Sweet Strawberry, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm sneaking in a non-new holiday catalog card every now and then. I still want to play with all of my stuff but am itching to play with the holiday catalog stuff more.  Though I didn't buy very many sets from the holiday catalog but I still want to play with what I have. I'm sure I'll get a nice balance as soon as the newness wears off.  I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Poppy Parade. The original card used Real Red.  That works too but I find that Poppy Parade is a softer red for strawberries. It's a personal preference. I stamped 5 strawberries. I used black Memento ink for the outline of the strawberries and Poppy Parade for the solid part. Since I was making more than one, I set up the stamp in my Stamparatus and I was able to stamp 5 of them pretty fast.

The stems were stamped using Granny Apple Green for both the outline and the solid part.  Though I did stamp the outline twice to make it more solid and defined.

I punched out the strawberries and the stems and then glued the stems to the strawberry.

Two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock was cut for the front of the card and for the inside.  On the front piece I set one strawberry at the bottom left corner so I could see how much room I had for words. The words are from the "Sweet Strawberry" set and were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus so I could stamp the words twice to make them dark enough. Then I taped the piece to the front of the card.

The strawberries were added. I started with the top one. I used Dimensionals on it except for the tip, I left that open so I could slip the next strawberry under it. Then the next two strawberries were glued in place. The bottom strawberry was set in place using Dimensionals.

the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was glued to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy birthday card to make. I just love this "Sweet Strawberry" set and hope to play with it again before the weather gets cooler and the fall colors start to come into play.

Thank you SO very much for stopping by to see this strawberry birthday card,
Wanda
