Darling Donkeys, Birthday Card, 202 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I believe I have used all three of the donkeys in the "Darling Donkeys" stamp set. I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I got stuck in a loop when I clicked on the photo in the link. I was hoping to find some directions but I didn't, so here is how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  

I took the largest "Stitched Rectangle" die and die cut a quarter piece of Basic White card stock. 

I took a 2" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package.  I lined up the bottom of the DSP to the bottom of the die and I ran it through my Big Shot. I needed to have stitching on the two sides and the bottom.  I taped the DSP to the bottom of the Basic White piece.

Next a piece of linen thread. Mine was some thicker stuff that was left over from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit.  I added some double sided taped to the backside of the Basic White piece and stuck the thread to it. Then I secured the thread with scotch tape. The piece was then taped to the front of the card base.  

The donkey from the "Darling Donkeys" set was stamped using black Memento ink and fussy cut out. Then he was colored in using both light and dark Smoky Slate Blends pens. And his muzzle and ears were colored in using the light Petal Pink Blends pen. 

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Versa Mark on a scrap piece of Night of Navy card stock. They were embossed with white embossing powder and heat set. They were punched out using the "Classic Label" punch.  I snipped the center point about 1/4" in. Then I snipped the points on the sides where the snip ended.  That made it have that ribbon look and it was even on both sides.  The other end of the words was cut straight across.

The words and the donkey were set in place using Dimensionals. I had some retired dots that I added to the front of the card.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I'm going to miss this set, it retires today but that's not to say I might use it a few more times before I put it in my web store.
