The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.
I took the largest triangle die and die cut the two flowers pieces from the "Pansy Petals" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. After cutting them I thought I should have used the next size down for the DSP and then some card stock for the layer. But what was done was done. So I took a quarter sheet of Crushed Curry card stock and I cut it 1/8" larger. I cut it at 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" and then I cut it in half on the diagonal. I lined up the tips of each corner on my cutting board. As I was taping the DSP to the card stock I realized I should have cut it at 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" because my border was very thin. But that's okay too because it kept the eye looking at the flowers and not the border. I taped the DSP to the card stock on both pieces.
I set the triangles in their respective corners so I could see where the words should go. I wanted them centered. Centering on an angle is a little more difficult than centering them head on. But I managed to get it on the second try.
The words are from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set and were stamped using Polished Pink ink.
I was just going to tape the triangles in place like I did with the card from Sunday but I decided to step it up a bit and use Dimensionals. I liked the look SO much better.
I also added a few of the "Genial Gems" to the front of the card and then it was done. I don't know which I like doing better. Cutting the DSP or using the die. But if I use the die, I have to run it through twice because I need two but then again, I'm using the dies!! I need to find some other used for those dies. I will b e looking into that in a few days, maybe! I'll probably forget by then because I'm actually putting the dies away after posting this. Shocker!! LOL
This is a super quick card to make whether you cut the DSP or die cut it. It's fun and pretty. I chose this design from the package of DSP because it was very busy and I wasn't sure I'd be using it on other cards. It worked out perfectly for this layout.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
