The base of the card is a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock that was cut at 5-1/2" 7-1/4" and scored at 4-1/4" and folded. This left an opening on the right side.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was taped to the inside and then a 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package was taped on top of the Basic White piece on the right side. That takes care of the inside. Now if I wasn't in the mood to make a card layout like this, I would have just cut the piece of DSP and taped it to the front of a regular cut card.
The basic White piece on the front of the card was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. It measured 2-3/4" x 5-1/4". I glued the piece in place because I didn't feel there was enough flat areas for the tape to stick to and hold in place. I could be wrong but I'd rather glue than tape just to be sure.
I had stamped my flower on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Daffodil Delight for the larger image and Crushed Curry for the smaller highlight image. Then I die cut the piece using the matching die. It's also easy enough to fussy cut, there's not a lot of tough areas to cut.
I die cut a "Stitched Circle" from a piece of Basic White. I used the largest circle in the package. And I also used the largest scallop circle to cut the Flirty Flamingo layer.
The leaves and stem were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on the stitched circle. Then I taped the circles together. I used glue dots to set the circle in place on top of the card front. Be careful not to get any glue on the area that crosses over the DSP. The original card has the flower stamped on the circle and then the circles set in place using Dimensionals. I did mine a bit different. I set the flower in place using Dimensionals and the circle was set in place flat. I thought about adding Dimensionals to the circle but with them on the circle and the flower, it would be kind of thick. So I did it this way and was pleased at how it looked.
I didn't have any Mossy Meadow ribbon but I did have some Mossy Meadow thread left over from a Paper Pumpkin kit so I took two 6-1/2" pieces and tied a bow. I trimmed the ends and set the bow in place on top of the stem using glue. I have not had the best of luck using a tiny glue dot to hold it, it seems to move a round more than I prefer.
The words are from the same "Art Gallery" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I trimmed the piece to 3/8" x 2-1/2". You could cut the piece first and then stamp on it. I tried it but I can never get it straight on such a thin piece of card stock. I suppose I could have set it up in the Stamparatus and gotten it straight but I didn't. The words were set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.
I REALLY like the looks of this card. It's bright and cheery. I think it would also make a great birthday, get well or Mother's Day card. It's just pretty.
