The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock. I wasn't paying attention because Pool Party is the color in the daisies. But Balmy Blue worked fine too.
A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the layer that will be placed on top of the card base.
I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flower & Field" 12" x 12" Sale-a-Bration pack at 3" x 3-7/8". I like the daisies in this pack. It will be taped to the left side of the card.
Then a 2-3/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Balmy Blue card stock. I had textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. My piece of card stock was a bit larger. I like to have it larger than the piece I need because I have had it shrink on me. Sometimes the texture will use up some of the paper and make it a bit smaller. So to be safe, I just make it larger, emboss it and then cut it. This piece will be taped on top of the Basic White piece, overlapping the DSP.
The bird was stamped right in the middle of the Basic White piece that will be going on top of the card base. Or you can use a separate piece of card stock. The bird was stamped using black Memento ink. And the solid stamp for the bird was inked up with Balmy Blue and then stamped over the bird.
The words were stamped using black Memento ink and then the bird was cut using a 2-1/8" circle die and a Balmy Blue scalloped circle was cut just a bit larger than the Basic White one. The two circles were taped together and the card was assembled. The circles were set in place with Dimensionals and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was taped to the inside and the card was done.
This was a fun card to make and I am SO loving that DSP. After I added the photo to this post, I thought that the card could use a little sparkle so I put some Wink of Stella in the center of the flowers. It's very pretty.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to stop by, Wanda
