Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I wanted to find a sweet thank you card and I ran across this one on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I changed it a little.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock to the front of the card. Across the bottom of that piece is a 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package. I taped that 1/4" up from the bottom.

The vellum circle piece was die cut using the die from the "Painted Labels" pack that is part of the "Painted Poppies" bundle. I taped it to the DSP and on the left side I added tape where the stamped flower image will be covering it.

The flower image is from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I colored the flowers using my light and dark Blends Pens. I used Pedal Pink for the larger flowers. The original card used Blushing Bride ink. I didn't want to stamp the flowers, it was quicker and easier to color them in. You get to scribble!  Who doesn't love to scribble color?  So since there was no Blushing Bride Blends pen I went with the next closest color and that was Petal Pink. The smaller flowers were colored in using Daffodil Delight and the leaves were colored in using Mint Macaron.

I took a 1" x 3-1/2" piece of Blushing Bride card stock.  Now Blushing Bride was stuck in my brain and that's why I used it. I didn't realize the color should have been Petal Pink until I had it all taped together. I wasn't going to change it and personally, I think it looks fine the way it is. I stamped the words using black Memento ink and I trimmed the ends to points. I taped the strip to the back of the die cut flower piece and then I added Dimensionals to the back.

The flowers piece was set in place over the vellum circle.  Black acrylic dots were added to the flower centers. Mine are from some retired Halloween elements. I was glad I was able to use them.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet thank you card,
Wanda
