Fine Art Floral, Peaceful Moments, My Meadow, Birthday Card

While looking on Pinterest today, I ran across a fun card that used the "My Meadow" set. This is a set I have hardly used at all. I don't even recall adding a card to my blog using this set. So curiosity got the best of me and I had to do a search on my blog. You can search for any card on my blog by going over to the right and scrolling down until you come to the rectangle box that reads "Search this blog". I don't often search my own blog but today I just had to and I was right, I had never used this set. Even if I had made a super ugly card I would have posted it!!! LOL  You can see the card I found on Pinterest by clicking here. I loved the layout.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. The card stock was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side so the piece measured 4-1/4" x 11" and then I scored it at 5-1/2" and folded it on the score line.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" pack. I wanted to find some flowers that would go well with the theme and this is what I came up with.  I taped the DSP to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I did cut the Basic White card stock just a hair smaller so I didn't have to be concerned about the edges of it showing and then there's trimming and hoping you don't cut into the DSP, you know how that goes!  I also took a 3/8" x 4" strip of Mossy Meadow card stock for the band. I didn't have any current Daffodil Delight ribbon so I used some retired stuff.  I could have added an 1/8" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock too but I had the ribbon and I thought I'd use it. I taped the card stock to the DSP and then I added some snail taped the ends of the ribbon and stuck it to the back of the piece. I secured it with scotch tape. Then I taped the piece to the front of the card.

Next I die cut the Basic White and the Mossy Meadow "Stitched Nested Labels" dies. I used the second and third largest for these pieces.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

The frame of the wheel barrow was stamped using black Memento ink. And the grass under it was stamped using Old Olive ink.

Then I stamped the body of the wagon. Once on the stitched label and once on a piece of scrap card stock. I fussy cut the piece on the scrap card stock and added two small trimmed Dimensionals to the back of it.

Next the leaves to the flowers were stamped using Old Olive ink and the flowers were then stamped using Daffodil Delight ink.

The nested label piece was then set in place on the front of the card. This is the part where you add the wagon body you fussy cut out.  I lost mine. I don't know where it went. I even looked on the sleeve of my shirt because that's where most of the things like that end up. So I will be making a new one and adding it later.  Once it's added is when I find the piece I'm looking for. UGH!  Anyway, once the piece is added the front of the card is done.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White is added to the inside and the card is completely done.

This is a very fun, easy and quick card to make. I would think  you could use this image with any floral DSP. It takes 1/6th of a sheet so you get 6 cards from a 12" x 12" sheet.  Nice way to use up a sheet.  Easy and quick too!  Hmmm.  I think I may leave this set out so I can make some more in the near future. I have TONS of floral DSP that needs to be used.

Thank you ever so much for taking your time to stop by and have a look at today's card,
Wanda
