The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Misty Moonlight card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
I took the pretty flower edge die from the "Ornate Border" dies and die cut them using a 5-1/2" x 2-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock.
Then I cut a 5-1/2" x 3" piece of the rose DSP. I also cut a 5-1/2" x 3" piece of copier paper and I taped it to the back of the DSP. I just wanted the DSP needed to be stiffer for when the ribbon would be added.
The Basic White piece was taped to the back of the DSP piece, leaving about 1/4" of it showing at the top. The Basic White piece does not go all the way down to the bottom of the card.
I didn't have any Misty Moonlight ribbon but I did have some black sparkly ribbon that was retired so I used that instead. Just trying to use up what I have so I can justify buying more later on down the road. The ribbon was cut about 6-3/4" long. Tape was added to the ends and stuck to the back of the piece. I used scotch tape to hold them in place.
The piece was taped to the front of the Misty Moonlight card base.
I also thought the card could use some words so I stamped the "Thinking of You" from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set using black Memento ink.
The words were stamped using the second smallest Stitched die. The scalloped oval was cut using the die that was just a little larger than the stitched one. The ovals were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back and set in place on the card.
A bow was tied from the same ribbon and set in place using a larger glue dot and the card was done.
Isn't it pretty? I'm sure any edging you use would be pretty with this card but the roses seemed to fit with the DSP.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today, Wanda
Very Pretty!
ReplyDeleteI've been so busy trying to use up some old dp and use "old" items that I haven't even gotten into the packages of new designs. I have the Flowers & Field and plan on pulling it out today. Your card is very pretty.
