All Squared Away, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I had been having second thoughts about buying this "All Squared Away" bundle.  I have not been finding many samples and thinking that I made a disappointing purchase.  Today I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original here.  I thought it was striking with the red on white and easy to make too.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I die cut the flower from the Dies in the "All Squared Away" bundle using Basic White card stock.

I measured the piece and found that a 2" x 2" piece of Real Red card stock would be perfect for the back layer. I glued the die cut piece to the Real Red square. I set the square on top of the card so I could see where the words could go.

The words are from the same "All Squared Away" set and were stamped using Real Red card stock.

Then the square was set in place using Dimensionals.

A rhinestone was added to the center of the flower and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I think it would look pretty too if there was a Real Red layer behind the white and then set on top of a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock like I did with yesterday's card.  But this one is still pretty the way it is.

I thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this square flowered birthday card,

Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Today's card wasn't going to be this one. I'm not sure what I was looking for yet but when I opened up my computer and saw this card I decided to go with it. You can see the original card here. I REALLY like this set and it's probably going to retire next year, so I want to make sure I get a lot of use out of it before I shelve it and forget about it.  I maybe will dust it off once in a great while and use it but usually when they retire, I pretty much forget about them because I have more newer ones to play with.   So here's how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I stamped the leaves from the "Forever Fern" set using Old Olive ink. Then I die cut them with the matching dies. I set them on top of the card base so I could see where to stamp the third branch of leaves.

I set them back on top of the newly stamped leaves to see where to stamp the dots.

The words are from the Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Basic Gray ink. I punched them out using the "Label Me Fancy" punch. I used a scrap piece to make this label.

The two die cut leaf sets were put in place using Dimensionals.

Then the words were set in place using Dimensionals on the edges and double sided tape on the center area.

A few silver "Metallic Pearls" were set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

Today's card was very quick and easy to make. I wasn't thrilled with how it turned out so I cut the front of the card off and trimmed it so I could add an Old Olive layer to it to brighten it up a bit. There was just too much white around the images and it seemed a bit blah.  I like the looks of the redo much better. I have attached both photos so you can see what I saw when I decided it needed something more. What do you think?  I do like it a whole lot better.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see both versions of today's card,

Art Gallery, Artistically Inked, Wedding Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I wasn't sure where I was going with this card. I knew I wanted to use the new 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs. I took out the Subtles's Collection pack. I cut 2" off the 6" square. And I cut so the  strip is 5" long. The color of DSP here is So Saffron. It's a color I don't use much so I thought it would be the color of choice for today.

I cut a 5-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Crushed Curry card stock for the layer. I taped the DSP to this layer.

I took a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock for the base of my card.

I took out my "Art Gallery" set and I stamped the flower using Daffodil Delight ink for the more solid piece and Crushed Curry for the highlights. I die cut the flower and set it aside.

The leaves from the "Art Gallery" set were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I die cut it with the 2-7/8" Stitched Circle (retired) die.  I set the flower on top using Dimensionals.

I taped the DSP layered strip to the left side of the card. And I set the circle on top (I didn't tape it in place yet). I just needed to see where the words would go. Most of the words in the "Art Gallery" set were too large and they were a bit too thin. I wanted to find something small yet a bit taller. The "Best Wishes" from the "Artistically Inked" set was perfect.  I removed the circle so I wouldn't get ink on it and I stamped the words using black Memento ink.

The circle was set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This is a super quick and easy card to make. For other words, I think I would make the side strip thinner. It is a perfect card for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, get well, thinking of you, friendship, sympathy or thank you card.  I'm not sure where the words "best wishes" fall.  Wedding??? Anniversary?? ?  What do you think?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this "best wishes" card,

Art Gallery, Artistically Inked, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was found on Pinterest and I thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card here. What caught my eye about this card was the scored lines on all four edges.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock was taped on top. And the top Basic White piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

The Basic White piece was scored at 3/8" and 1/2", then turned and scored the same and then repeated for all sides.

I set the stamps from the "Art Gallery" set on top to make sure I had room for them. I set the card stock in my Stamparatus and set the more solid flower stamp near the edges of the inside score lines. I stamped that image using Polished Pink ink.

Then the detailed image was stamped using Melon Mambo ink. I was glad that I was able to find two inks that were complementary to each other so I didn't have to stamp off. I really do like these two colors together.

The stem was set in place and then stamped using Shaded Spruce ink.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. And the card was done.  If I were going to be doing a swap, this is the card I would make. It's pretty and it's SO quick. Once set up in the Stamparatus you can make a bunch in no time!

This card can be used for several other occasions, like Mother's Day, Get Well, Wedding, Thinking of You and a Birthday card too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's quick and versatile card,

Butterfly Brilliance, Back on Your Feet, Get Well Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found today's card on Pinterest. I was starting to regret buying the "Butterfly Brilliance" bundle and I thought I'd go hunting for some samples, ideas and inspiration. I copied this!  LOL You can see the original card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock and taped it to the card base.

Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and I textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued it to the Pool Part piece.

I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package and I die cut the butterflies from the "Butterfly Brilliance" bundle. I cut a Dimensional and added it to the widest part of the center of each butterfly.

The words are from the "Back on Your Feet" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I punched it out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also punched out the scalloped oval using a scrap piece of Pool Party card stock. The punch has both the large scalloped and smaller smooth oval in it. I taped the ovals together. I added Dimensionals to the back of the Pool Party oval.

I set the butterflies on top of the card for placement. I needed to make sure there is room for the word piece. Once I liked where they were going to sit, I removed the backing from the Dimensional and set everything in place. And that was it.

This is a very quick and easy card to make. I like the looks of it too!

Thank you ever SO much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet butterfly card,

Senior Years, Masculine Retirement Card, Well Suited, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Third time is a charm, right?  The first time I posted this card I set it up to publish a week ago. I don't know what I was thinking, so I changed the date and deleted the post date I didn't want. I ended up deleting the whole thing. UGH.  SO I tried it again. I had it all set to post and noticed something I wanted to change. I went to change it and I didn't have any luck so I did the CTRL Z thing and it backed up once but I needed more so I did it again and it all disappeared.  I tried all of the other CTRL tricks to get it back and had no luck, so here I am again trying to remember what I typed so I get all the info in correctly.  UGH.

I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I made a few little changes.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I set this piece aside.

I cut a 3-5/8" x 3-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Well Suited 12" x 12" package. I marked the right side at 2-1/2" and I set the piece on my paper cutter lining up the left bottom tip and the 2-1/2" mark and I cut the angle.

Next I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Pacific Point card stock and I die cut a 2-3/8" circle. I made sure the circle was die cut as close to the corner edges as possible to use the least amount of card stock as possible.. After die cutting the circle I cut a 1-1/2" strip off the Pacific Point card stock.  Then the tips at the bottom of the piece were made. You can snip them or punch them. I still had the "Triple Banner" punch so I used it. I'm too lazy to find center and snip.  Once the piece was done, I cut it to 2-1/2".  Because the DSP was checkered, it was easy to line up that strip to get it straight. I taped that strip to the back of the DSP. I set it on top of the Basic White piece so I could see where to stamp the words.

The words on the Basic White piece are from the same "Senior Years" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. Then I textured it using the "Tasteful Textile" embossing folder. You want to stamp your words first because it's very difficult to get a nice solid stamp when you stamp on top of texture. Once the texturing was done, I glued the piece to the Pacific Point card base.

Then I glued the DSP piece to the top of the textured Basic White piece.

I stamped the cute little man using black Memento ink and I fussy cut him out. I colored his hair, eyebrows, pocket edges, center of the belt and pants using the light Smoky Slate Blends pen. I colored is face using the light Petal Pink Blends pen. I used a black marker for his shoes and belt. And his vest was colored in using my Pacific Point marker. There's no Pacific Point Blends pen, I checked!! I then set him in place on the circle using Dimensionals.

I added Dimensionals to the circle and I set it in place over the DSP on the right.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I think it would make a nice Father's Day card or a birthday card too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this cute retirement card,

Artistically Inked, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was looking for a sweet pink card and ran across this one on Pinterest.  It's sweet and very pink! You can see the original card here.

This is a very quick and easy card to make.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package. This piece was taped in place on the card base.

The leaves were die cut using another piece of the same DSP. This sheet has some light and dark sides to it. This happened to be light lighter pink side. Here it looks more white but if you look at the bottom leaf you can see the variegation in the colors. Plus against the white word piece you can see it looks more pink.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using Polished Pink ink. Then they were die cut using the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies. I find it easier to clean those little pieces from the leaves using card stock than I did using DSP. But I managed to get them out out. I cut off the top two leaves and I was ready to assemble.

I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

Then the leaves were set in place. I used a dot of Tombow glue on the upper part of the stem and on the 4th leaf where it touches the stem. There's a nice wide spot there for a dot of glue.

The gold cord was tied in a bow and set in place using another dot of Tombow glue. And the card was done.  I think the word piece could use something. I was going to use a stitched oval die but they are retired and I wanted to try to use current items.  I miss those ovals and I don't understand why they were retired. I may look for some sequins or gold metallic pearls to add to that empty looking word piece.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pink thank you card,

Artistically Inked, Friendship Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was thinking about a friend of mine today and I realized it's been quite a few weeks since I've sent her a card.  So I went down to my workroom and this is the card I made for her.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package.

Then I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and I die cut a stitched square using the largest rectangle die from the "Rectangle Stitched Framelets".  I set the rectangle in place so it would cover as much of the front of the card without the DSP on the right tip being exposed. I turned the card over and traced the edges so I knew where to tape them. Once taped, then I cut the top and side pieces off.

I die cut the flowers image from the "Artistic Dies" that were with the "Artistically Inked" bundle.  I die cut them using Polished Pink card stock. I set the card in my Stamparatus and I lined up the flower image from the "Artistically Inked" set. Then I closed the lid of the Stamparatus and pressed down to get the stamp to stick to the cover. I removed the die cut image and inked up the flower using Polished Pink ink. I closed the lid and pressed down to help the ink to transfer evenly. I repeated this for the double leaf. I used Shaded Spruce ink for the leaves.

The die cut flowers piece was then set in place using some Tombow glue in the center of the flower and on any parts that were wide. I pressed the piece in place.  I thought the flower center could use something so I added some Wink of Stella for some sparkle. I also added it to the round tiny round rose die cut pieces.  It doesn't show in the photo but it is pretty.  But the center of the flower looked like it needed something more. I found some retired "Faceted Gems" and stuck one to the center of the flower.

Green sequins were glued in place. I think I may have over done it on them. Less would have been better.

The words are from the same "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped on Basic White card stock using Shaded Spruce ink.  The words were die cut using the smallest circle die. The scalloped layer behind it was die cut using Shaded Spruce card stock. I taped the words to the layer and set it in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a quick and simple card to make. Though it did seem like it was kind of a waste of DSP  because most of it was covered.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this interesting friendship card,
Wanda

Hand-Penned, Art Gallery, Congratulations Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog, Book Technique

I made a book technique card a little over a week ago. I like this technique, it's fun and easy.  Plus it's different. I found this card on the internet. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I scored it at 3-1/4", 4-1/4" and 5-1/4".

I taped a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package. And then I taped a 1" x 5-1/2" piece of Pale Papaya card stock to the left side.

Now I actually remembered to wrap and tie the black Baker's twine around the front left side before I glued the piece closed!  I used Tombow glue to hold the left side of the card closed.

Next I stamped the flower from the "Hand-Penned" set using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock.  Then I die cut it using the matching die. Then I colored the flowers with the light Daffodil Delight Blends pen and I colored the center of the bottom flower and a bit of details using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen. The leaves were colored in using the dark Soft Sea Foam Blends pen. Then I taped the flower in place.

The words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the postage stamped edge die from the "Art Gallery" bundle. When I die cut them, I made sure they were really close to the left side of the die. I didn't have the dies that were used on the original card. I also cut a 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic Black card stock and taped the words to it. I taped the words to the layer and I set it on top of the card to see how much I needed to trim off on the right side.  Once it was trimmed, I used Dimensionals to set it in place on the front of the card.

A few "Genial Gems" were added to the card and it was done.

This was a quick and easy card to make. I do prefer a bit more colorful background but it's still nice.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and seeing today's congratulations card,
Wanda

Artistically Inked, Artistic Dies, Friendship Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I think what drew me to this card was the Designer Series Paper (DSP). I love that soft green. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock was cut for the layer. Don't tape it on yet, you can cut the word layer from the middle of that piece.

The Basic White layer was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and was textured using the "Tasteful Textile" embossing folder.

There is also another Basic White layer, it's under the DSP. It measures 2-5/8" x 3-7/8".

The DSP is from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package. It was cut 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" and taped to the Basic White layer.

The long white leaf was die cut using the "Artistic Dies". I didn't use the sticky sheets on the card stock.  I also cut two leaves out of gold foil.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White and die cut using the smallest circle die. The layer behind the words was cut using the smallest scalloped circle die. The two circles were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back.

I taped the Granny Apple Green piece to the card base. Then the embossed piece was taped on. Next was the DSP layers.  Everything was taped flat, no Dimensionals.

The long white leaves were added using some Tombow glue. The gold leaves were left over from a different card and they were sticky backed, so I stuck them in place.

The words were set on top of the leaf stems and the card was done. I did have to trim off the stems of my leaves because they stuck out beyond my circles.

I really like the looks of this card. I also like the layout. I'm going to have to try this with other DSP and maybe other DPS and different dies. Lots of possibilities here.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's friendship card,
Wanda

Handsomely Suited, Father's Day Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

What I really like about some of the Stampin' Up! stamp sets with the matching dies is that they are easy for children to play with and create. My granddaughter who just turned 6 made this card for her dad.

The tie is from the matching dies set "Suit & Ties". And the Designer Series Paper (DSP) used for the tie is from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package. Super easy to cut.

The words are from the "Handsomely Suited" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. I let my granddaughter stamp the words on by herself too.  After all it was her card to make but I was there if she needed me.

I did cut the base of the card for her though, it was a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

When she was done stamping the markers came out and she wrote on the inside and also filled it with lots of hearts!  I didn't take a picture of that because I felt it was personal.

I think she did a great job on the card and her dad will love and cherish it.  And there was also a bonus here. She had gotten a Rainbow Loom and after a few minutes of teaching her some tricks to avoid the bracelet falling apart and little rubber bands flying around the room, she caught on and even mastered it. She made a total of 13 of them before her dad came to pick her up. She made a special one for her dad and put it inside the envelope.

She had fun making this card and was SO proud of it.

The envelop was sweet too!

To all the dads out there, I hope you had a most wonderful day.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet Father's Day card,

Wanda

Artistically Inked, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found this beauty on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. It's on the opposite end of the quick and easy cards I had been making, but it was time to do a more in depth card. You can see the original card here.

I messed up this card by not paying attention to the Designer Series Paper (DSP) on the left. So to begin this card, you will need a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  Then you will need to cut a piece of the DSP from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package. I had to cut mine at 1/2" x 5-1/2". I think the strip on the original card was cut at 1" x 5-1/2".

The flower outline was die cut using some brushed gold card stock. The original card said it used brushed gold but mine may be different because it's old. It had retired and I never got rid of it. SO I'm going to use it here, though it does look like Crumb Cake card stock, but I assure you it is a brushed gold. It has a nice dull shimmer to it.  Can dull have a shimmer?  LOL Once it was die cut I used it for placement for the words.

Next you are going to want to add the words at the bottom. They are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink.

From here on out the stamping was done using the Stamparatus and the die cut piece for placement.

I set the die cut piece where I thought it was going to go and I took the larger flower image and set it upside down on top of the piece and I closed my Stamparatus so it would stamp exactly where I wanted it to. The flower was stamped using Polished Pink ink.

Then the die cut piece want back on top, lining up the flower as much as I could and the upper light rose image was stamped using Pale Papaya ink. I set the stamp up the same way I did the larger one and for the rest of the stamps as well.

The small rose at the top center was added using Flirty Flamingo ink.

Then the leaves were done, I set up both at the same time, inked them and stamped them at the same time.

The tiny cluster of three flowers were stamped by hand using Mango Melody ink. I stamped them in the upper right area and lower left area.

There's a cute little dotted stamp in the set, it's only four dots but it's just enough. I stamped the does using Flirty Flamingo ink. The dots were added near the cluster of three flowers, top and bottom and on the left side of the Flirty Flamingo rose. I also stamped it a bunch of times in the center of the large flower.

Taking my Tombow glue bottle, I added glue to the wider areas on the back of the die cut piece. Then I set it in place, I lined up the leaves so it was easier to get the piece in place.

I had some sequins left over from some other project (could be Paper Pumpkin - because I never toss anything out). They were set in place using a tiny glue dot and the card was done.

I do like how it turned out, even with the thinner strip on the left. And this was the first time I used a lot of those stamps in that set. Before this card, I think I have only used the larger image and leaves.  There's a "hello", thanks", "best wishes", and a background image that still need to be used. I'm sure I will use at least a couple of them. I don't know of many sets that I have actually used all of the images. I tried to challenge myself to do that but that went by the wayside rather quickly!

I thank you SO very much for taking your time to see how this colorful birthday card was made,
Wanda

Artistically Inked, Peaceful Moments, Hand-Penned Petals, Butterfly Brilliance, Sympathy Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found today's card here on Pinterest.  I was thrilled to see there was a video but as I was watching it, there was a lot of chatter with those who watching her live and she would give measurements in inches and then centimeters. I ended up taping two rules together so I could figure out the measurements in inches quickly.  I didn't have all of the sets and items used so here is how my card turned out and here is how I made it.

First of all, I think it's a very pretty card. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Polished Pink.  This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. Set aside for now.

Two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock were cut, one for the inside and one for the front.

A 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Polished Pink card stock was cut for the strip. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package was cut at 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" and taped to the Polished Pink Strip. Then it was set in place on top of the Basic White piece that was cut for the front.

Then a piece of Basic White was used for the larger flower die from the "Artistically Inked" bundle. I did use a sticky sheet to make it into a sticker because I didn't want to glue the piece.  It was then set in place in the center of the card.

The words I used are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Polished Pink ink. They were die cut using a die from the "Ornate Frames" dies. Dimensionals were added to the back and the word piece was centered on the card.

Three sets of leaves from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using Polished Pink ink. They were die cut. The woman in the video fussy cut them. Then they were folded in half and the leaves were curled a little using a bone folder. Dimensionals were added behind two of the leaf sets. One of the sets of leaves were cut in half and the other leaf discarded. The leaves were then set in place as seen in the photo.

Gold foil leaves were die cut. They are from the large leaf die in the bundle.  Three single leaves were cut off and used for this card. A bit of glue was added to the ends of the leaves and they were tucked in place. I did cut off the stems on the leaves so I could tuck them in better.

The little flowers were from the "Hand-Penned Petals" bundle and were set in place on the card. I didn't have the flowers that were used in the video so I used what I had. I glued my flowers in place.

The butterfly was die cut from the gold foil paper. I did use a sticky sheet because I didn't want to glue the butterfly. It is from the "Butterfly Brilliance" bundle.

I added some gold "Metallic Pearls" and some white pearls that were a little larger than the gold. I didn't have the embellishments that were used on the original card.

I do like how this card turned out but took a long time to get all the instructions to make it. I would love to make another one and I will follow my instructions because it will be a lot quicker!!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's card,
Wanda

Sweet Ice Cream, Pansy Petals, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I made a card using this layout on Sunday (4 days ago) but I just cut the card stock.  But here I used a die. I was putting away some stuff on my worktable, and yes you read that right, I was putting away stuff!! and I saw the "Stitched Triangles" dies I had bought and only used once.  SO I took them out and thought I would see if the largest triangle die would work for the split word card, or whatever that technique is called, if it's called anything at all.  The die fit nicely in the corner so I thought I'd give it a try.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I took the largest triangle die and die cut the two flowers pieces from the "Pansy Petals" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package.  After cutting them I thought I should have used the next size down for the DSP and then some card stock for the layer.  But what was done was done. So I took a quarter sheet of Crushed Curry card stock and I cut it 1/8" larger. I cut it at 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" and then I cut it in half on the diagonal. I lined up the tips of each corner on my cutting board. As I was taping the DSP to the card stock I realized I should have cut it at 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" because my border was very thin. But that's okay too because it kept the eye looking at the flowers and not the border.  I taped the DSP to the card stock on both pieces.

I set the triangles in their respective corners so I could see where the words should go. I wanted them centered. Centering on an angle is a little more difficult than centering them head on.  But I managed to get it on the second try.

The words are from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set and were stamped using Polished Pink ink.

I was just going to tape the triangles in place like I did with the card from Sunday but I decided to step it up a bit and use Dimensionals.  I liked the look SO much better.

I also added a few of the "Genial Gems" to the front of the card and then it was done. I don't know which I like doing better. Cutting the DSP or using the die.  But if I use the die, I have to run it through twice because I need two but then again, I'm using the dies!!  I need to find some other used for those dies.  I will b e looking into that in a few days, maybe!  I'll probably forget by then because I'm actually putting the dies away after posting this. Shocker!!  LOL

This is a super quick card to make whether you cut the DSP or die cut it. It's fun and pretty. I chose this design from the package of DSP because it was very busy and I wasn't sure I'd be using it on other cards. It worked out perfectly for this layout.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see today's birthday card,

Mountain Air, Thinking of You, Masculine Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was planning on making a masculine card and I saw the "Mountain Air" set that I bought last year and have never used. As I'm looking at the set I realized why. It's a bit more challenging that I thought it would be.  I was looking on Pinterest for some inspiration but wasn't seeing anything I liked so I just thought I'd give it a try in pieces.

I die cut the tree from the dies using Mossy Meadow ink. I cleaned up all the pieces that didn't just pop out and set it aside.

I liked the mountains but I didn't like them all in a long row like they are on the stamp. SO I stamped them anyway using Balmy Blue ink.

Then I stamped the smaller tree line that was just as long as the mountain line. I used Basic Gray for that.  I was liking what I was seeing.

There's cloud images in the set so I stamped a few of them using Balmy Blue ink that was stamped off once.

I decided to make this into a circle layered card. I love making those type of card using smaller images. It puts that tiny image into focus.  But I usually us it with two different size punches. So I need to look for two different size circles because those punches I usually use are way to small for this scene.

I ended up using the second largest Stitched Circle die and the next size larger plain circle die.  I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic Gray and a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut the largest circle first on the Basic White piece.  I set the die on the card stock and the tree over it to see where the circle needed to be moved so there was enough room for the words.  Then I set the circle in place and die cut it.

I set the Basic White piece on top of the Basic Gray piece.  Then I set the die inside the Basic White circle and lined it up. I held the die in place and removed the Basic White piece. I taped the die down so it wouldn't move and I ran it through my Big Shot.

Next I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Moments" set using Basic Gray ink. Then I taped it to the Basic Gray piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and set in place on the card base.

I taped the top part of the tree and then added some glue to a piece of scrap paper and pressed the bottom part of the tree in it and then set the tree in place and the card was done.

I now liked this set. But I can only make so many of these cards before it gets boring and I don't enjoy working with the set anymore.  But there are other shapes to explore!!!  And who knows, maybe I'll find something on Pinterest that will rock my world and I'll have to try to recreate it!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's masculine card,

Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Wedding Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

The day before a wedding, my husband not only decides he wants to go but he needs a card. Oh and it wasn't the day, it was the evening.  So like a good trooper, I went into my workroom and worked on a card for him. It's kind of like when you send a kid to their bedroom.  I'm in my happy place!!! So here's the card I made.

Because it was for a wedding, I was thinking of Basic White card stock and some white glitter paper and/or some shimmer paper. I wanted to keep it all white but it didn't work out. Well, it may have if I would have used embossing powder.  So switched gears and went for the subtle colors.  I'll save the rest of those white pieces i was working with for a future card or card parts.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

The piece on the top is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White that was textured using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued it on top of the card base.

I had die cut two sets of leaves using some shimmery white card stock. That card stock has a bit of a yellow tint to it. Maybe so it could be used on the white or vanilla backgrounds.  Anyway, I set those leaves down in place first.

Then I stamped the larger one piece leaf using the new Soft Succulent ink. I die cut it and set it on top of the shimmery white leaves.

The wider leaves image was stamped using Soft Sea Foam ink. I stamped two of them and die cut both of them out. I set them on top of the Soft Succulent image. As I was setting these in place, I was using the stems for the pivotal point. The stems all touched each other or close to it.

The yellow leaves are stamped using the new Pale Papaya ink.  I also stamped and die cut two of them. One of them I had cut into two pieces so I could have it be smaller and tuck it behind the Soft Sea Foam leaves. I had then taped all of these pieces in place once I got them were I thought they looked the best.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" and were stamped using Soft Succulent ink. Then they were punched out using the "Everyday Label" punch.  I set the words in place using Dimenisonals. I was careful not to put one right in the middle where all of the leaf stems met. They needed to be strategically places so they don't get on a pile of stems. You don't want a big bump in the middle of your word panel. Once the words were in place the card was done. But I think it could have stood to have some rhinestones added or some of the new "Genial Gems".  But it's done and gone.

It was a fun card to make though I would like to find something so I could make an all white on white card (without using embossing powder).

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this not all white wedding card,
Wanda

Sweet Ice Cream, Birthday Card, Book Fold Technique, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I thought it was interesting that the "Book Fold" technique is resurfacing. I have not played with this technique in a long time. It's a fun technique to play with. I've seen a lot of them on Pinterest making the card square. That doesn't work for me. I like to put my cards to be 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" so I racked my brain to try to remember how it was made using a familiar size card.  And here's how it's done:

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Basic White card stock that was scored at 3-1/4", 4-1/4", and 5-1/4".  That's the magic of the card, the scoring.  I folded the card in half and then glued between the nest two score lines. The book part was now formed.

The strip along the side measures 5/8" x 5-1/4".  I used the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package.  The ice cream cones DSP is from the same package, it's actually the backside of the strip along the left side. I taped both pieces of DSP in place.

I stamped the ice cream using Cajun Craze ink that was stamped off once and I punched it out using the matching punch.  The cone was punched out using some DSP from the same "Ice Cream Corner" package. There's 2 full sheets of this lined cone looking image.  SO fun.  I think I've used up an entire sheet. The backside of it has the pointed "sugar" cones on the other side and that's why one full sheet has been used up. That DSP would have looked better with the punched out cone than the flat bottom cones but I wasn't ready to cut that next full sheet!  But I'm sure I will be doing it soon. I'm not going to hoard it! After punching out the two pieces, I glued the bottom to the ice cream.

I wasn't sure where I was going to go with the front of the card. The ice cream cone looked odd on it's own. I needed some type of background. So I thought I'd make a white background so the cone would stand out. It did but the white didn't look so good on top of the DSP. So I took a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock and die cut two pieces using the same shape as the white piece. The die is from the "Stitched So Sweetly" die set. I taped one to the left side of the white piece and the other to the right. There, now I had a layer that followed the lines of the white piece. I set this piece in place on top of the DSP using Dimensionals.

Then I added Dimensionals to the ice cream cone and set it in place on top of the die cut layered piece.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set using and were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut the piece on my paper cutter. It measured 3/8" x 2". I cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock to measure 1/2" x 2-1/8" and taped the word piece to it. A Dimensional was added to each end and a little double-sided tape in the middle and the words were set in place over the cone and the card was done.

Now you can add a bow or you can punch two holes and thread some ribbon or twine and tie a bow. Or you can leave it plain like I did. You can also layer those two DSP pieces for more highlighting of the DSP. I just kept it it simple.

This was a fun card to make and I have loved playing with this set and punch.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet treat card,

Sweet Ice Cream, Expressions in Ink, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Well, it doesn't get any simpler than this!  I had run across a card I made a long time ago and thought I'd see if I had a "happy birthday" that was long enough to do that space justice.  And sure enough I did. It came from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set, so off I went.

I wanted some pretty paper and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Expressions in Ink" package was just what I was looing for.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a piece of Polished Pink card stock 3-7/8" x 3-7/8" and I cut the DSP at 3-5/8" x 3-5/8".  Then I took each piece and separately cut them on the diagonal. I matched the tips to the cutting line on my paper cutter. I taped the DSP to the card stock on both halves.  I set them on top of my folded card so I could line up where the words would go. I did set this up in my Stamparatus because I didn't want to get it wrong and I wanted to make sure I got it inked up enough.  I was glad I did because my ink pad was just a little bit dry and did not stamp as dark as I had wanted it. So since it was in the Stamparatus, I just added more ink to the words and stamped them again.  It was now bold enough!

Once the words were stamped I taped the triangles in place on the upper left and bottom right corners and the card was done.  I told you it was simple but I forgot to say how quick it was too!  And pretty???  I think so.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see this quick and easy birthday card,

Handsomely Suited, Masculine Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I love it when I can find a fun, quick and easy masculine card to make. I had bought the "Handsomely Suited" bundle and have not played with it much. With Father's Day coming up I thought I would make a Father's Day card but I saw this card first and I didn't want to forget about it. (Trust me, I forget a lot of things!!!). I could pin it but then you have to remember to go into your pins and find it but before you go into your pins you are on a fresh new page in Pinterest and the trouble starts!  LOL  Anyway, I thought I would just stop and make this card first and then find a nice Father's Day card to make or be inspired by. You can see the original card here

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock was cut and taped to the card base.

The Basic White piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  The first thing I stamped were the words. I wanted to make sure I get them on nice and straight with plenty of room for bow ties. The words were stamped using Night of Navy ink.

Then I die cut the bow using the die from the "Suit & Tie" dies and some Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package.  I also cut the small oval from the same DSP.  I set the bow on the Basic White piece so I would know where to stamp the bow ties.

The bow ties were stamped using Night of Navy ink and were just added randomly.

I taped the Basic White piece to the Night of Navy piece.

The die cut bow tie was added using Dimensionals. I also added a small Dimensional to the center oval of the bow tie and the card was done.  I told you it was a very quick card. It took longer to get the materials out to make this card than it did to make it. Well, in my workroom it takes a while! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this quick and easy masculine birthday card,

Expressions in Ink, Penned Flowers, Peaceful Moments, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I saw this card on Kards by Kadie's blog and I had to make it. Mostly because of the flowers on the side. Here those dies were in my "Penned Flowers/Hand-Penned Petals" bundle and I didn't pay much attention to them.  Once the dies are cut out you can really see their beauty. I need to take the time to cut out every die in my sets so I can see what they really look like.  Looking at a die doesn't do it justice, it's like judging a book by it's cover.

For the base of this card I used a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of the new Evening Evergreen card stock.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Expressions in Ink" 12' x 12" package and was cut at 2-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Before I taped the DSP to the Evening Evergreen piece, I die cut three tiny leaves from the center of it and the scalloped piece as well. The scalloped oval is from the "Double Oval" punch.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Evening Evergreen ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.

The flowers were die cut using Polished Pink and Pale Papaya card stock. I bought a variety package so I had each new in-color. It's a lot cheaper way to go and you will be able to see your favorite colors by how much you use from the package.

Now that everything was cut and stamped, it was time to assemble.

I taped the DSP to the Evening Evergreen strip. I taped the piece to the front of the card about 1/8" from the folded edge.

I set the flowers on the right side for placement. I wanted to get them evenly spaced and have room for the words.  I did my words differently than on the original card. I don't know why but I REALLY dislike head embossing. I don't know why. I love the way it looks but I'm just not a fan of doing it. SO I opted for stamping the words with ink. I taped the ovals together and set them on top of the card to see how it would look before taping it in place.

I used pieces of Dimensionals behind the flowers and full sized Dimensionals on the oval piece. When I set the flowers in place I did not press down on them, I needed to make sure I could slip a leaf under it. I did add tape to the backs of the little leaves. I just set it on my silicone mat and ran my tape over it. It did cover the center opening but I just took a toothpick and worked the tape out of the center. Then I slipped the leaves in place, pressed down on the flowers and set the words in place and the card was done.

Isn't it pretty? See why I had to make one?  She has a lot of fun cards on her blog. Go take a look.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pretty card,

Artistically Inked, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I REALLY like the floral die cut and I wanted to play with it today. I was trying to find some type of basically solid background so the die would show through. Here's what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather was taped to the front of the card.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White for the top layer.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Hand Penned" 12" x 12" package and was cut at 2" x 5".  The DSP was taped to the Basic White piece.

I didn't have any matching ribbon so I cut a 1/4" strip of Highland Heather card stock and glued it across the edge of the DSP.  My tape was too wide for the strip so that is why I opted to glue it.

Then I die cut the pretty flowers from the "Artistic Dies" set using Basic White card stock that had the double sided sticky paper added to it. I stuck it in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a 3/8" piece of Basic White card stock. I set the words in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I think this would be prettier if the bottom piece was more solid, it's got too much white.  But in person it does look better.

If I were to make a card like this again, I'd look for the darker DSP. I want the die cut to show up better. Other than that I do like this layout.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's card,

Pansy Patch, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was wiping down my counter where my Big Shot sits. There's always some tiny little bits of paper that end up on the counter. They are really tiny and must come from the cuts in the plastic plate. My plate is pretty bad and is in need of replacing. Anyway, while cleaning up the area and stacking up the dies, I saw the "Brick & Mortar" one and thought it was time to make a car using it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Brick & Mortar" embossing folder. I glued this piece to the front of the card.

I cut the square frame using two square dies from the "Layering Squares" die cut set. I used the 1-15/16" square and the 1-5/6" square.  I cut them both at the same time. I taped the dies down using some post it note tape. I didn't want them to shift before I got them cut.  I cut them and added some foam tape strips to the back. I set it aside.

The flower is from the "Pansy Petals" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12" package and I used the matching dies to cut it out. There's a sheet of flowers and a sheet of leaves that match the dies so you can just die cut these flowers.  Or you can fussy cut them, there's not a lot of jagged edges so it's a pretty simple cut.  I do struggle with the leaves, I can't tell which direction the should go. The upper leaf looks like it should be going in the other direction. But when I switch ends it looks funny because of the way the end is made. You can't see it because it's taped behind the flower.  Anyway, this is what I ended up with. I taped the leaves to the flower. I added Dimensionals behind the leaves and the upper petal of the flower. I did add more later but for now I just added them in those three places.

I took the square and removed the backing on the foam strips and I set it in place on the front of the card. It's set about 1-3/8" from the top of the card and 1-3/16" from the sides.

I took a piece of Baker's Twine and made some loops around my fingers and I set it in place inside the bottom left corner of the square using a glue dot.

I set the flower on top and this is when I could see where more Dimensionals could go. It does need more because the DSP isn't as thick as card stock and would droop.

The words are from the "Pansy Patch" set and were stamped on a piece of scrap Basic White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. I used my paper cutter to trim the words. They ended up measuring 1/2" x 1-5/8". Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I did add a "Genial Gem" to the center of the flower. It just looked like it needed a bit of a sparkle and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I especially LOVE the brick in the background.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see this fun thank you card,
Wanda

Art Gallery, Thank You Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm still playing with the "Art Gallery" set. What I like about it is you can create some fun and pretty flowers in no time at all. Plus like with yesterday's card, the flower is going in the other direction, so you're not confined to just leaning left or leaning right.  Today's card leans towards the right.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  I glued this piece in place, though I think tape would work because there are plenty of flat spots for the tape to stick to the card base. Some textures don't have enough space to stick, so I end up gluing them to make sure they stick.

I cut a 1-1/4" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Brights 6" x 6" stack. I love buying those stacks because you get some DSP in every color in that color group. I buy all of the collections so if I don't have any DSP for a card I'm making, I know I have something in those stacks that will match.  And you get a lot of pieces in each stack, which means you probably won't use them all!  I have yet to use all of the DSP in any stack I've ever purchased.  Okay, so after I cut the DSP, I cut a 1-1/2" x 4" piece of Crushed Curry card stock and taped the DSP to it. Then I taped the layers to the front of the card 1-1/4" from the bottom of the card base.  I did tape that strip but am thinking I probably should have glued it, it doesn't seem to be sticking on some of the edges very well.

The flower was stamped using Daffodil Delight for the more solid image and Crushed Curry for the detailed image. The stem and leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink and both the flower and stem with leaves was die cut at the same time to save time.

I did glue the tip of the stem to the flower and I set it aside while I worked on the words. The words are form the same "Art Gallery" set and were stamped on a piece of scrap card stock that was left over from stamping and cutting the flower parts. I die cut the words with the cute postage stamp edged border die in the matching dies set.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower and leaves and then set in place on top of the card. The words were set in place with Dimensionals and the card was done.  You can add some rhinestones or pearls if you like. I opted not to because I was going to be sending it out in the mail and I didn't want to spend the extra in postage for making the card non-machinable.  Sometimes I've used a piece of shirt board (thin cardboard like what a cereal box is made of) and it goes through the mail just fine.  But I just decided to keep it clean looking, basic and simple.

This was a very fun and quick card to make. I can see myself making more like this in the future and maybe with some rhinestones on it too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this quick and easy thank you card,

Art Gallery, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I REALLY love the look of a white card with a pop of color. I love all the layers on here, though I love lots of layers anyway.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right an the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and a 5" x 4" piece of  Basic White card stock that I textured using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.  I cut it in half so it measured 5" x 2".  I'm going to save the other strip for a future card. I glued the embossed piece to the 4" x 5-1/4" piece. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the front of the card.

A 2" x 3" piece of Basic White card stock was set in place on the middle of the card using Dimensionals.

The flower is from the "Art Gallery" set and was stamped using Flirty Flamingo ink. I stamped off on the more solid image and used the full ink on the highlight image. Then I die cut the flower.

The stem with leaves was stamped using Old Olive ink and was die cut and then taped to the 2" x 3" piece.

The flower was set in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped using Old Olive ink. I cut them out on my paper cutter and it measured 1-3/4" x 3/8". I set it in place using Dimensionals.

A few crystal rhinestones were added and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and it has a nice elegant look to it.  I can see this as a pretty Mother's Day card, thinking of you card, get well card, or sympathy card.  Very versatile. That was one of the things that drew me to this set.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this elegant and versatile card,

Forever Fern, Wedding Card, Stampin' Up!

I have not made a no layer card in a very long time. I forgot how much I don't really like them. I'm a layers upon layers person. Plus don't forget the Dimensionals and rhinestones or pearls! Gotta have those embellishments!  But here's my card for today.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  And it's the whole card. I guess this would be a very inexpensive card to make!  Anyway, this card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

The first thing I stamped were the words. They are from the "Forever Fern" set using black Memento ink.

I used 1" wide Post it Note tape to cover the words so I wouldn't get any leaves or stems on them. I also took a scrap piece of copier paper to cover the bottom while I worked on the bottom and then covered the top while I worked on the bottom.

I used three of the leaf images from the "Forever Fern" set. The center leaves were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I stamped the top ones first and just left my stamp on top of my ink pad until I was ready to do the bottom.

The leaves on each side of the center leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink and the outer leaves were stamped using Pear Pizzazz ink.  The dots were added using Pale Papaya ink and the dotted stamp in the "Forever Fern" set. I was going to use something darker, something more in the orange area. I took out my Cajun Craze ink pad and found it was too dark so I decided to just stick with the Pale Papaya. It kept the card looking more summery than fall.

I removed the copier paper piece and stamped the bottom the same way and the card was done.

It's an okay card but I miss all the layers. I think I would have rather stamped the leaves like I did but added the words on a separate piece of card stock and set it in place with Dimensionals. But that's me, I just have to have a layer! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this no layer card,

Forever Fern, Pansy Patch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Today's card came right from Pinterest.  I though it was pretty and it looked like a lot of fun to make. You can see the original card here.  There's not a lot of information on what went into making this card. I'm sitting here typing and laughing at the same time, I have the hiccups and they cause me to hit the wrong key when I'm typing. They do not come in regular intervals either. They are the kind that surprise you. And I often get a stomach ache when I have them, so there's that to look forward to in a little while too! So, this is how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The layer on top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I had a piece in my stash that was not only the right size but it had a scalloped oval die cut from the middle. So this piece of card stock got the maximum use!  Love it when that happens.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White for the top piece.

I stamped all the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. I stamped one of the large long ones, two of the wide leafy ones and two of the small leafy ones.  I also stamped two of the rounded ones using So Saffron ink.  I die cut all the leaves.  Then I punched out three Basic White flowers using the Medium Daisy punch. I sponged the centers with So Saffron ink and then I glued the three flower pieces together, offsetting them just a bit.  I added some glue to the center and sprinkled on some crystal glitter and I set it aside to dry.

I also die cut the circle from the "Swirly Bird" set. There's a new swirly circle in the catalog. I don't know what set it came from because I didn't purchase it.  Not sure if I will, I think I may hang onto this set for a bit longer. I should have used the double-sided sticky sheet before I die cut it but I forgot, so there's some gluing in my future!

I set the swirly circle on the front of the card for placement so I knew where the words would go. I stamped the words from the "Pansy Patch" using Soft Suede ink. And then I added the dotted images from the "Forever Fern" set using Crumb Cake ink.

Now I am ready to assemble the card. I taped the leaves down first that are closest to the words.  Then I glued the swirly circle on top of those leaves. The tall, longer leaves piece was taped to the left side.

Next the very bottom leaves were taped down. The smaller leaves had Dimensionals added to them as well as the So Saffron leaves. I removed the backing on the Dimensionals and set them in place.

The flower was glued in place on top of all of those leaf ends and the card was finished.

I think it's such a pretty card. I love using the "Forever Fern" set. There's so many cards I've seen using it that are SO pretty and copy worthy!!

I thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pretty birthday card. (oh and the hiccups are gone and no stomach ache or typo's!!!)

Art Gallery, All Squared Away, Fine Art Floral, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I love it that the Designer Series Paper (DSP) matches the stamp sets (or vice versa) and you can just die cut an image instead of stamp it.  On one hand it somehow feels like cheating because it's not stamping and on the other hand it's nice because it's pretty and you can make a card quickly!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 2-1/4" piece of the DSP from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package. Then I cut it at an angle. I marked the right side at 1" and I cut it from the 1" mark to the top of the left corner.  I taped the DSP in place on the bottom of the card.

Then I stamped the words from the "All Squared Away" set using Mossy Meadow ink. My ink pad is a bit too juicy and my words seemed to be a bit thicker than I wanted them to be.

I stamped the leaves from the "Art Gallery" set using Mossy Meadow ink and then I die cut them with the matching die.

The flower was die cut from the same DSP. It's actually the backside of the DSP at the bottom of the card. I added Dimensionals to the back of the flower.

I taped the leaf in place and then the flower went over the tip of the stem.

Three rhinestones were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. Though I still feel like I cheated using the DSP for my flower.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this floral birthday card,

Pansy Patch, Pansy Petals, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm loving the "Pansy Patch" set and matching Designer Series Paper (DSP). I found this pretty card on Pinterest and I thought I'd give it a try. I don't know where the scalloped edge rectangle came from but I did know that I didn't have it, so I used what I had. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the new "Fresh Freesia" card stock was used for the layer. I taped that piece to the front of the card.

Then I die cut the rectangle piece. I didn't have the scalloped rectangle die so this is what I found in my stash and I thought I'd just go with it and it worked. I used largest lacy rectangle die from the "Ornate Style" bundle.

The words are from the "Pansy Patch" set and were stamped using Fresh Freesia ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus to stamp the words and I'm glad I did because I needed to stamp them twice to get them dark enough.  I didn't buy the stamps, I had bought the ink refills and empty cubes for the in colors. I don't use them often but sometimes it's nice to have them, so this was a more economical feasible way to do it. I may not have inked the cube enough but it's better to have not enough ink than too much (if you're using the Stamparatus).

I cut a 1-3/4" x 2" piece of DSP from the "Pansy Petals" 12" x 12" package. The original card had three small strips of the checked DSP, but I didn't want to mess with the cutting and lining up so I just made it one piece and moved on quicker. I taped the DSP to the front of the lacy rectangle.

The flower was die cut from a sheet of the DSP and the leaves were die cut from a different piece of the DSP.

The lacy piece was set in place using Dimensionals. Then the flower was set in place using Dimensionals. I didn't press it down because I needed to add some tape to the back of the leaves and slip them under the flower.  Then I could press the flower down.

This was a fun card to make and very pretty too. It's got such a soft sweet look to it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see this sweet card,

Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found this pretty card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card here. I did click through to the link.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  You will also need a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock. Information on the original card read that the checkered paper was from the "Pattern Party" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. I couldn't find it in the catalog, it may be retired or I just didn't look good enough.  Anyway, I didn't have that DSP but I did have a piece of card stock that had the retired Buffalo Plaid stamped on it, so I used that.  I cut it to 2-1/8" x 5-1/8" and it probably should have been cut to 1-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I also cut a Basic Black piece of card stock at 2-3/8" x 5-1/8".

The plaid piece was taped to the Basic Black layer and a piece of ribbon was wrapped around and taped on the backside. Then I slipped the end of the ribbon (still on the spool) under the taped on ribbon and tied a knot. Then I trimmed the end. It saves some ribbon doing it that way, you don't waste as much.  I took the Basic White layer and I set the plaid piece on top so I could see where the words were going to go.

The words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. Then the plaid piece was taped in place.

The flowers from the "Hand-Penned Petals" were stamped on Basic White using black Memento ink. I colored them with Blends pens. I used light Pumpkin Pie, Dark Daffodil Delight for the flower centers, light Highland Heather, Light Flirty Flamingo, light Daffodil Delight and dark Soft Sea Foam for the leaves and then some light Granny Apple Green for highlights on the leaves. Once the coloring was done, I die cut the piece.

Then I took a piece of Basic Black card stock and added the sticky backing to it so I could die cut the flower outline image and not have to try to glue it. I made the piece into a sticker. Could you imagine trying to glue that piece? Though there are some pretty easy ways to do it,  but it's still not fun! After die cutting the outlined flower image, I removed the backing and stick it to the colored flowers. I thought it would cover better than it did but it is what it is and the more I look at it, the more I like it.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece and was set in place on top of the card base. I added Dimensionals to the back of the flowers and set them in place on top of the plaid piece and the card was done.

I really like the looks of this card. I think it's all the black that makes it stand out. There's a couple of things that Stampin' Up! should always have, black and white checked DSP and black and white Polka Dotted DSP, oh and red and white polka dotted too. Just basic staples in card making, right? And I was surprised at how quick it was to make this card. The coloring was probably the longest part of making it and that really didn't take all that long either.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this stained glass looking card,
