All Squared Away, Blossoms in Bloom, Get Well Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm not giving up on the "All Squared Away" set. I'm working on different ways to use it. Here is what I came up with today. Black might not be the best choice for a get well card but it is what it is today!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo card stock was taped on top of the Basic Black care base.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Tasteful Textile" embossing folder. I then glued this piece on top of the Melon Mambo layer.

I die cut the tulip type flower using Basic Black card stock. Then I cut the flowers out using Melon Mambo card stock. I cut out four of each. I glued the flowers on top of each other so they were four thicknesses. I set them aside to dry.

The background behind the flowers is from the "All Squared Away" set. I stamped it using Polished Pink ink. I wanted something close in color, but lighter and not just stamped off.

I glued the Basic Black flower frame to the stamped background piece. I trimmed it after I glued it. I had trimmed one before and I didn't get it enough room so the edges could be seen from the inside of the frame. Not pretty!  Then I glued the Melon Mambo flowers on top.  I set it aside to dry while I worked on the words.

The words are from the "Blossoms in Bloom" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I trimmed the words on the top and bottom and the strip measured 5/16" when I was done.  I cut a 7/16" strip of Basic Black card stock for the layer. I was going to just set the words on the front as they were but I thought it was too white and needed a layer. I snipped the ends of the words and my word strip measured 2-1/4" long.  I taped the words to the Basic Black strip. I lined up the left side so I only had to snip the right side when I was done.

Dimensionals were added to the square and to the words. I set them in place and then I colored over the flowers with my Wink of Stella pen to give it some sparkle.  It was just enough.

I really like the thick flowers on here. I hope you can see that in the second pic.  It's really hard to get that thickness in the photo. It's a fun thing to do. It gave the flower some dimension with little effort.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this "All Squared Away" get well card,
Wanda

  1. The texture on this card is AMAZING Wanda. And I love how you added a panel of DSP behind the squared up center.

  2. I have a set of small square dies similar to that from another company. You've given me a great idea for using them. TFS
