Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card

The "Good Morning Magnolia" set is retiring next month and the "thinking of you" words in the set are one of the prettiest ones I've seen and I've used them a lot. I'm gong to miss this set mostly for those words.  I found this card on Pinterest and I thought it would be great to actually use some of that gold foiled paper in the "Ornate Garden" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12" package.  You can see the original card here. I only changed the words. This is a versatile card and you can use it for other occasions too.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive. This card was cut in half on the 8-1/2" edge of the full sheet of card stock. So this card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the DSP and before I taped it to the front of the card, I punched out the small daisy. I put the long side of the DSP into the punch and slit it all they way in until it stopped. Then I punched the daisy. Be careful removing the punch because those little points in the center area want to curl and get caught in the punch.

An Old Olive piece was cut at 3" x 4" and the Basic White piece on top was cut at 2-3/4" x 3-3/4".   I taped the two pieces together.

I punched the large daisy using a piece of the DSP. I couldn't do it from the center of the 4"" x 5-1/4" piece because you could see where it was punched. So I could only punch the smaller one.

I also punched a large gold foil flower too.

A Dimensional was used to affix the DSP flower to the gold foil flower. They were offset so the petals of the one were in the open space of the other. The small flower was set in place using Tombow mono glue. The petals sat on top of the petals from the gold foil flower. I set it aside to dry.

The words were stamped using black Memento ink and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and then die cut using the 2" oval die. I also die cut the scalloped oval that is just a bit bigger than the die the words were cut from.  The oval dies are retiring too. I love using them and I'm hoping something fun will be replacing them. You can't always use circle dies for words and sometimes square and rectangle just don't cut it.  Anyway, I taped the word piece to the gold foil scalloped oval. I added Dimensionals on the back and set it in place at the bottom of the card. I set the words in place because I wanted to make sure they fit in the area and the flower didn't cover them.  I had set the flower in place first and had to move everything. The word piece is very close to the bottom edge of the white piece. Only about 1/8" of the white is showing.

The flower was set in place using a Dimensional and a retired faceted gem was added to the center. You could use a large rhinestone colored with a Blends Pen or you can punch a circle and glue it in place too.

This is a super easy and fun card to use.  I love this layout and will probably be using it again in the near future.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this thinking of you card today,
Wanda
