The base of the card is an 11" x 4-1/4" piece of card stock and was folded in half. You can score at 5-1/2" if you like, I just tend to fold most of my cards without scoring.
The DSP was cut at 3" x 3" and the layer behind it was cut at 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" using Blackberry Bliss card stock. I taped the DSP to the layer. I didn't have the same ribbon that was used on the original card so I used some ribbon I had on hand. It wraps around the piece and then is tied on the side using a piece of linen. I taped my ribbon on the back so it didn't move and I also added a little tape to the area under the ribbon where the cone will go, then I tied it together. It helped it from moving around too much. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.
The words are from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set and were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. I did set the square piece on top for placement of the words before I stamped them.
The cone was punched from the backside of one of the pieces of DSP. The ice cream was stamped using Granny Apple Green ink and the sprinkles were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. The ice cream was punched out and glued to the cone. I placed my glue on the upper part of the cone and then added the ice cream. I added Dimensionals to the back.
I set the square in place and then the ice cream cone on top and the card was done. The original card added some of the candy sprinkles but I omitted them because the background on the DSP has plenty of sprinkles. And I'm planning on making some shaker cards so I'm going to save mine for that.
This was a fun and cute card to make. It's great for adults and kids too.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in hand have a look at what I did today,
Wanda
