The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
Next I took a quarter sheet of Basic White card stock and stamped the flower from the "Color & Contour" set using Melon Mambo ink. I don't know why I chose that color, maybe it's because I have a lot of card stock on hand. I sponged the center of the flowers wih Melon Mambo ink too. After the flower were done, I cut the piece 1-3/4" wide so it measured 1-3/4" x 5-1/2".
A Melon Mambo strip was cut for the layer. It measured 2" x 5-3/4". I taped the two pieces together. I laid them on top of the card so I could see where to place the words. Looking at the card here and still thinking it needs something, I thought that maybe I should have done the words using black Memento ink instead. There's just too much "pink" on the card. Well, I do have a strip left because I did a full quarter sheet of flowers. I'll give it a try and see if like it better. I'm pretty sure I will.
After stamping the words I taped the strip down and the card was done. This is also a great layout to use up some of those scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP) too. I have lots of those type pieces and you can make the strip as wide or as narrow as you wish as long as your words fit in the open area.
This is a quick card to make but I'm not a big fan.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today and see today's blunder!
