.  Then I added Dimensionals to the back of the card except on the word piece, there I just used tape and I set the piece in place on the front of the card.

I punched utu the penguin from the "Penguin Playmates" DSP and I also punched out one from some scrap Basic Black card stock (you can use white too) and I taped the two pieces together. I just wanted the penguin to have some substance to it.

I taped the penguin in place to the right of the circle and on the ribbon line. I forgot to mention, the ribbon is 7/8" from the Highland Heather edge.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun and quick card to make. This was the perfect paper for this layout.

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

That mean roll of snail tape was finally used up on this card. When I added the Basic White piece to the inside, there was just enough tape left on the noisy roll. My plan was to heavily tape that inside piece if I had to, just to get rid of that tape!  LOL But as luck would have it, I was able to use it "properly" and got to the end of it on this card!  Now let's hope the next one is quiet! LOL

I found this card on Pinterest. I had to do a bit of searching on the site it was posted at to find it. There was no direct link. Here's the link to it on Pinterest, I was unable to get a direct link. You need to click through 4 or 5 pages to find this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic Black card stock for a backing. My piece was left over from something else I had cut in the center. I LOVE it that you can save card stock by doing that. No one will ever know there's a big ole hole cut in the middle of that piece!!

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack. I cut the top piece at  2-1/2" x 3-3/4" and the bottom piece was cut at 2-1/3" x 3-3/4".  I cut mine like that because I was using a scrap of the "boo" paper. I taped the pieces to the Basic Black piece.

Then I colored some gingham ribbon using my dark Highland Heather Blends pen. I didn't have the silver mesh ribbon that was used on the original card. I cut the ribbon into two pieces, one 6-1/2" long and the the other 9-1/2" long. I set them aside to dry.

Meanwhile I stamped the words from the "Cutest Halloween" set using black Memento ink. Then I die cut it using the square stitched die. The candy corns were stamped on it, plus three more were stamped on a scrap piece. I fussy cut the three and then I colored the top of each one using my Daffodil Delight marker. Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and I cut Dimensionals to fit the tiny candy corns.

The ghosts are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. There's a cute face image and that was also stamped using black Memento ink. Then they were punched out using the matching punch.  I set the candy corns in place on the ghost and then I added Dimensionals were added to the back of each ghost and they were set aside.

I tied the bow to the ribbon. Then the word pieces were added. The ghost were then set in place on the front of the card.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make, including fussy cutting the tiny candy corns!

Thank you ever SO much for taking your time to stop by and see this ghostly card today,

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I found another card on Pinterest that uses scraps of Designer Series Paper(DSP).  I've been on the lookout for this type of card. I have SO much DSP and it's nice to use up the scraps!

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Gray card stock. The full sheet was cut in half on the short side so this card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside.

The Pumpkin Pie layer was cut at 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" and the Basic White piece on top was cut at 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  Before the two layers were taped together you can die cut the scalloped circle using the one that measures about 2-1/4". After taping the two layers they were then taped to the front of the card.

The ribbon is the black & white gingham ribbon that was colored using the dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. It's interesting how stiff the ribbon gets after it dries.  Once it was dry I tied it into a bow and set it aside.

The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I used the 1-7/8" circle die to cut it out. Then I taped the two circles together. I added Dimensionals to the back and it was set aside.

The rectangles of DSP from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack were cut at 1-3/8" x 2" and taped to the Basic White piece. I found this step the most difficult because it had to be centered and set on evenly. But I managed!

I die cut the spider's web from the "Frightful Tags" dies using Basic Black card stock. I cut 1/4" of it for this card. I added a little glue to the back of it where it wouldn't show sticking out behind the circle. I removed the backing on the Dimensionals on the circle and set the two pieces in place at about the same time.

The pumpkin was punched from a piece of the DSP in the "Cute Halloween" stack and it was set in place with a Dimensional on the right side and tape on the left.

The ribbon was tied into a bow and was set in place with a dot of Tombow mono glue.

I thought the card could use a little bit of sparkle so I added some Wink of Stella to the pumpkin's eyes and to the spider web. I highly recommend adding the Wink of Stella to the spider web before it's set in place. After works too but it's easier to do before.  And that was it.

This was a very fun and quick card to make, plus you get to use up some of your scrap pieces.

Frightfully Cute, Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I had run across a card on Pinterest and I thought I would give it a try but I made a number of changes. I liked the characters and the Designer Series Paper (DSP). The ribbon also caught my eye.  And this is what I came up with. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Highland Heather card stock for the layer.  And the DSP was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I taped the DSP to the Highland Heather piece and then I taped that to the front of the card.

I cut a 2-1/8" x 2-1/8" piece of Highland Heather and I added some Highland Heather colored spiders from the "Cutest Halloween" set. I should have added more because you can't really see them much. I also cut a 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" Basic Black for the layer. I taped the two squares together.

Then I cut a 3/4" x 4-7/8" piece of Basic Black card stock and I snipped one end to give it that ribbon look.

I took a 9" piece of gingham ribbon and folded it in the middle and taped it to the left side of the Basic Black strip. I trimmed the ends. Then the piece was taped to the front of the card 1-1/4" up from the bottom.  I used the stripes on the DSP to keep the strip straight.

The square piece was set in place using Dimenisonals.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" Halloween set and were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. I die cut them with the die I didn't think I owned and wanted to use on the card I made the other day.  I just don't know what I have anymore!!! LOL The dies are from the "Frightful Tags" dies. I added Dimensionals to the right side and I taped the left side to the square piece.

I punched out three characters from the "Cute Halloween" DSP stack. I taped the pumpkin and the ghost in place and the cat was set in place using Dimensionals.  I didn't have the star embellishments (I do know I do not have them! LOL) but the "Frightful Tags" dies had a little star cluster die so I cut them out using Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black and Crushed Curry card stock. I glued the little stars in place and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and I like how colorful and festive it turned out!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's festive Halloween card,

Cutest Halloween, Cute Halloween, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I was thinking about making another Halloween card using the "Frightfully Cute" set but ended up back at the "Cutest Halloween" set!  Which is okay, I like both but the spider in the "Frightfully Cute" set was too small and had a line attached to it. So I went with the "Cutest Halloween" set.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  The Pumpkin Pie piece of card stock was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I cut a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" square  and stamped the spiders using black Memento ink.  I used a template I had made to set the square in and stamp and move the square so I could complete a whole circle. You can see that template here.  There's links there to find out how to make your own template. I keep my template right in with my Stamparatus. I have to take it out each time I need to use the Staparatus but that's okay, I always know where my template is. I also wrote on it so I know where to place the image.  After stamping the spiders eight times I removed the square from the template and I was ready to plan the next part of my card.  All I knew going into this card was I wanted to play with spiders!

So, I cut a 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" Basic Black square for the layer. I taped the two layers together.

I fussy cut a cute skull from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" "Designer Series Paper" stack. I taped it to a 1-1/4" Basic Black circle. Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and it was set in the center of the spiders. I was going to use the cat face but I thought it might look like the spider was after the cute kitty. LOL

The Pumpkin Pie piece was stamped with the outline pumpkin image from the same set. I stamped it using Pumpkin Pie ink. I taped it to the Basic Black piece and that was then taped to the front of the card.

I die cut the fence pieces and the tree from the "Frightful Tags" dies. The fence is from Basic Black card stock and the tree is from Early Espresso. I glued the fences together so the two posts now look line one. I added glue to the left post and the center post and set it in place on the front of the card. I glued the tree down and then added glue to the other fence post and pressed it in place.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" set (see, I actually did get to use it! LOL) and the were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Then I added the little pumpkin from the "Frightfully Cute" set using Pumpkin Pie ink. I punched the words out using a 1-3/8" circle punch and the Basic Black layer behind it was made using the 1-1/2" circle punch. I glued the two circles together and added Dimensionals on the back. I set the words in place over the left side of the fence.

I thought the card could use a bit of sparkle so I colored the skull and the little pumpkin with my Wink of Stella pen. And that was it.

I had a lot of fun making this card. There's a log going on here and yet it kept it's cuteness!

Frightfully Cute, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Here I thought I would me making another card using the "Cutest Halloween" set but I ended up using the "Frightfully Cute" one instead. I have not used that one much and I need to go on the hunt for some cards using it. This card was super quick, fun and easy to make.  You can see the original card here. I did have to make a few minor changes.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  After I folded the piece in half, I cut off 1-1/4" off the right edge on the front of the card.

I cut a 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6 x 6" stack.  I have not used this design in the pack yet, so when I saw this card I was thrilled that I could play with the skull paper too!  I'm trying to use all of the paper in this stack and I'm off to a slow start!  After cutting the DSP, I cut a piece of Basic White card stock (which should have been Basic Black) and I glued it to the DSP. I wanted the DSP to have a firm backing because I was going to be doing my ribbon a bit differently.  After gluing the two pieces together, I cut a 6-1/2" piece of the "Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon" and I taped the ends to the back of the piece. My ribbon edge is about 1/2" from the edge of the DSP.  After taping it I glued the piece to the front of the card.

Then I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside of the card.  A 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of the tiny colored striped DSP was taped to the inside of the card on top of the right side of the Basic White piece.

I didn't have the same die that was used on the original card, so I found one in the "Tasteful Layers" set and use it. I used Fresh Freesia for my color.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" card and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut them using the fun circle die from the same "Tasteful Layers" set. I set the words in place on the Fresh Freesia piece using Dimensionals.

I fussy cut a skull. I didn't like how thin it felt being it was going to be hanging over the right edge of the front of the card so I glued it to a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock and I fussy cut around the skull again.  Now if you are making this card, cut out the skull, tape or glue it to the Basic Black and then do your fussy cutting.  Just saves a little time.  I chose glue because glue would be making the piece a bit more stiff too. The skull was then glued to the upper corner of the Fresh Freesia die cut piece.

I set the Fresh Freesia piece in place on the front of the card. I glued the left side of the piece and glued it so the bottom of the piece is 1-1/4" up from the bottom of the card. You can pretty much place it anywhere you like on the card. I chose lower because the bow is going to balance it out.

A few black enamel dots from a retired pack were set in place on the Fresh Freesia piece and then the bow was added.  The card is now done and You're ready to make another one because it is super easy, fun and quick!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and seeing today's Halloween card,

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

When I was looking for a card to make yesterday, I had run across this one so I saved it to make it today. It's a super easy and quick card to make. I love quick and easy.  What I also liked about this card was I was able to stamp my pumpkin instead of punch it from the Designer Series Paper (DSP) "Cute Halloween" stack.  And I also liked it that the card base was not Basic White like so many of my cards are!!!  You can see the original card here. The original card is square. I don't make square cards because I don't have any square envelopes so I did my best to convert it.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock.  This card measured 4-1/4" x 11" before it was folded in half. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of the DSP with the ghosts, bats and skulls on it and I taped it in place at the bottom of the card front.

I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Basic White card stock and then I used the "Stitched Whimsey" die on top. I was not thrilled with my purchase of these dies. I have not used them much. I'm hoping to find more uses for them so I don't feel like I wasted my money on them. I think I've used them twice since I've purchased them.  Not quite enough to justify the cost. Maybe I can work it into some upcoming Christmas cards.

I also cut a Basic Black layer that measured 3-1/4" x 3-1/4".

I stamped a pumpkin from the "Cutest Halloween" set on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Pumpkin Pie ink for the solid part and Basic Black for the outline and the face. I did forget to color the stem in. And I was going to use my Old Olive marker to do that. I punched it out, added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside. I did set my piece of card stock in my Stamparatus and stamped the pumpkin three times to get it nice and solid and dark.

I stamped the spider from the same set using black Memento ink.  I lined up a scrap piece of card stock and took my black marker and drew the line from the body to the top edge of the card.  Then I taped this piece to the Basic White piece.  I set the piece on top of the card so I could see where to stamp the words. The words were stamped using black Memento ink.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the Basic Black layer and was set in place on the card one inch above the bottom edge.

The pumpkin was added using Dimensionals and some enamel dots were added. I also added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I love how bright the Pumpkin Pie color looks. This was a nice way to use the "Cute Halloween" DSP too!  I'm not a big fan of the black and white look but here it looks great.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's kid friendly Halloween card,

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I was working on a Halloween card I saw on Pinterest that I thought was so cute. It used the adorable images from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack. I'm trying to make all the cards I can with this stack because I have yet to use up an entire stack of any DSP that I've purchased and I'm working hard on this one!! Wish me luck! LOL  Anyway, I had punched out a cat and a ghost and a pumpkin and I was getting ready to assemble the card when my memory finally worked and I realized I had made that card a few weeks ago. UGH. SO plan B. I didn't have a plan B so I sat there for a bit just looking at the pieces and this is what I came up with.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

On the card I was originally going to make the DSP from the "Cute Halloween" stack was cut at 2" x 5-1/2" and taped to the bottom of the card. I had already done that and I even added the gingham ribbon. I glued the ribbon on because I didn't wrap it around the card, I just glued it and snipped the ends.  Once I got that far on the card I began to realize that I had already made this card. So here's plan B.

I took the one ghost I had punched out and I fussy cut the other two.  I set the top two ghosts on to see where the words could go and still have room. The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink.

The ghosts were set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.  I was thinking that I should have scrubbed in some Smoky Slate on the upper part using one of the Blending Brushes.  But all white will work too.  It's a kid friendly card so I left it at that.

This was a fun card to make and I am happy with my plan B!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Halloween card!

Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today I ran across this card on Pinterest and I thought it would be fun to make because I knew I could use a lot of scraps to make it. I did click through the link but I wasn't able to get any info on the card without registering. Anyway, here is how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock for the layer and for the focal piece, I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock.  You could cut the piece smaller for the top and then be really careful about adding the Designer Series Paper (DSP) but I opted to just use the whole piece and tape the DSP on as I went.

The DSP is from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack. There's lots of pieces of scrap in my package and I was more than happy to use them!

Now going from the left to the right, I cut the ghost piece at 2" x 2" and the other three were cut at 2" x 1". I taped the pieces in place on the bottom of the Basic White piece.

Then I punched out the characters. The ghost, pumpkin and cat are all in the matching punch. Or you can fussy cut them, they don't have a lot of tight curved edges so it's easy enough to cut.  I set them on top of the focal piece so I could see where the words would go.

The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

There was a scrap piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock so I used that for the strip on the card at the top of the DSP edge.

Then the characters were added. The ghost was first, I just glued him in place. Then the other two were set in place using Dimensionals.

I didn't have any of the elements that were on the original card but I did have some leftover star sequins from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit.

The focal panel was taped (or glued) to the Gorgeous Grape piece and then that piece was glued or taped to the card base. And that was it!

This was a very fun and easy card to make. Plus a bonus, you get to use scraps!

Cutest Halloween, Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I found today's card on Pinterest. I just loved all of the elements of this card, the pumpkins, the candy corn and the Designer Series Paper (DSP). You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Pumpkin Pie layer was cut at 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" and the DSP on top of it was cut at5-1/8" x 3-7/8".  I taped the DSP to the Pumpkin Pie piece.

The focal piece is a 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock.

I punched out three pumpkins from one of the sheets of DSP from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack. I love it that I didn't have to fussy cut but the edges on these pumpkins was pretty smooth so fussy cutting wouldn't make me whine too much!! LOL

I set the pumpkins on the side of the Basic White focal piece so I could see where the words would go.

The words are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. Then I stamped the candy corn from the same set using Pumpkin Pie ink.

I cut a 2-7/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and a 3" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic Black card stock for the layers. I taped the Pumpkin Pie layer to the Basic Black layer and then I taped the Basic White layer on top. The pumpkins were then set in place using Dimensionals. Dimensionals were also added to the back of the piece.

I took the Pumpkin Pie piece with the DSP taped to it and wrapped some black gingham ribbon around it. I cut my piece of ribbon 6" and taped the ends on the backside. Then the piece was taped to the Basic Black card base.

The focal piece was added and the end of the ribbon (still on the spool) was slipped under the taped ribbon and a bow was tied and the ends were trimmed.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

It's such a bright and cheery Halloween card. I've made several Halloween cards and now it's getting difficult to pick which ones I want to keep for the grandkids.  This might be one of them!

Frightfully Cute, Cute Halloween, Halloween Treat Bag, Weekend Project

Today I thought I'd make a Halloween treat bag. I am going to need to make two but I don't want to make them the same. I have some time before Halloween to figure out what I'm going to do for the second bag.

I used the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" "Cute Halloween" stack. You will need a full 6" x 6" sheet.  I scored the DSP at 1", 2-7/8", 3-7/8" and 5-3/4".  You turn the paper clockwise and score at 1" and 5-1/2".

Fold all score line using a bone folder.  The top score folds down to there is a contrasting edge.  You can fold it inside but it looks better folded down in front.  And you can glue it down if you want. I only glued the ends. I wasn't sure if I was going to need to slip a layer under it or not.

You do need to clip the bottom scores up to the 1" mark.  There will be a little 1" x 1/4" piece hanging there. Snip it off, you don't need it. Now to put the bag together, I prefer to glue the seams. Tape doesn't seem to hold as well. It doesn't take long for the glue to set up. Use your bone folder to press the glue into the paper and let it set for a minute and it's ready to go.  I glued the side seam first and then the bottom flaps.  And that was it.  Now you can decorate as desired!!!

I used a die from the "Ornate Frames" dies.  These have been around for a little while so I'm guessing they will be retiring when the next yearly catalog comes out. So I'm going to try to get some use out of them before that happens.  It worked perfectly here. It fit nice in the open space plus it left me room for words. I die cut mine using Fresh Freesia card stock. I glued it in place on the front of the bag.

I punched out the pumpkin, ghost and cat face from some DSP in the same "Cute Halloween" package. I added Dimensionals to the back of each one and set them in place on the ornate frame.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" stamp set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock.  I used my "Modern Label" punch to punch them out and I snipped the ends to make it fit. Oh, also with the words, they read "Happy Halloween to You" but I masked off the "to you" so the words would fit on the bag. I added Dimensionals to the back of the word piece.  For those of you who don't have that punch, the word piece measures 3/8" x 5-1/5".

I added the cute images and then the words.  I had some orange ribbon and I tied a bow and glued it to the top edge of the bag and the bag was done.  How cute is this?  You can also pinch the sides of the bag at the top if you want or you can punch holes and add ribbon for handles. You can also just staple the bag shut too!

This was a very fun project. I LOVE Halloween bags and these characters are so darn cute. Just perfect for little kids. Not scary at all. Just fun and friendly!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Halloween bag,

Color & Contour, Peaceful Moments, Thinking of You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm still working with my stamp sets to see if I can make some of the spring flowery cards into fall cards. So far I've been pretty successful.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The sheet was cut in half on the short side so this card measured 4-1/4" x 11" before it was folded in half.

I stamped the flower from the "Color & Contour" set using black Memento ink. Then I cut it using the coordinating die.

The flowers were colored using the light Daffodil Delight Blends pen and then the light and dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pens were used to color them in even more.

The stems were colored using both light and dark Mossy Meadow Blends pens. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I took the scalloped die from the set and cut the bottom of the front of the card. about 1" was cut off from the front bottom edge.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Neutrals 6" x 6" stack. I taped it to the bottom of the inside of the card.

I set the flower on the front to see where the words would go and then I set them aside again. I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Moments" set using black Memento ink.

Once again I set the flower on the front of the card to see where the dots should go. The dots are from the "Color & Contour" set and were stamped using Gray Granite ink that was stamped off once. I did that three times over the area where the flower would be going.

The flower was set in place and the card was done.

This is a quick and easy card to make. And I was glad I could make this flower into a fall looking one too!  YAY for versatility!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this quick, easy and versatile card,

Blossoms in Bloom, Fine Art Floral, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

I was hunting for a card that would allow me to use up some Designer Series Paper (DSP) scrap strips and this is what I came up with. You can see the original card here. I changed the words and paper.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the short side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before folding in half.

I had a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of DSP from the "Fine Art Floral" package and I taped it to a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Bumblebee card stock. The original card used gold foil card stock. I didn't have enough on hand to do this so I opted for colored card stock instead.  It would also look pretty using Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue or even Mossy Meadow. I taped the DSP to the Bumblebee strip and then I glued it in place on the front of the card about 5/8" from the left side.

The words are from the "Blossoms in Bloom" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. I die cut them with the single wider rectangle die in the "Rectangle Stitched" dies. For those of you who don't have the dies, this piece measures 1-1/4" x 1-5/8".  And the Bumblebee layer was cut at 1-1/2" x 1-7/8".  The two layers were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back and set in place on the card and the card was done.

This is a quick and easy no frills card but you can sure get rid of a lot of your strips of DSP. Just measure how thin your strips are and make your layer 1/4" wider and tape them together. You can whip up a lot of cards in no time and think of all the scraps or even just retired pieces of DSP you can use up!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this quick and easy card,

Penguin Place, Penguin Playmates, So Many Snowflakes, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I found the most adorable card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here as I did change a few things due to products on hand.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

The Soft Sea Foam layer is 4" x 5-1/4".

Then the Designer Series Papers (DPS) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package measure 2-1/2" x 5" and 1" x 5".  The trees are the backside of the green dashes. The DSP was taped to the Soft Sea Foam piece on the card base.

I used the retired stitched square to make the Basic White focal piece. It measures 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" for those of you who don't have the dies and just need to cut the piece.   And the Soft Sea Foam square measures 3" x 3".

Using the "Penguin Place" set I took out the snow line image and I stamped it across the focal piece using Soft Sea Foam ink. I also stamped it again just behind the fox.

Next the trees from the same set were stamped using Just Jade ink. I stamped once and then without inking, I stamped two more times. On the left the are light, darker and darkest. On the right the are darker, darkest and then the light one. It shows up much better in person.

The clouds were stenciled in. I do not have the cloud stencil so I just took a piece of card stock and cut some fluffy looking bumps in it and stenciled away using a blending brush and Balmy Blue ink.  The Basic White square was taped to the Soft Sea Foam square and then the piece was taped to the front of the card. I tried to line up the sides of the square with the sides of the DSP.

The words are from the same "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using Just Jade ink.

Then the fox was fussy cut from a piece of the DSP in the package. He was set in place using a few Dimensionals.

I didn't have the same snowflakes that were used on the original card but I did have snowflakes from the "So Many Snowflakes" dies and I made them work. The were set in place using small Dimensionals.

The centers of the snowflakes have colored rhinestones, they were colored with the dark Mossy Meadow Blends pen because I didn't have the Just Jade Blends pen.  It goes well enough with the card to pass! And that was it!  Isn't it adorable?

This was a very fun card to make and the fox was not at all difficult to fussy cut out. I just love the look of this card. I don't know what it is about it but the moment I saw it I just had to make it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's Christmas card,

Penguin Place, Mountain Air, Banner Year, Christmas Gift Tag

I was thinking about how nice the weather has been the past week. It's no longer super hot here in Minnesota. It's in the upper 70's and sometimes into the 80's but at least it's not the super hot stuff we've had most of the summer.  And I was thinking of winter being just a few months away as well as Christmas. Christmas made me think of making some Christmas gift tags this year since I have some time and found a cute and fun one to make. Now I need to decide on how many I'm going to make and I try not to think that they will just get thrown away after the package is open!

I found this tag on Pinterest but I did have to make a few changes. You can see the original tag here

The base of the tag is a 2" x 5" piece of thick Basic White card stock. I punched the top using the "Scalloped Tag" punch. I didn't have the tag dies that were used on the original card but I made this punch work!

I didn't have the tree that was used on the original card but I did have a tree die from the "Mountain Air" bundle so I used that on a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock. I did have to cut the tree down a bit, it was a pretty tall tree.

I stamped the tag using the snowflake images from the "Penguin Place" set using Fresh Freesia ink. I colored over the larger snowflakes using my Wink of Stella pen.  Did you notice it's been a few days since I've used it?  LOL

I fussy cut the penguin from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

There was a tiny bird on the piece of DSP that I cut the penguin from and I fussy cut it too. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it, I just new I didn't want to put it in recycling just yet.

I put some Tombow Mono glue down on a piece of waxed paper and I set the tree on top to get some glue on it so it would stick to the tag. I set the tree in place about 1/2" up from the bottom. My tree measured 2-1/2" long after cutting it.

Now I knew where I was going to stamp the to and from. They are from the "Banner Year" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. Do you see the white showing around the black part of the penguin?  I did not use my black marker around him as I had done in the past. Do you see what a difference it makes? And do you see what a poor job I did cutting him out? Had I used the marker around the edges you would have thought I was SO great at fussy cutting. But I'm not and here's proof!  LOL

The penguin was added and then I thought I should use that cute little bird I fussy cut, so I glued it in place on the tag.

I took a 5" piece of Fresh Freesia ribbon and slipped it through the opening on the top of the tag. Then I took some white Baker's Twine and tied it around the ribbon. And that was it. A super quick and cute Christmas gift tag! And with room to write names large enough for people to read. Some of those store  bought tags don't leave a lot of room to write a name that is longer than 4 letters!

This was very fun to make and now I'm off to fussy cut a bunch of Penguins while I watch a movie. It doesn't seem like such a chore when I'm doing it in front of the tv.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet Christmas tag,
Wanda

Penguin Place, Hershey Bar Sleeve or Wrapper, Christmas Stocking Stuffers, Weekend Project

I have not made a Hershey bar wrapper/sleeve in a while. I like making them because they are quick and easy to make, fun and are great to give away.

All you need is a 5-1/2" x 6-1/2" piece of card stock. You do want to use card stock because you need something with a bit more substance to it than copier paper.  Though copier paper will work, just not as well. And the words will show through from the Hershey bar. I used Soft Sea Foam for the base of the sleeve.

I scored the piece on the short side at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-3/4" and 4". Fold all of the score lines in. On the back I glued the inside edge of one side and the outside edge of the other side and I joined them around my candy bar. I needed to make sure I didn't glue the pieces too far in so the candy bar wouldn't slide in. It's just best to include the candy bar in this step. I removed the candy bar and took my bone folder and burnished the inside to help the glue set.

I slipped the candy bar back in so the piece was more solid to work on.

I cut a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12"  "Penguin Playmates" package. This piece measured 2" x 5-1/4". The layer behind it is a 2-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Soft Succulent card stock. I glued the DSP to the card stock and then glued it all to the front of the sleeve.

I fussy cut the cute penguin from the "Penguin Playmates" DSP. I die cut a1-7/8" Basic White circle and a Soft Succulent scalloped circle for the layer behind it.  I stamped the snowflakes from the "Penguin Place set using Soft Succulent ink that was stamped off once. Then I glued those two circles together. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

The words are from the same "Penguin Place" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. Then I die cut them using the 1-1/16" circle die (the smallest die in the pack of circle dies) and then I die cut a Soft Succulent scalloped circle for the layer. I glued the words to the scalloped circle. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I set the penguin on a piece of scrap copier paper and I took my Basic Black marker and I traced around the black areas of it. I didn't do a great job of fussy cutting, there was some light colors showing but tracing around the little fellow like that makes the edges all dark and it looks like you are the most accurate fussy cutter around!!  I could have done it for the feet and hat but I didn't have a Fresh Freesia marker and I didn't think the feet were too bad. They are but I'm pretending they aren't! LOL

I set the top circle in place and then I added the penguin.

The word piece was added and the sleeve was done.

See, it's very quick and easy to make. These make great gift for teachers to give to their students. Plus you can't go wrong with a penguin or snowman, it just lets you think of winter and not Christmas. They make excellent stocking stuffers and great little gifts for the mail carrier, USP driver, etc.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this fun candy bar wrapper/sleeve,

Banner Year, Halloween Card, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

I totally forgot about this gem of a set. It's got all of the holidays covered!  I saw this card on Pinterest and knew I had the set. So I got it out and played with it.  There's a cute little stocking cap in it that just might go well on one of those cute penguins!!!  I'll have to check that out! You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  This card was so quick and easy to make that I made three of them. Now I'm set for Halloween cards this year!

I stamped the spider webs first using Smoky Slate ink.

Then I stamped the pumpkin faces using black Memento ink.

The bats were added next using black Memento ink.

The "Boo!" was added using Gorgeous Grape. I thought it was a bit too dark so on the other two cards I made, I used Highland Heather. The center one was stamped using Granny Apple Green and the bottom one was stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink.

There's a set of three dots in the set. They are actually the berries that go with the holly but they worked here too. They kind of look like little bugs with eyes. I used my markers to color them. I used Highland Heather, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green. That was the part of the card I didn't like doing. I am not a big fan of coloring on my stamps with markers and having to do three colors and hope the don't bead up too much, even with huffing on them you don't get the nice solid color.  But it's still cute the way it is.

The last thing I did was I inked up my blending brush and scrubbed in some Pumpkin Pie ink. I went lightly over the card because I didn't want it very dark. I got just the right amount on the card.

This was a fun card to make, except for those little dots but maybe if I only made one card I probably wouldn't have complained. But then again, I always complain about some aspect of a card I make!! LOL

Thank you SO very much for stopping by today to see this sweet kid friendly Halloween card,

Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Thank You Card

Today I needed to get a thank you card out in the mail. It was long overdue.  I had a lot of things going on and it's really no excuse to not to take the time to get this card out. A sweet friend of mine had helped me remove the wallpaper in my downstairs bathroom. It was not as bad as I thought it would be because the walls had been sized but it still was not a fun job. With the two of us it went rather quickly.  Fortunately it's a small bathroom and one of the sides was the shower with no paper in there!  I did not take any before photos. The paper was peeling, which is common in a bathroom where the shower is run almost every day. The paper had been up for about 20 years.  Maybe a bit less but not much. I don't like change so I don't change the colors of my rooms much at all. Anyway, I was meaning to send her a thank you card and I kept putting it off. So today I decided I would put one together for her and here's what I came up with.

I'm using the "Forever Fern" set again and using colors leaning more towards fall than spring or summer. I gotta keep these sets versatile!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it with the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

Then I die cut the lacy frame from the "Ornate Layers" dies. I took a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "You're a Peach" 12" x 12" package and I cut it at 1-1/8" x 4-1/8".  I glued it to the lacy piece.  Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set onto the front of the card, lining it up on the left, top and bottom.

I stamped the leaves using Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizzazz inks. Then I die cut the pieces.

I started with the left Cherry Cobbler piece. You may want to add the Wink of Stella before you continue. I didn't add it until the card was done and it was a little difficult to reach some of the leaves. I glued this leaf in place over the DSP. Then I added the darker Mossy Meadow one in the background. I glued it in place. The center leaves were added next. They were set in place using a combination of glue on the left and Dimensionals on the right. But before pressing it down on the right I glued the other Cherry Cobbler leaves in place. The Old Olive wider leaves were set in place with glue on the left and a couple of Dimenisonals on the right. And the smaller Pear Pizzazz leaves were glued in place.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink. I die cut them with the "Stitched Rectangles" dies. I cut a 1-1/4" x 2-5/8" piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock. I glued the stamped piece to the Cherry Cobbler piece. Then it was set in place on the card using glue on the left and a few Dimensionals on the right.  And the card was done.  Now to write in it and get it out in the mail!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's thank you card,

Forever Fern, Friendship Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was also in need of a friendship card. I just wanted a card to pop in the mail to say hello and since the "Forever Fern" set was still sitting out (like I put things back right away!!!) I thought I'd see if I can another card in the fall looking theme.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

The layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cajun Craze. Before I taped it to the front of the card, I die cut a circle from the center. My circle measured 2-1/8".  I had cut a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic White and taped it to the Cajun Craze card stock and then taped those two pieces to the card base.

The words are from the same "Forever Fern" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them with the second largest "Stitched Circle" retired dies. That circle measures 1-7/8".  The circles were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back.

I stamped the rounded leaves using Cajun Craze ink. I stamped and die cut two of them. I also colored them using my Wink of Stella pen. It picked up the ink and smeared it around the leaf creating a soft looking effect.

The other leaves were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink and were die cut.

I set the word piece on the card for placement of the leaves. I moved the leaves around the circle until I thought it looked best. I removed the word piece and glued down the leaves.

Then the word piece was added and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. It was fun and I especially love how the Wink of Stalla pen changes the looks of the leaves. Plus it gives it a bit of a sparkle too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see my friendship card,

Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Thinking of You Card

I am in need of a "Thinking of You" card and one of my favorite sets is the "Forever Fern" bundle. I have made a number of cards using it.  I wanted to make a fall looking card with the set. I need to keep it going as a versatile set. I do remember making a Christmas card with this set so I knew I could use it year round. I ended up making two from a card I saw on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.  I messed up and forgot the background strip and I made a second card and I think I like the looks of both of them. Hard to decide my favorite.

The base of both cards is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card was cut in half on the short 8-1/2" side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before it was folded in half at 5-1/2".

I stamped and die cut the images from the "Forever Fern" set using Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow inks.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink and die cut using the Stitched Rectangle die. I also die cut a Cajun Craze card stock rectangle too.  If you don't have the rectangle dies you can cut the pieces 1" x 2-3/8".  I glued those two pieces together leaving an 1/8" border on the bottom and right side. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I set the leaves in place using glue. I started with the taller Mossy Meadow one in the back and then added the Cajun craze one on the left. Then the Pumpkin Pie one was added. The Old Olive wider leafed one was added last. There's two of them. The words were just set on to see where the bottom one would go. Then the bottom leaves were set in place and then the words on top.

For the second card, I added a textured strip of card stock to the center. Of course I cut my card stock before texturing it and it came up a bit short so I had to trim the bottom a bit more to balance it out. I should have left it, textured it and then cut it.  But it is what it is and it still looks okay.

I really like the words on these cards. They just seem to say it all.

Penguin Place, Snowman Season, Penguin Playmates, Gift Card Holder, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

With all of the stuff still sitting out from yesterday's card, I thought I'd use up some more scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and make a gift card holder. You know, for those who are difficult to buy for or for those who'd rather shop for themselves. I love gift cards!! You always get the right size, color, etc.!!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens from the bottom and the fold is on the top.

The Soft Sea Foam piece was textured using the "Wintry" embossing folder package. There's two half folders in the package.  I just can't be without a snowflake background folder!  The card stock was cut at 5-1/2" x 3-1/2".

The DSP behind it only needs to measures 1".  Mine is a bit wider because it's scrap and didn't need to be more than 1". But I wasn't going to spend any time cutting it because the rest would be garbage so I just glued it all in place.  After I glue an item, I put my pieces under my stamping mat and work on another part of the card. This helps keep the card flat while the glue is setting up.  I use the Tombow Mono glue. I have a love/hate relationship with that glue. I love that you can work with it for a little bit before it starts to set up, so you can wiggle your piece around a bit and get it lined up.  The hate part is when I get it on my fingers, it doesn't like to come off easily.  But I think I love it more than I hate it because I use it all the time.  And trust me, I have several types of glue in my workroom. Once the DSP was glued down I only glued the two side edges and the bottom edge.  You need to leave the top open for the gift card holder.

For the gift card holder, the piece was cut at 6" x 4" and folded in half to measure 3" x 4".  I took my Modern Label punch and put the piece in all the way inside the punch and punched the piece out. I also had to move the punch about 1/8" to the right and punch again and 1/8" to the left and punch again. I needed the opening just a little bit wider. You'll know if you need to do that by the size of your gift card.  The gift card will be slipped into that slot on the inside of this little card. This is also the front of the card.

Next I cut a 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock and the DSP measures 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" and was taped to the Soft Sea Foam piece.  Dimenisonals were added only to the sides of this piece. You want to make sure you don't put any in the middle or the gift card holder won't slide in. This piece was then set in place on the small holder.

The words are from the "Snowman Season" set and were stamped using Just Jade ink. I went ahead and used Just Jade card stock for the second circle. The circles measure 1-5/8" and 1-7/8".  I glued the two circles together and set them aside.

The penguin is from the "Penguin Place" set and punch. I punched out the black piece and the white piece. The feet were stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink on Pumpkin Pie card stock and were then punched out. I glued the white piece to the black piece and set it aside.

The scarf was stamped using Fresh Freesia ink and was fussy cut out. It was glued to the penguin. And then the eyes were stamped on. There's a two dot eye stamp in the set. Dimensionals were added behind the penguin.

I set the word circle on the DSP to see where I liked it best. I was going to move it more to the left but pushing it over a bit looked so much better. I glued it in place and then I set the penguin in place.

Slip the little card in the slot created behind the embossed Soft Sea Foam piece and the card is done.

Such a fun gift card holder, huh?  And SO easy to make too!  You can even write something on the inside of the little holder part!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this easy gift card holder,

Snowman Season, Penguin Playmates, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today's card is a super simple one that allows you to have some fun with scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The DSP is from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package and measures 1-1/4" x 5-1/4".

The Soft Sea Foam card stock was textured using the snowflake folder from the "Wintry" embossing folder package. The piece was cut 4" x 5-1/4".  The DSP strip was glued on top of it. I was planning on gluing it to the left side but I had the card upside down and quickly removed the strip and turned it around. I was able to save the strip but still had to keep it on the right side because of the sticky glue all over the card stock.  Right or left it will still look great.

Then I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 3" x 4".  The Soft Sea Foam on top if it measures 2-3/4" x 3-3/4". And the DSP measures 2-1/2" x 3-1/2".  I glued all three of those pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set on top of the front of the card.

The words are from the "Snowman Season" set and were stamped using Just Jade ink and then die cut using the 1-5/8" circle die. The layer was die cut using the 1-7/8" circle die on Just Jade card stock. I probably should have used Soft Sea Foam because that center piece just jumps out at you! Well, the Dimensionals behind it contribute to that too!  LOL  I added a bow and the card was done.

This is a very fun card to make. I do like the layout and I can accept the Just Jade circle!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this quick and easy Christmas card,

Cute Halloween, Frightfully Cute, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, Polaroid Technique

I had so much fun making the Polaroid technique card yesterday that I had to try it again. But I did not go to the dark side this time. I wanted to add some color. I stepped out of my box yesterday but went back in it today. I just like color!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock and I glued it to the card base.

I used the colored dotted sheet from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack. I cut the piece 4" x 5-1/4" and glued it to the Basic Black piece.

For the Polaroid piece, I cut the Basic White card stock at 3" x 3-3/4".  Then I took a 2-3/8 square die and cut the piece, setting the die at the upper part and making sure it was even on both sides and the top.  I used a piece of Post It tape to hold my die in place so it wouldn't shift as I cut it.

I also cut a 3-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic Black and glued the White Polaroid piece to it.

The ghost DSP is from the same "Cute Halloween" DSP stack. I cut it at 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" and I glued it to the inside of the Polaroid piece.

The words "frightfully cute" are from the "Frightfully Cute" stamp set and were stamped using black Memento ink right on the bottom of the Polaroid piece.

Dimensionals were added to the Polaroid piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. I liked it sitting at an angle because it gives it more character. And that was it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Polaroid technique card,
