The "Blossoms in Bloom" set is not retiring yet but I ran across this card that I just had to make. I found it here on Pinterest. This card was a lot more work that I anticipated.
I die cut the two layers from the "Many Layered Blossoms" dies. I did use a piece of double stick paper before I die cut them. There was no way I was going to glue all of this fine detail. I used the double stick paper on both dies. After cutting them I spent some time removing the inside pieces that were not needed. Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo card stock was used for my colors.
After all of the excess pieces were taken off, I had removed the backing and set the thicker die cut piece in place on top of the Basic White piece. I looked at the finished card for placement. I also did this on top of a silicone sheet because I want to use what is going to be cut off on another card (maybe tomorrow). This is the excess piece I used for today's card.
I cut a 4" x 1-1/4" piece of Blushing Bride card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued that piece in place on top of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock.
The flower piece was then burnished in place. I set the edge of the flower piece along the top edge of the textured Blushing Bride piece. I turned the piece over and I ran my bone folder over the flower to make sure the sticky part stuck to the card stock.
The words are from the "Blossoms in Bloom" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the 1-5/8" circle die. I cut the piece in half and glued it in place just under the edge of the flower piece.
I had some retired ribbon so I taped the ends on the back and secured them with scotch tape. Dimensionals were added to the back of it and it was then set in place on a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I added three crystal rhinestones and the card was done.
I really like how this looks but I'm not sure I'd ever make another one. It was a lot of work, mostly the picking out of the parts that weren't needed plus removing the delicate die cut piece from the backing. BUT if I were to make yesterdays card again then I would definitely make this card again, it would be silly not to!!! It's kind of fun when you can finish a card and have parts left over to make another super quick card that is just as pretty! Though I think I like the look of this card better.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by today and see part two!
