Pansy Patch, Friendship Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.  I thought it would be fun to make because I hadn't used pansy die cuts to make a pansy. So here it is!  I changed it a little

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock. Are you surprised that it's not Basic White?  Most of my cards are for some odd reason!!!  

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I set it aside.

I die cut the flower pieces using Basic White for the base of the flower. Highland Heather for the front edges of the flower and Gorgeous Grape for the top edge and the center of the flower. Had I not seen other cards using these pieces in the die set I would not have known what to do with them. I had only used two of the dies, the ones that cut the printed images from the Designer Series Paper (DSP).   The leaf pieces were cut using Mint Macaron and Shaded Spruce card stock.  I glued the leaf pieces together. Before I glued the flower pieces together, I took the yellow chalk from the "Soft Pastels" assortment and I colored in the center area of the white pieces.  Then I glued the edge pieces and the center piece in place. The leaf was glued to the flower and set aside.

The words are from the "Pansy Patch" set and were stamped using Gorgeous Grape card stock and punched out with the "Everyday Label" punch. I also punched a Highland Heather piece and cut it across on the diagonal. I taped the Highland Heather pieces to the back of the word piece. Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and the flower piece.

A piece of retired ribbon was attached to the side of the embossed piece and that piece was glued to the front of the card base. 

Then the words were set in place, followed by the flower piece.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was taped to the inside and the card was done.

This was fun card to make. I like the flower pieces, though I think something is missing from the center of the flower. I'm not one who knows much about flowers. When I buy them for my flower garden I often ask the sales clerk if the ones I picked out will get along with each other. I just go by "pretty".  LOL
