Beautiful Friendship, Birthday Card

The "Beautiful Friendship" set is going to be retiring soon. I am sad to see this one go. I have especially liked the words in the set. I have used the birthday sentiment a lot.  If I don't hang onto it for a while longer, I will be adding it to my web store. I have way too many sets in my workroom and I need to make room for new ones.

I found this card on Pinterest while looking for something else. I was glad I ran across it and I saved the link so I could make this card. It's a very quick and easy card to make.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  The focal pieces is cut 4" x 5-1/4".

I stamped the flower using Flirty Flaming ink. The flower is one of the smaller ones in the set.

Then I stamped the leaves using Granny Apple Green ink.

The words were stamped next using black Memento ink.

And then a piece of Baker's Twine was tied around the card about 1" up from the bottom and a bow was tied.

Dimensionals were added to the focal piece and then it was set in place on top of the card base.  And the card was done.  So quick and simple!!

If you can find some words that are about the same size, you can use this for other occasions. You really need some larger words in that space or it won't have a nice balance.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today,

Art Gallery, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Surprise again! It's not another strawberry card. Maybe tomorrow!!! LOL  When I saw this card on Pinterest I was drawn by the big flower on the white background within a circle.  It just caught my eye. I'm not a big fan of cards cut like this but I managed to work through it.

The base of the card is a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock that was cut at 5-1/2" 7-1/4" and scored at 4-1/4" and folded. This left an opening on the right side.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was taped to the inside and then a 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package was taped on top of the Basic White piece on the right side. That takes care of the inside.  Now if I wasn't in the mood to make a card layout like this, I would have just cut the piece of DSP and taped it to the front of a regular cut card.

The basic White piece on the front of the card was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  It measured 2-3/4" x 5-1/4".  I glued the piece in place because I didn't feel there was enough flat areas for the tape to stick to and hold in place. I could be wrong but I'd rather glue than tape just to be sure.

I had stamped my flower on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Daffodil Delight for the larger image and Crushed Curry for the smaller highlight image. Then I die cut the piece using the matching die. It's also easy enough to fussy cut, there's not a lot of tough areas to cut.

I die cut a "Stitched Circle" from a piece of Basic White. I used the largest circle in the package. And I also used the largest scallop circle to cut the Flirty Flamingo layer.

The leaves and stem were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on the stitched circle. Then I taped the circles together. I used glue dots to set the circle in place on top of the card front. Be careful not to get any glue on the area that crosses over the DSP.  The original card has the flower stamped on the circle and then the circles set in place using Dimensionals.  I did mine a bit different. I set the flower in place using Dimensionals and the circle was set in place flat.  I thought about adding Dimensionals to the circle but with them on the circle and the flower, it would be kind of thick. So I did it this way and was pleased at how it looked.

I didn't have any Mossy Meadow ribbon but I did have some Mossy Meadow thread left over from a Paper Pumpkin kit so I took two 6-1/2" pieces and tied a bow. I trimmed the ends and set the bow in place on top of the stem using glue. I have not had the best of luck using a tiny glue dot to hold it, it seems to move a round more than I prefer.

The words are from the same "Art Gallery" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I trimmed the piece to 3/8" x 2-1/2".  You could cut the piece first and then stamp on it. I tried it but I can never get it straight on such a thin piece of card stock.  I suppose I could have set it up in the Stamparatus and gotten it straight but I didn't.   The words were set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I REALLY like the looks of this card. It's bright and cheery. I think it would also make a great birthday, get well or Mother's Day card.  It's just pretty.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's card,

Fine Art Floral, Peaceful Moments, My Meadow, Birthday Card

While looking on Pinterest today, I ran across a fun card that used the "My Meadow" set. This is a set I have hardly used at all. I don't even recall adding a card to my blog using this set. So curiosity got the best of me and I had to do a search on my blog. You can search for any card on my blog by going over to the right and scrolling down until you come to the rectangle box that reads "Search this blog". I don't often search my own blog but today I just had to and I was right, I had never used this set. Even if I had made a super ugly card I would have posted it!!! LOL  You can see the card I found on Pinterest by clicking here. I loved the layout.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. The card stock was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side so the piece measured 4-1/4" x 11" and then I scored it at 5-1/2" and folded it on the score line.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" pack. I wanted to find some flowers that would go well with the theme and this is what I came up with.  I taped the DSP to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I did cut the Basic White card stock just a hair smaller so I didn't have to be concerned about the edges of it showing and then there's trimming and hoping you don't cut into the DSP, you know how that goes!  I also took a 3/8" x 4" strip of Mossy Meadow card stock for the band. I didn't have any current Daffodil Delight ribbon so I used some retired stuff.  I could have added an 1/8" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock too but I had the ribbon and I thought I'd use it. I taped the card stock to the DSP and then I added some snail taped the ends of the ribbon and stuck it to the back of the piece. I secured it with scotch tape. Then I taped the piece to the front of the card.

Next I die cut the Basic White and the Mossy Meadow "Stitched Nested Labels" dies. I used the second and third largest for these pieces.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

The frame of the wheel barrow was stamped using black Memento ink. And the grass under it was stamped using Old Olive ink.

Then I stamped the body of the wagon. Once on the stitched label and once on a piece of scrap card stock. I fussy cut the piece on the scrap card stock and added two small trimmed Dimensionals to the back of it.

Next the leaves to the flowers were stamped using Old Olive ink and the flowers were then stamped using Daffodil Delight ink.

The nested label piece was then set in place on the front of the card. This is the part where you add the wagon body you fussy cut out.  I lost mine. I don't know where it went. I even looked on the sleeve of my shirt because that's where most of the things like that end up. So I will be making a new one and adding it later.  Once it's added is when I find the piece I'm looking for. UGH!  Anyway, once the piece is added the front of the card is done.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White is added to the inside and the card is completely done.

This is a very fun, easy and quick card to make. I would think  you could use this image with any floral DSP. It takes 1/6th of a sheet so you get 6 cards from a 12" x 12" sheet.  Nice way to use up a sheet.  Easy and quick too!  Hmmm.  I think I may leave this set out so I can make some more in the near future. I have TONS of floral DSP that needs to be used.

Thank you ever so much for taking your time to stop by and have a look at today's card,

Beautiful Friendship, Butterfly Wishes, Birthday Card

I got an email today and in it was the upcoming retiring list from Stampin' Up!. The "Beautiful Friendship" set was on that list. SO I took out my set and I found a pretty, quick and easy card to make using it. If you click through to the original post you will be able to find the video but there are no measurements so I had to guess. I went to click on the link and my computer froze up. And as usual, I started clicking on the screen and the next thing I knew the page was gone and I couldn't find how to get it back. It wasn't even in my history. UGH.  Anyway, here's how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Blushing Bride card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Basic White piece was cut at4-7/8" x 3-5/8".

First the three small roses were stamped using Blushing Bride ink.  Then the two seed images were stamped. The image was inked up using Blushing Bride ink and the top part was tapped on the Flirty Flamingo pad and then stamped on the card stock. It needs to be cleaned off so it can be repeated for the second one.

The leaves were added using Garden Green in that was stamped off twice and the third time it was stamped onto the card stock. I didn't like it on my card, the green was almost gone and hardly visible so I redid my flowers and used Granny Apple Green for the leaves.

The center of the flowers were stamped using Flirty Flamingo ink.

Granite Gray was used to stamp the words from the "Butterfly Wishes" set. The piece measured 3/4" x 2-1/4".  I clipped the ends but you can use a punch to do them if you have one.

Both pieces were set in place using Dimensionals.

I tied a bow using two 7" pieces of Baker's Twine. The video showed a piece of ribbon that was trimmed and threads pulled to make the bow. I didn't have any of that ribbon so I just used Baker's Twine. I glued the bow in place and added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White on the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. It would also make a great wedding, anniversary, Mother's Day, thinking of you or a get well card. It's very versatile.

Be sure to check out my web store, I plan on putting a lot more stamps for sale in there. I need to downsize, I really have no room for new stuff. www.JustOneMoreBead.com/shop

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to have a look at what I made today,

March 2021 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card, Father's Day Card, Sailing Home, Itty Bitty Greetings

Today I took another try at my March 2021 Paper Pumpkin kit and this is what I came up with.  Last one before I move onto my other stamp sets!!!

The entire background piece is one of the panels included in the kit. I made sure it measured 3-3/4" x 5".  I cut a Basic White piece that measured 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I taped the printed piece to the white piece and then I taped both of those to the card base that is included in the kit.

I stamped the birds in the sky with the stamps from the kit and I used black Memento ink to stamp them.

I added the trees die from the kit using Dimensionals.

The card really needed something in the center so I got out my "Sailing Home" set and I stamped the smaller sail boat and fussy cut it out.  I colored the sky area on the image using my light Seaside Spray Blends pen.  I also colored the boat using the light Calypso Coral Blends pen. I set the boat in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the soon to be retiring "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and were stamped on one of the label pieces from the kit using black Memento ink. I trimmed the label to 2" long. I set the words in place using Dimensionals. and the card was done.

I like this one much better than the one I did on Friday.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's card,

Masculine Birthday Card, March 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Alternative Card

I was SO excited to get my March Paper Pumpkin kit. But I was a bit disappointed in it when I opened it up.  There's several stencils to sponge and some die cut trees. What I did like was that there was an insert for the envelope instead of having to cut up an envelope to get to the printed paper.  But still, I had trouble getting into this kit.

I took one of the cards in the kit and I cut it apart. I ended up with the 3-1/8" x 2-15/16" piece with the sun, mountains, lake and trees.  I layered it on a piece of Seaside Spray card stock that was cut at 3-1/4" x 3". I taped those two pieces together.

Still not knowing where I was going with this, I took one of the flowered envelope inserts and I cut it at 1-5/8" x 4". I also cut a Seaside Spray piece of card stock at 2-3/4" x 4-1/8" and I taped those two pieces together. I set the long piece down and the focal piece on top of the peach colored piece. That piece is the backside of the scored card that came in the kit, it's the back of the focal piece I cut apart.

I saw how plain and open that  left side was so I took the trees stamp from the kit and stamped them using Shaded Spruce ink. And then I taped those two pieces in place.

The kit included some die cut trees, so I set them now on top of the focal piece. I thought some words would work out great on the olive green area so I stamped them using black Memento ink. Then I added the die cut trees using the Dimensionals from the kit.

I thought it was a nice masculine card but it needed some bling. But it was a masculine card. But then again, there are flowers on the card.  UGH, what to do. So I took my Wink of Stella pen and colored over the sun's rays to give them a bit of a twinkle.  And that was it. Not very creative but different than what was in the kit. I have to give the other image in the kit some more thought and see if I can come up with something better.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see today's card,

Sweet Strawberry, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

The "Sweet Strawberry" set is such a fun and cute set. I love the spring feel it has to it.  I found this card on Pinterest and you can see the original card here.

The orientation of my card is different than the original.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I used Garden Green for the base of my card.

The Poppy Parade layer is cut at 3-3/4" x 5" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Berry Delightful" 12" x 12" package was cut at 3-5/8" x 4-7/8". I taped these two pieces together and then I tied a piece of linen tread around them and tied it in a bow.

The Basic White focal panel was cut at 3-3/8" x 2-3/8" and the Poppy Parade piece was cut at 3-3/4" x 2-3/4". The words are from the same "Sweet Strawberry" set and were stamped using Poppy Parade ink. The two layers were taped together.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on top of the card.

The images are from the "Sweet Strawberry" set and were punched out using the matching punch. I stamped the strawberry outline using Poppy Parade ink and I stamped the solid part using Poppy Parade ink on one and then, without inking the image again I stamped it on the other so there would be a light and a dark strawberry.

The stems were stamped using Granny Apple Green for the outline and for the solid part. They were glued to the tops of the strawberries.

The leaves were stamped the same way using Granny Apple Green ink.

The flowers were stamped the same way but using Blushing Bride, Pacific Point, and Seaside Spray inks.

The pieces were taped in place except for two of the flowers, they were set in place using a Dimensional.

Pearls were added to the center of three of the flowers and a few red rhinestones were added on the white part and that was it.

This was a very fun card to make. I love how cheery it looks. It would make a wonderful get well card too. It's just got such a happy feel to it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to look at my cheery card today,
Wanda

Sweet Strawberry, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was to make this card when I ran across it today on Pinterest. I loved the curled corners on the brick background. I loved the white pieces on the sides and the pink strawberries. You can see the original card here.  I didn't find any instructions, so here is how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Blushing Bride that was textured using the "Brick & Mortar" embossing folder. I curled the upper right and bottom left corners and separated the layers. I had three pieces showing. Then I glued this piece to the front of the card. I often glue heavily textured pieces because I find there isn't enough smooth surfaces for the tape to make contact and stick well. Glue does the trick!

I cut a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Vellum. I don't work with Vellum much. I like the look of it and especially on this card. Before I taped it down I die cut the stitched rectangle piece. I used the 4th smallest die in the group of 8 from the "Rectangle Stitched Framelets" pack.  I flipped the vellum piece over and lined up the rectangle behind it so I could see where to put the tape so it wouldn't show. Once the tape was on I set the vellum piece in place. If you don't have the rectangle dies you can cut your piece 2-1/4" x 3-1/2".

I die cut some Basic White greenery from the "Poppy Moments" die set and set them aside.

I didn't have the brassy rings from Stampin' Up!, so I made a ring using Soft Suede card stock and two circle dies. I used the 1-7/8" and 1-5/8" dies.  The ring in the photo looks much darker than it does in real life.  You could always use Crumb Cake card stock too but I think something darker would be better.

Stamped the tiny flowers from the "Sweet Strawberry" set using Blushing Bride ink. This card used 6 flowers. The centers of the flowers were colored in using the light Daffodil Delight Blends pen. You can either fussy cut them or use the matching punch.

The strawberries were stamped using Soft Suede ink for the outline and Flirty Flamingo for the solid part of them. The stems were stamped using black Memento ink for the outline and were stamped using Old Olive ink for the solid part. You can either fussy cut them or use the matching punch. The stems were glued into place on top of the strawberries.

I colored the center area of the stitched rectangle using a Blends pen.

Next I stamped the words using Flirty Flamingo ink.  Then I stamped them again using black memento ink. But I masked off the "happy birthday" so I could just have the "you sweet thing" on the Basic White piece.  Once the "you sweet thing" was stamped I die cut the words using the smallest stitched rectangle in the same rectangle dies package. This rectangle is in the set of four long rectangles. If you don't have these dies you can just cut your piece 1-1/2" x 2-1/2".  Now here's the part I really didn't like. I had to fussy cut the "Happy birthday" words. UGH!  The "Happy Birthday" part was glued to the top part of the rectangle. I only added glue to the bottom area of the "birthday". But now the fussy cutting was all done and I'm ready to assemble my card.

I took the larger stitched rectangle and colored the center using my light Petal Pink Blends pen. It was not the right color but I wasn't going to make another rectangle and I was hoping that once the card was done no one would notice. Now that I told you, you can see it.  Right?   LOL  I added some tape to the back of the rectangle and hovered over the vellum piece so I could see where to add them without them sticking over the sides of the card. I want to make sure I can get my card in the envelope. Once the white die cut pieces were in place, I turned the piece over and added scotch tape to hold them. Then I added Dimensionals on the back and set the piece in place on top of the vellum piece.

I poured a little bit of glue on a piece of waxed paper and folded it in half. I took my bone folder and went over the area to think it out. I set the Soft Suede ring on top of the glue and pressed it down with a clean piece of waxed paper over it. I removed it from the glue and set it in place on the rectangle.

Next the small flowers were added on the left. One was taped down and the other two were set in place using Dimensionals.

Then the strawberries were set in place, both were just taped down.

The word piece came next. It was glued in place. On the backside, I ran a line of glue from the left to the end of the word "thing" and set it on top of the card just above the strawberries. I did tuck it under the right strawberry just a little bit and I made sure the stem didn't cover the words. Using the Tombow multi glue. It gives you a little time to move your piece around before it sets up.

After the word piece was in place, I added the left flower. It needed to be tucked in under the edge so I did this before the glue was completely set up. The flower on the upper part by the words was set in place with a dot of glue too. And the flower between the strawberries was set in place using a Dimensional.

Each of the flowers got a small pearl added to their centers and the card was done.

It took a little time but it was SO worth it. Even without having the same leafy dies, I still like how it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to have a look at this fun card,
Wanda

Sweet Ice Cream, Beautiful Friendship, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Happy to see you here today!  And sorry the card is not one of my favorites!!!  As you know I post them all, the good, the bad and the ugly!  This is kind of between bad and ugly!!!  I think the problem here lies in the length of that lacy frame strip. If it were shorter???  Or maybe I should have made this a triple scoop ice cream cone and it may have filled in that space better??  My original plan was to have three ice cream cones side by side (so the card would be orientated differently), but the frame was too narrow.  Too long one direction and too narrow the other.  Oh well!  Anyway, here's my card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock for the layer on top. I did not tape this piece to the front of the card yet, I needed to cut a circle from it later.

I cut a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package.

Then I die cut the long lacy frame from the "Ornate Layers" dies.  This is a very fun and pretty set of dies. I uses Real Red card stock for this. I also cut a 1-1/16" x 4-1/8" piece of Basic White for the inside of that piece.

The ice cream was made by stamping the image from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set using Soft Sea Foam ink. The sprinkles on it were stamped using Early Espresso ink. Then the piece was punched out using the "Ice Cream Cone Builder" punch.

The cone was made using the DSP from the "Ice Cream Corner" package. But the set also has a cute stamp for the cone and another one for the hash marks. But I used the DSP because I liked it much better because the stamped and punched one has a white border around it and it just wouldn't go well on that white background strip as well as the DSP does.

I stamped the words from the "Beautiful Friendship" set using Real Red ink on Basic White card stock. I die cut them using the third stitched circle from the "Stitched Shapes" framelets. And then I cut a scalloped circle using that piece of Real Red card stock I cut for the first layer.  I taped the word circle to the scalloped circle. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I taped the Real Red piece to the front of the card and the DSP piece on top of that.

Then I taped the Real Red lacy piece in place on the front of the card.

The cone was glued to the ice cream and then Dimensionals were added to the back and the cone was set in place on the lacy piece. The words were then set in place just below and off to the side of the cone.

It looked to plain so I added some of the candy sprinkles that are in the spring catalog. I glued them in place and that was it.  I think it could still use something but I'm not sure what. I probably won't be making another card like this! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to have a look at todays card,
Wanda

Sweet Ice Cream, Ice Cream Corner, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Today I was on the hunt for a quick card using the "Ice Cream Cone Builder" punch. I found this card and thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card here. I changed the words on mine.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I stamped the words from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set using Bermuda Bay ink. I read that post to see where the words needed to go but I didn't see anything there to help me out.  So I stamped them about a half inch from the bottom. Meaning the longer letters were 1/2" from the bottom. I thought I'd leave some room in case I wanted to add "hope it's sweet" wording but I didn't. I liked it as it was.

I didn't know how long to cut the card stock or the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Ice Cream Corner" set. So I guessed on it. I cut my Bermuda Bay card stock at 4" x 4-1/4" so I had room to die cut the curvy piece from the "Curvy Dies" set. Of course I cut mine wrong. I ended up with the dotted part on the piece I was tossing in recycling. UGH.  So when you go to die cut the end of your card stock, look on the back of the die. There's a long blade below the dots.  The blade part is the bottom of the curved piece. So with that in mind I cut my DSP too. I actually counted the dots that hung over the on the curvy die, the ones that hung over the side of the card stock. I counted them so I could match that curve up as much as possible when it came to cutting the DSP.  I cut my DSP 3-3/4" x 4-1/4" just to be sure I had enough length. I knew I would because it could be shorter than the card stock piece but I wasn't taking any chances!

Once I got the two pieces die cut, I die cut the second largest stitched circle die and then I taped the curved pieces together and then I taped them to the front of the card.

The cone was punched out using a piece of DSP in the "Ice Cream Corner" pack that has the lines on it to resemble a cone.  Though you can always stamp the cone and the lines and then punch them out. Or if you don't have the punch, you can fussy cut them because they are clean lines for cutting.

The ice cream was punched from one of the pieces of DSP in the "Ice Cream Corner" pack that has popsicles on it. SO I punched a pink one.

I taped the circle to the front of the card and then I taped the cone on top. The ice cream was added using Dimensionals and the sprinkles from the "Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles" container were glued in place and the card was done.

I like this card, it's bright and cheery and it was very quick and easy to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in hand have a look today,
Wanda

Here's a Card, Flower and Field, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up!

I always laugh when I use the "Here's a Card" set and I put it in the title of my post. It's like announcing "here's a card" when it's actually a set called "Here's a Card".  So here's MY card! LOL

I had a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flower and Field" 12" x 12" 2021 Sale-a-Brations sitting on my worktable.  I'm slowing going through the piles of paper there and using them up.

I thought it would be fun to use the "Medium Daisy" punch with this card since the images are daisy looking flowers.  I punched out two pieces and glued them together. Then I punched out a 3/8" Daffodil Delight circle and glued it to the center of the flower. I set this aside to dry.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White to the inside.

The DSP measures 4" x 5-1/4" and it was taped to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and used the "Curvy" die to cut the top and the bottom.

I took the bottom part and stamped the words from the "Here's a Card" set using black Memento ink. Then I added Dimensionals to the top and bottom pieces and set them in place on top of the DSP.

The petals of the flower were curled using my bone folder. Hold the flower in the center and curl them like you would using curling ribbon except be a bit more gentle or you will rip the petals off. I sponged on a little Balmy Blue ink and set the flower in place using a Dimensional.

I used my dark Balmy Blue Blends pen and colored a few crystal rhinestones and set them in place on the front of the card.  And that was it.

This is a very quick way to make a pretty card. It looks like a lot of time went into it when in fact it took linger to get all the stuff together to make it, including cutting the card stock.

I can see myself making more cards like this with some retired DSP. I should have left the words in my Stamparatus so I could crank out a few. I may set it up tomorrow and just stamp some fronts for another time when I run across more DSP laying around that I just can't seem to let go of.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to see todays card,
Wanda

Sweet Strawberries, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I thought I'd make one more card using the "Sweet Strawberries" set before I put it away until my punch arrives.  I really like this set and it ranks up at the top with my other favorites.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. I had found a 12" x 12" piece in a stash of card stock and I was SO thrilled since my card stock is running low. But I'm not going to be buying anything until the new catalog comes out.  So I have to make do with what I have.  My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it with the new "Painted Texture" embossing folder. Then I cut it at 4" x 5-1/4" and I taped it to the front of the card base.

I cut a 4" x 1-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" Regals Collection package. I taped it about 1-1/2" from the top of the white piece.

I stamped the strawberry from the "Sweet Strawberries" set using black Memento for the outline and Real Red ink for the solid part. The stem was stamped using black Memento for the outline and Garden Green ink for the solid part. And the leaves were stamped using black Memento for the outline and Granny Apple Green ink for the solid part. My card needed 2 leaves. I glued the stem to the strawberry and I set it aside for a few minutes.

I die cut two circles using the third largest "Stitched Circles" die. If you don't have those dies, the circles measures about 1-7/8". Any size that is close to that will work.

The words are from the same "Sweet Strawberries" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I glued the right circle in place about 3/4" down from the top and 3/4" over from the right side. You don't have to be exact with that. Just make sure there's enough room to add the other circle without covering up the words.

The second circle was set in place using Dimensionals and the strawberry was glued in place with the leaves.

I colored some crystal rhinestones using my dark Real Red Blends pen and set them in place around the card front. And that was it.

This was another quick and easy card to make. They will be much easier once my punch arrives. (A little whining here, but it doesn't do any good!!! LOL)

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to check out what I made today,

Sweet Strawberries, Stitched Lace Dies, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I have this feeling that the "Stitched Lace" dies and the "A Little Lace" set will be retiring in a couple of months so I thought I'd look up a card using this die. I hadn't used it much because I thought it was difficult to work with. Not so much difficult as it was fussy cutting the edges, only to find out the other long die in the package was to be used for that cutting.  DUH!  Once I realized that was what it was for, I made a few cards and then forgot about it. But today I found this card that used that die and the new "Sweet Strawberries" set. Win, win! You can see the original card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I am running low on the Real Red card stock so I scaled down the piece so I could use the Real Red as a layer instead of the card base.  I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red and taped it to the front of the card.

The Basic White piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and the lacy piece from the "Stitched Lace" dies was die cut on the edges and taped in place over the Basic White piece. That piece is 3-7/8" long and two "rows" wide. I took some waxed paper and added some white glue to it, then I folded the waxed paper so the glue was on both sides. I took my bone folder and spread the glue inside the folded area. I opened it up and set my lacy piece down on it and picked up the glue. I then set the lacy piece in place on the Basic White piece.

Then I stamped the words from the "Sweet Strawberries" set but I didn't refer to the original card, so my words are down lower but it still worked so I went with it.  Besides, I didn't like gluing the lacy piece and I can't imagine gluing another one. The words were stamped using black Memento ink. I stamped some flowers from the same set using Smoky Slate ink.

The circle is from the "Stitched Circles" dies, it's the third one in that group. I die cut it using Basic White card stock.

The strawberry was stamped from the "Sweet Strawberries" set using black Memento ink for the outline and Real Red ink for the solid part. The stem was stamped using black Memento ink for the outline and Garden Green for the solid part. And the leaves were stamped using black Memento ink for the outline and Granny Apple Green for the solid part. I used two leaves. I didn't have my punch yet (it's still on backorder) so I had to fussy cut them out. I set the strawberry down on the circle using glue. The leaves were then glued in place. I took a toothpick and some white acrylic paint and added a few white dots to the strawberry and a "shine" mark. Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and it was set in place on top of the lacy piece.

I colored some crystal rhinestones with my dark Real Red Blends pen and set them in the center of the flowers and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I love the clean look it has too. There's a gentle calming sweetness to this card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's card,

Sweet Ice Cream, Blossoms in Bloom, Art Gallery, Birthday Card

I took out my "Sweet Ice Cream" set today and then looked on Pinterest for a cute card to make with it.  I ran across this one but the link was a dead end so here's how I made the card. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I didn't have enough Purple Posy card stock to make a full card with it, so I just cut it down and used Basic White card stock for the base.  It's a great way to make that card you like with limited supplies.

I cut the Purple Posy card stock 4" x 5-1/4" and taped it to the card base.

What is fun about a layout like this is that you can use scraps and make them work. My scrap Designer Series Paper (DSP) measured 2-1/2" x 4".  It looked pretty close to the size of the DSP on the original card so I just went with it.  I also cut a 4-1/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock for the layer. I taped the DSP to the gorgeous Grape piece and set it aside.

I stamped the cone using Cajun Craze ink that was stamped off once.  I'm guessing that Spiced Cider ink was used but I didn't buy the in-colors so I needed to work with what I had. I uses Early Espresso for the lines on the cone. I punched it out using the matching punch.

The cone was stamped using Highland Heather that was stamped off once. My Highland Heather sees a bit dark so to make it match or closely match the Purple Posy I stamped off once. Then I took the sprinkles image and Early Espresso ink and stamped it on the ice cream. And I punched out that piece too. I glued the ice cream top to the cone and set it aside.

The words are from the "Blossoms in Bloom" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink. I trimmed the card stock very close to the letters.  The piece was 1/4" when I was done trimming.  I could have cut a 1/4" piece of card stock and stamp on it but I wasn't feeling all that lucky, plus I wasn't sure of the exact size at that point.  I snipped the ends on the words. Then I die cut the layer using the die from the "Art Gallery" bundle. That DSP is from the same "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package. I taped the words to the die cut piece.

I die cut the largest oval die using Basic White card stock.  I taped the ice cream cone to it and then glued on some of the fun colored sprinkles.

I taped the DSP layer onto the front of the card. Then the oval was set in place using Dimensionals. The words were added using Dimensionals only where the piece would touch the oval.  And that was it.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I am sorry I don't know who designed this card but if you do know, please let me know so I can give them credit. This would be a great card for kids and adults alike.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to see this fun card,

Fine Art Floral, Here's a Card, Band Together, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I had a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package and I wasn't sure how to use it on a card. The bottom piece is actually the backside of the top piece.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The piece measured 4-1/4" x 11" before it was folded in half on the long side. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a piece of Calypso Coral card stock 4" x 5-1/4" and I taped it to the front of the card.

The DSP was some leftover pieces that were each 3-3/4" x 3".  I taped the bottom piece on first and then the top piece.

The lacy frame piece is from the "Band Together" bundle and was die cut using Night of Navy card stock.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. There's an oval die in the "Band Together" bundle that fits the space on the lacy framed area. The words were taped to the lacy piece and then the lacy piece was taped to the DSP taped pieces.  And all that was taped to the Calypso Coral piece on the front of the card and that was it.

This is a very quick and easy card to make. The tricky part here is making sure you get the ends of that lacy piece equal on both sides when die cutting it.  But if I hadn't said anything you probably wouldn't have noticed. I just chalk it up to "it's a homemade card" and learn to accept it!

This was a fun card to make and I think I'm going to make some more using some of my retired DSP.  By the time I'm done using up my retired DSP (if that's ever possible) I should have about a million cards.  Right?  LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and have a look at this easy to make card,

Sweet Strawberry, Art Gallery, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

On the 10th of this month I made a card using this layout. I thought it was a fun and quick card to make, plus it really shows off the Designer Series Paper (DSP).  You can see my card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  Then I cut the piece to 4" x 5-1/4".  I taped it to the card base.

The black lacy framed piece is from the "Ornate Layers" dies. I die cut it from a piece of Basic Black card stock.

The DSP on top of the lacy framed piece was cut 2-1/8" x 3-1/2".  I taped it to the lacy piece.

I stamped the strawberry, leaf and strawberry cap from the "Sweet Strawberry" set using back Memento ink. Then I used the solid images and stamped the strawberry in Poppy Parade, the cap in Garden Green and the leaf in Granny Apple Green.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic Black card stock using Versa Mark and then heat set with white embossing powder. I trimmed above and below the words. When I was done trimming the piece measured 3/8" wide and it was 2-3/8" long.

I die cut the third largest stitched circle using Pear Pizzazz card stock. And I die cut a Basic Black scalloped circle that was just a bit larger. I taped the two circles together.

I was now ready to assemble the rest of the card.

I glued the cap on the strawberry and then glued the strawberry in place on the circle. I added glue to part of the leaf and slipped it under the strawberry a bit. Then I glued the circle in place.

I took two pieces of scrap card stock and glued them together. I cut them so they were about 1/8" wide. You don't need a big piece of scrap.  Just big enough to it's 1/8" wide and 1-1/2" long. I glued this to the back of the word piece. I wanted it to be even across the card and not sag on the right because of being attached on part of the circle.  It's like making a card stock Dimensional.

Crystal Rhinestones were added on the circle and the card was done.

You can add some Wink of Stella on the strawberry if you like. I didn't and I don't have any plans of doing it after I'm done posting this.  I'm just leaving it the way it is.

I like how this card turned out and I REALLY like this layout. It's fancy enough and yet quick to make! The best of both worlds!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to have a look at today's creation,

Sweet Strawberry, Berry Delight, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog and Sale-a-Bration

I found this beauty on Pinterest. I loved the strawberry Designer Series Paper (DSP) that was from the retired "Berry Delight" 12" x 12" package. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side. So this piece measures 4-1/4" x 11" before folding in half at 5-1/2". The front of the card was textured using the "Subtle" embossing folder.

The DSP was cut at 3-3/4" x 4-1/4".  Before taping it to the front of the card you may want to wait until you have completed the black strip.

The Basic Black strip was cut from a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock. I marked the right side 1" down from the top corner and I cut from the left corner to the mark on the right side. I marked each side at 1" and cut across to each mark. I laid the strip on top of the card.

Stamp, color and punch (or fussy cut) your strawberries from the "Sweet Strawberry" set using black memento ink for the outline, Poppy Parade for the strawberries and garden green for the stems. I glued the stems to the strawberries and I set them on top of the strip to see where the words would go.

The words are from the "Sweet Strawberry" set and were stamped using Versa Mark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

The strip was then taped to the front of the card. Make sure the DSP is not showing on the left side of the card. If it is you can either trim some away or you can move the strip up a bit.

The strawberries were added and a few crystal rhinestones were set in place. I colored mine using the dark Real Red Blends pen. And the card was done.  This is a very quick and easy card to make. I may use this layout for some retired papers. It seems to use up a nice piece of the DSP.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see what I worked on today,

Sweet Strawberries, Art Gallery, Floating Frame Stamping Technique

I found a very beautiful card that used a technique I'd never hears of before.  It's called the "Floating Frame" technique.  It's kind of time consuming but SO worth it. There is a video for you to follow along to make this card. You can see that video
here.   I have a few tips for you too.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. But to begin your card you can use a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock. Then you don't have to worry about getting the actual card base dirty.

You will be stamping all of the elements from the "Sweet Strawberries" set and punching them out. If you don't have the matching punch, you can fussy cut the pieces. I borrowed a friends punch so I could make this card. My punch is on backorder and is not here yet. This is a very popular set. I like it because it will cover several occasions. My strawberries were stamped using Poppy parade ink. The tops were stamped using Garden Green. The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green and the flowers were stamped using Flirty Flamingo ink. All of the outline images were stamped using black Memento ink.

Once you have all the pieces stamped and cut out, you need to add the tops to the strawberries. Be sure to glue the two front pieces of the tops down. I added glue to those two pieces and a bit to the top of the strawberry and then put the pieces together.

Next the pieces were set on top of the Basic White piece. Once all of the pieces were in place you will need to take a piece of Press n Seal or masking paper. I didn't have any masking paper but I had plenty of Press n Seal. I would recommend that you tape the Press n Seal to a piece of copier paper. Cut it 5" x 7" so you have something to hold onto. You will be trimming it down later.  With your copier paper taped to the Press n Seal, you will set the sticky side down on top of the pieces you just laid out.  Turn it over and press the pieces onto the Press n Seal. Now you can trim the piece. I did it on my paper cutter.

In the video she removes the card base so she could make sure none of the pieces were overlapping. I would do it by feeling the piece first. Don't remove the card stock unless you absolutely have to because you will need to put it back on and I found that a bit difficult to do. I suppose you could draw on the Press n Seal to know where the edges are so you can line it up again. Then you can trim the pieces that are hanging over the edges. Then you remove the card base or the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock so you can cut the rectangle out of the center. The 5th largest rectangle was used from the "Rectangle Stitched Framelets" set.

Taking the frame piece (not the center), turn it over and cover all the pieces with Dimensionals.  LOTS of Dimensionals, both large and small and tiny hand cut ones. You want to make sure that these pieces stick when it's time to remove the Press n Seal.

Once all the Dimensionals are on you remove the backing on them.  Then you will put the piece on top of your card base.

Wink of Stella was added to the sides of the strawberries and crystal rhinestones were set in place in open areas.

The words are from the "Sweet Strawberries" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I set the card up in my Staparatus because I don't trust my black ink pad. I was right not to trust it, I had to ink the words twice to get them nice and dark and solid. And that card was done.  But this is a bonus technique because you have that center square that was die cut.

For the bonus card you will need to die cut two rectangles at the same time. They are the 2nd and 3rd largest stitched rectangles. Basic White card stock was used for this. This piece was then glued to the front of your second card base.

The rectangle piece was done like the frame piece, Dimensionals all over the place. Then it was set in place on the center of the card. Wink of Stella and rhinestones were added too.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. It was trimmed close to the words. It measured 3/8" x 2". A Dimensional was added under the "H" and "p" in Happy and glue was added to the rest of the piece. It was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

Isn't it SO pretty?  I want to just keep them!!! I suppose I should make another one so I can actually use it instead of keep it!  Let's just hope something better comes along and I can let go of these! Give this technique a try. It will work with any images that are around the size of these pieces.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to check out this pretty card and technique today,

Forever Fern, Here's a Card, Thank You Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I opened up Pinterest and this card was the first one I saw and I thought I would save it to make another day.  But then I thought, why wait?  I would just forget about it anyway unless it would keep popping up in Pinterest. I save cards and other things but I rarely go back and look at my folders! I guess I'm a here and now type person.  I found this card here and I did change it a little. Clicking on the photo only led me to the card with a black background.  So here is how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I textured a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  Once it was textured I cut it down to 4" x 5-1/4".  Some textures tend to make the piece a bit smaller so I like to texture first and then cut to the size I need.  I taped this piece to the front of the card.

Next I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and stamped the image from the "Forever Fern" set was stamped using Old Olive ink and then the images were die cut using the 4th die in the set of 8 dies from the "Rectangle Stitched" dies set.

Another one of the same image was stamped on Basic White card stock using Shaded Spruce ink,  It was die cut using the matching die.

I tied a double linen bow and set it aside. I had to set it aside because I needed to moisten it to get the curls out of it.  I probably should have done that first but by the time the card was assembled, it was dry enough.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set and were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink. Then die cut using the smallest "Stitched Circle" die.

The Shaded Spruce piece of card stock was punched using the "Label Me Fancy" punch. Most of it is taped behind the rectangle piece. I could have used just a rectangle piece but  I thought some edging showing would be fun.

I taped the Shaded Spruce punched piece to the back of the stitched rectangle piece and then added Dimensionals to the stitched rectangle piece. I set it in place on top of the textured piece.

The Shaded Spruce die cut image was set in place on top of the Old Olive images using Dimensionals.

The bow was set in place on the stem using a couple of small glue dots.

The words were set in place using both tape and Dimensionals. The Dimensionals were added on the right side and bottom and the tape was added to the upper left area.  And that was it.

This was a very easy and quick card to make. I think it took me longer to get all the stuff out to make it than it did to actually sit down and do it. I really love using this set and hope to get some more use out of it before I find some other set that I glom onto and say it's my favorite.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see what I found today,

Peaceful Moments, Hydrangea Hill DSP, Sympathy Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I was cleaning off a space on my worktable.  It was only a space, not the whole table (which needs it badly!) and I had two pieces of scrap from the "Hydrangea Hill" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12" pack. I was going to put them in recycling but I had picked them up pretty much the way you see them on the card and thought that they would work together well and make a quick card.

The base of the card is folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I taped the more solid looking piece on first. It measures 4" on the left side and 3-7/8" on the bottom.

The rectangle piece measures 1-3/4" x 4".

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Highland Heather ink. They were die cut using the third (of four) "Stitched Circle" Framelets.

A Highland Heather scalloped circle was die cut, it was just a hair larger than the stitched circle. The two circles were taped together and then set in place on top of the card using Dimensionals.

A few pearls were added and the card was done.

This is a fun way to use up scraps, especially ones that almost made it to the recycling bin and now they are part of a card!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and see what I did today

Band Together, Hydrangea Hill DSP, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Third time is a charm.  So they say!  When I finished putting this card together I took a phot of it. Then I noticed that the ribbon ends were facing up instead of down. SO, I took the bow that I tied off and added a new one, making sure the ends were pointing downward.  I took another photo.  I forgot to add the pearls. SO I set up everything to take another photo.  After that I really examined my card to make sure I didn't need to take yet another photo!!!  It was good to go. So here's how I made it.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock.  This piece was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side so after it was cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 5-1/2" and folded it in half. I don't usually score my cards but sometimes I do when the orientation is like this. Folding against the grain of the card stock can sometimes be difficult.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock and I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hydrangea Hills" 12" x 12" package.

The words are from the "Band Together" set (which I'm pretty sure will be retiring this year) and I stamped them using black Memento ink. I stamped directly onto the DSP.

I taped the DSP to the Gorgeous Grape piece and I taped ends of a 6" piece of ribbon to the back. I used scotch tape to hold the ribbon in place.  I didn't have any current ribbon so I used some stuff that I had on hand. Then I affixed the piece to the front of the card base. I slipped a piece of ribbon under the taped ribbon and I tied a knot. I like this method because I don't have to worry about getting my knot in the center of the card. I can slide it in place when I'm done. I also added a small glue dot under the knot to hold it in place. I wanted it in the center and I didn't want it to move.

Next I colored three pearls using the dark Highland Heather Blends pen and I set them in place on the front of the card.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This card went together so quickly. I liked it that the DSP had such a nice open space on the top so words could be stamped directly to it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see what came off my worktable today,
Wanda

Peaceful Moments, Fine Art Floral DSP, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Here's a perfect way to use up some Designer Series Paper (DSP) and make a bunch of cards at the same time. It's quick and easy too.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Blushing Bride card stock. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Blushing Bride card stock and textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. Then I cut it to 4" x 5-1/4".

Next I die cut the Mossy Meadow frame piece using the die from the "Ornate Layers" that was part of the "Ornate Style" bundle.

The DSP is from the "Fine Arts Floral" 12" x 12" package. I cut it at 3-1/2" x 2-1/8".  I glued it in place on top of the frame piece using Tombow mono glue.  You can tape yours but I wanted to make sure I was able to move the piece around a bit to get it centered before it was set in place permanently.

The frame piece was set in place on top of the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped on Basic White using black Memento ink. I used the smallest rectangle in the set of 8 "Rectangle Stitched" Framelets. There's 13 dies in that set, one single small almost squarish one, 4 long rectangle ones and 8 graduated rectangles. It's a fun set to have. Once the words were die cut I set them in place using glue on the upper part and Dimensionals on the lower part. You really do need to add the Dimensionals to the lower part or it will sag. I slipped the Dimensional under the frame piece. Enough sticky showed through to make contact with the word piece. Plus even if it didn't stick, the glue will and the piece won't sag. Kind of a win win!

I didn't have any current ribbon so I used some that I had on hand and I tied a bow and glued it in place.

A large rhinestone was added to the upper corner of the word piece. And to finish off the card, I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White to the inside and I was done.

Now I'm going to dig out a bunch of my old retired DSP and make some cards using this layout. I can use up a lot of DSP this away!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and see what I was up to today,
Wanda

Art Gallery, Hydrangea Hill DSP, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I was looking for a card that used the new "Double Oval" punch. I only bought the punch and not the stamp set that matches it. I figured I had enough word stamps that would fit in that opening on the punch. I had to budget so I needed to pick one, the set or the punch. The punch won!  Anyway, I found the original card here, I changed it just a little.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. The piece before folding measured 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hydrangea Hill" 12" x 12" pack. It was cut at 4" x 2-1/4". It was cut at 2-1/4" because I had used a piece on another project and that was the width that was left, so I figured I could work with it.

The top piece on the card is Highland Heather that was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I embossed and then I cut it. I didn't want it to shrink after texturing, so I texture first and then cut. I cut that piece at 4" x 2-1/2".

The Basic Black strip in the middle hides where the two pieces meet or don't meet. It measures 4-1/4" x 1".

The focal piece is Basic White and measures 2-1/2" x 3-3/4". The Highland Heather layer behind it measures 2-3/4" x 4" and the Basic Black piece measures 3" x 4-1/4".  Before I taped the Highland Heather layer to the Basic Black layer, I punched out the ovals from it. I had to punch both but it's okay, I had to make sure I punched away from the edges so I could still use the piece. The ovals that are left over can be used for a future card or stashed away and forever forgotten (like many of the extra pieces that get cut or punched!!! LOL).

The flower is from the "Art Gallery" set. I inked up the larger flower image using Highland Heather and I stamped off once. It was too dark to use at full strength! Then I stamped the detailed image using Highland Heather at full strength. The stem and leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink. Once the stamping was done the Basic White piece was taped to the Highland Heather layer and they were set in place on top of the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of scrap Highland Heather that was left from making the layer behind the Basic White piece. I punched it out using the "Double Oval" punch. Then the word piece was taped to the front of the card.

My ribbon is retired but it's Highland Heather in color so I used it.   I tied a bow and set it in place using two small glue dots. One larger one would work but I have a bunch of small ones left over from my Paper Pumpkin kits, so I thought I would use them up.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was finished.

This was a fun card to make. It was easy enough and I can see myself making more in the near future. I have some DSP to use up and this is a nice way to use it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and have a look at what I made today,

Sweet Ice Cream, Peaceful Moments, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I was on Pinterest looking for something else when I ran across this fun card. It's so sweet looking. Plus it's a great card for an adult or a child. You can see the original card here. I'm still up in the air about adding the candy dots or not. I may add them on the flatter areas so they are not higher than the Dimensionals.

The base of the card is a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece Basic White card stock.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock and used the new "Stitched with Whimsy" dies. I used the second largest one for this card. This piece was taped to the front of the card.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" package.  I cut it at 4" x 1-3/4".  I'm hoping to use all of this DSP by the end of May when it retires.  But at this rate it's going to last forever!!! LOL  I taped the DSP on top of the Petal Pink piece.

Then a scalloped rectangle from the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies was cut using the second largest die on Basic White card stock. This piece was taped in place overlapping the DSP.

The cone was punched out using one of the designs in the DSP.  The ice creams were stamped using Petal Pink ink with Pumpkin Pie sprinkles, Highland Heather ink that was stamped off once and Highland Heather sprinkles, and the last one was stamped using Soft Sea Foam with Early Espresso sprinkles. They were all punched out using the matching punch in the "Sweet Ice Cream" bundle, or you can order them separately. I ran a line of glue across the top of the cone and added the Petal Pink ice cream. I added some glue to the top of that ice cream and set the Highland Heather one in place and I did the same for the Soft Sea Foam one.  I added Dimensionals to the back

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink. They were then cut out using the 1-3/8" circle die. I added Dimensionals to the back.

The ice cream cone was set in place first and then the word piece was tucked under it just a little. And the card was done.

Super cute and super sweet, huh?  Such a nice find on Pinterest!!

Sweet Ice Cream, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I set my Sale-a-Bration sets aside for a bit so I could play with the other items that I bought that allowed me to earn those Sale-a-Bration items.  One of them was the "Sweet Ice Cream" set and the matching punch. Yup, a punch and not a die cut set. And you could get by with just the set and fussy cutting, there's not a lot of major corners and lines, mostly straight lines and a few large bumps but I'd still rather punch than fussy cut. I also bought the Designer Series Paper (DSP) "Ice Cream Corner" to go with the set and punch. I found this fun card here and made it with what I had.

The base of the card is an 11" x 4-1/4" piece of card stock and was folded in half. You can score at 5-1/2" if you like, I just tend to fold most of my cards without scoring.

The DSP was cut at 3" x 3" and the layer behind it was cut at 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" using Blackberry Bliss card stock. I taped the DSP to the layer. I didn't have the same ribbon that was used on the original card so I used some ribbon I had on hand. It wraps around the piece and then is tied on the side using a piece of linen. I taped my ribbon on the back so it didn't move and I also added a little tape to the area under the ribbon where the cone will go, then I tied it together. It helped it from moving around too much.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

The words are from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set and were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. I did set the square piece on top for placement of the words before I stamped them.

The cone was punched from the backside of one of the pieces of DSP. The ice cream was stamped using Granny Apple Green ink and the sprinkles were stamped using Blackberry Bliss ink. The ice cream was punched out and glued to the cone. I placed my glue on the upper part of the cone and then added the ice cream. I added Dimensionals to the back.

I set the square in place and then the ice cream cone on top and the card was done. The original card added some of the candy sprinkles but I omitted them because the background on the DSP has plenty of sprinkles. And I'm planning on making some shaker cards so I'm going to save mine for that.

This was a fun and cute card to make. It's great for adults and kids too.

Sweet Strawberry, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I have been having fun playing with the "Sweet Strawberry" set from the 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog. Today's card is a quick and easy card to make.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and I die cut the opening using the "Stitched Square" dies. I used the second largest one. I also saved the square to use as my focal piece.  After cutting the square, I textured it using the "Subtle" embossing folder.

I took the square that was die cut out and colored the piece using an aqua painter, some distilled water and my Granny Apple Green ink pad. I made sure the brush was wet, not soaking but not just damp either. You don't want to add water to your ink pad. I rand the brush over the piece of card stock covering the center area. I set it aside to dry. Once it looked dry enough, I turned it over so it could dry flat.  While it was drying, I went on to other elements of the card.

I stamped the strawberry using Poppy Parade ink. I stamped the outline image twice (with it set up in my Stamparatus) and I stamped the solid part inking it up just once. I did the same for the top of the strawberry. I used Garden Green ink there.  And I fussy cut the two pieces. I will be SO happy when my punch arrives.

The words are from the same "Sweet Strawberry" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. The piece was trimmed to 2-3/8" x 9/16".

I used the "Classic Label" punch to punch out a Garden Green piece for the ends of the word piece. I cut the punched label piece in half, it's not long enough to go all they way across the back. I taped the label pieces in place on the back of the word piece.

I took the textured piece and set it on top of the front of the card. Then I took the stitched square and taped it in place over the opening. I did this so the square would be set squarely on the front of the card.

Once the square was taped down (oh and I would recommend the Tombow Multi glue for that because my paper did warp some from the water and it didn't flatten 100%. Glue would have held it down better), I set the embossed piece in place using Dimensionals.

Then the strawberry was set in place using Dimensionals and so were the words.  And the card was done.

I do like how it turned out. It's got such a nice clean look to it and the only thing I would do differently is to glue the square down instead of taping it.
