Hand-Penned Petals, All Squared Away, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I still had my "Hand-Penned" set and the "Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper" (DSP) sitting out so, since I loved the colors I used on yesterday's card, I thought I'd try them again on today's card.

This was a very fun card. I had no idea where I was going with it until I was done stamping and cutting the flowers. The flowers are from the "Hand-Penned" set and were stamped on Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I colored them in using Both dark and light Blends pens Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo.  Then I die cut them out with the matching die. I also colored the flowers using the Wink of Stella pen. I thought they could use a little sparkle.

The base of the card stock is a folded half-sheet of Basic White. I cut it in half on the shorter 8-1/2" side. It measured 4-1/4" x 11" before I folded it in half on the long side. The card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Hand-Penned DSP" 12" x 12" package. I taped it in place on top of the front of the card.

The words are from the "All Squared Away" set and I was going to stamp them on a circle and taped them in place but I decided to take that circle die and cut a hole in the front of the card. The die is from the "Stitched Shapes" pack and I used the second largest one. You can save the circle for another project down the road. It will be fun to run across it and have an idea pop in your head!  Or you can put it in a pile with the rest of the stuff waiting for ideas. Like I do! LOL

The flower was set over the opening so I could see where the words were to go. I wanted to make sure the words showed through the opening but I also wanted to make sure the flowers would fit over it and also not over the side of the card.  I stamped the words using black Memento ink.

The flowers were set in place using Dimensionals.  I set the flowers over the opening and then I turned it over and traced around the circle area so I would be sure not to add Dimensionals over those lines or they'd stick to the inside of the card and make me unhappy!  Yup, done that before.

And the card was done. This was a very quick and easy card to make and it's a fun and different layout.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this fun layout,
Wanda
