The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I was going to use one of the other colors in the Designer Series Paper (DSP) but they took away from the brightness of the white and didn't make it look as "friendly". So white it was! This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the layer and I taped it to the Basic White base. Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of DSP from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack.
The pumpkins are from the "Cutest Halloween" set and the outline was stamped first using black Memento ink and the centers were stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink. Then I stamped the faces using black Memento ink. The stems were colored using a Soft Suede marker. The pumpkins were punched out.
The fence is from the "Frightful Tags" dies. I cut three from Basic Black card stock and I glued them at the posts to make one piece. Then I glued the posts only to the front of the card.
The center pumpkin was set in place with Dimensionals and the other two were glued in place.
The tree is from the same "Frightful Tags" and was die cut using Early Espresso card stock. Glue was added up the trunk and it was slipped in behind the first pumpkin. You will want to do this shortly after you glue the pumpkin so you have room to slip the trunk behind it. I didn't add any glue to the tips of the branches until the moon was made.
The moon is a 1-3/8" circle and I stamped the bat from the "Frightfully Cute" Halloween set. I used black Memento ink but it didn't stamp dark enough so I colored it in with my Basic Black marker. That's why the ears look a little odd. Did you ever try to be really careful and then suddenly your hand shook? Well, that's what mine did but it didn't do it too bad so I just went with it. I glued the moon behind the tree branches and then I took a toothpick and glue and added some to the branches so they stuck.
The words are from the "Cutes Halloween" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink. I stamped them on a 1/2" strip of Basic White and after I stamped them I clipped the ends with my scissor. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.
And once again I added some Wink of Stella to the faces of the pumpkins and the card was done.
This was a very fun and easy card to make. And it's not scary at all!
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see my kid friendly Halloween card,
Wanda
