Color & Contour, Peaceful Moments, Sympathy Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was found on Pinterest.  It was the colors that drew me to it. It's so soft and sweet looking. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pool Party card stock. The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the short side so before folding, the piece measured 4-1/4" x 11".  This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package. I  used the open scalloped die from the "Scalloped Contours" dies. It's part of the "Color & Contour" bundle.  I've never die cut my DSP like that for a background. I thought it was pretty. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

I took a piece of Basic White card stock and die cut the scalloped stitched rectangle using a die from the same "Scalloped Contours" die set.

The flower is from the "Color & Contour" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I colored in the flower and leaves with the light and dark Pool Party and Granny Apple Green Blends pens. I also colored the flowers with my Wink of Stella pen. I thought it could use a bit more color.  The flower was then die cut using the matching die. I'm SO spoiled with dies that fussy cutting seems like a chore sometimes! I set the flower on top of the Basic White rectangle to see how much space I had for words. I was going to do a birthday card but I have so many birthday cards so I thought I'd make a sympathy card instead. The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus to not only make sure it gets inked dark enough but to make sure it's straight.  And now I'm ready to assemble.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the Basic White rectangle piece and then the flowers were set in place using Dimensionals as well. I did not add any to the stem because I thought it would show and it's difficult to get a small enough piece and make it stick.

I took three green gems from the "Genia Gems" set and set them in place on the front of the card. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make and I can see myself making more. Perhaps with other DSP or maybe exactly the same!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this soft looking sympathy card,
Wanda
