To a Wild Rose, Peaceful Moments, Sympathy Card

Today I thought I'd make another quick and easy card using the "To a Wild Rose" stamp set. I should have played with this set more and now it's going to be retiring.  The sad part is, it was kind of expensive because I bought the bundle, the set and dies together. And I didn't realize that it was going to retire in just one year.  So I will be rethinking my purchasing of these types of stamp sets. I like to have more time to play with them.

So, onto this card.  The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a piece of Balmy Blue that measured 4" x 5-1/4" and a piece of Rococo Rose that measured 3-7/8" x 5-1/8"and the focal piece of Basic White was cut at 3-3/4" x 5.

I took a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and stamped the flower using Rococo Rose for the outline image and Blushing Bride for the highlights. I die cut it out.

The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green for the outline image and for the solid part. I die cut the leaves and the flower. Oh, I did stamp and die cut two sets of leaves.

I set the flower on the focal piece so I could see where the words would be going. The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink.

The layers were taped together and then taped to the card base.

I took some white twine and wrapped it around my fingers to get some nice loops. I taped the loops down in the center area of where the flower would be going.

Then I set the flower on top to see where the leaves would be going. The leaves were taped in place and the flower was set in place using Dimensionals.

I took my Wink of Stella pen and colored in the details on the center part of the flower and some lines on the flower and I colored all the leaves in.  The leaves on the right were cut. I cut one off and taped it where you see the lone leaf.

Some pearls were added and the card was done.

I think I may have liked it in purples better than the pink colors. But it's still nice.

This was a fun and easy card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to have a look at this sympathy card,
Wanda

Wanda, this is a beautiful card for a sad occasion. We all need sympathy cards and it seems the older I get the more cards I need. Enjoy your day!
