The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I am running low on the Real Red card stock so I scaled down the piece so I could use the Real Red as a layer instead of the card base. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red and taped it to the front of the card.
The Basic White piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and the lacy piece from the "Stitched Lace" dies was die cut on the edges and taped in place over the Basic White piece. That piece is 3-7/8" long and two "rows" wide. I took some waxed paper and added some white glue to it, then I folded the waxed paper so the glue was on both sides. I took my bone folder and spread the glue inside the folded area. I opened it up and set my lacy piece down on it and picked up the glue. I then set the lacy piece in place on the Basic White piece.
Then I stamped the words from the "Sweet Strawberries" set but I didn't refer to the original card, so my words are down lower but it still worked so I went with it. Besides, I didn't like gluing the lacy piece and I can't imagine gluing another one. The words were stamped using black Memento ink. I stamped some flowers from the same set using Smoky Slate ink.
The circle is from the "Stitched Circles" dies, it's the third one in that group. I die cut it using Basic White card stock.
The strawberry was stamped from the "Sweet Strawberries" set using black Memento ink for the outline and Real Red ink for the solid part. The stem was stamped using black Memento ink for the outline and Garden Green for the solid part. And the leaves were stamped using black Memento ink for the outline and Granny Apple Green for the solid part. I used two leaves. I didn't have my punch yet (it's still on backorder) so I had to fussy cut them out. I set the strawberry down on the circle using glue. The leaves were then glued in place. I took a toothpick and some white acrylic paint and added a few white dots to the strawberry and a "shine" mark. Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and it was set in place on top of the lacy piece.
I colored some crystal rhinestones with my dark Real Red Blends pen and set them in the center of the flowers and the card was done.
This was a very fun and easy card to make. I love the clean look it has too. There's a gentle calming sweetness to this card.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's card,
Wanda
