Sweet Ice Cream, Daisy Lane, Flowers & Fields, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I saw this pretty card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. I love daisies and there was just something about this card that I was drawn to. I has a calm sweet look to it. You can see the original card here.  There is a link to a video that you can follow along to make the card. I found the video helpful but yet was not thrilled with it because it had been streamed live and there's a lot of "hello's" to people watching and commenting. I like to watch videos that are just instructions. I don't have a lot of time for the chat. I did fast forward through a lot of it.  I will give you the measurements if you prefer not to watch the video.  You can see the original card here.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  On top of the front of the card is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crushed Curry. I did not have the Honeybee card stock that is used in the original card.  On top of that is a piece of Granny Apple Green that was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/4" and textured with the "Old World Paper" embossing folder. I took a quarter sheet of the card stock and embossed it first and then I cut it to size. Sometimes embossing can make the piece smaller.  I have learned that the hard way so now I always emboss first and then cut. I glued that piece in place because I find that tape doesn't hold well because you don't get a solid surface contact with the textured piece.

Next the Basic Black piece on top was cut 3-1/4" x 4-1/4". And the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flowers & Fields" 12" x 12" paper pack. It was cut 3" x 3".  I set the piece on top of the small Basic Black piece to see where the words should go. On the original card the words were moved over to the right a bit. I forgot to do that. But you can still see it's a Thank You card so it worked out fine.  I stamped the words from the "Sweet Ice Cream" set (there's a lot of nice sized words in that set with pretty fonts) and I used Versa Mark to stamp them. Then I sprinkled on white embossing powder and heat set it.

Then the DSP was taped in place. I didn't have the Bumblebee ribbon so I used some retired ribbon I had. I love using some of my retired stuff but I just can't seem to use it up. And when you're cutting it 3-1/2" at a time it will take a VERY long time to use it up!!! LOL  So I cut the left side straight and the right side at an angle and when I was done the piece measured 3-1/2". I taped it along the edge of the DSP so I could get it straight.

The Basic Black panel with the DSP on it was then set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.  

The flower is from the "Daisy Lane" set. Balmy Blue ink (stamped off once) was used to stamp the small flower, twice. Then it was put together in a way I've never put a two piece daisy together. The Dimensional was set on top of the flower and then the next piece was set on top. I found it a little bit more difficult to line up but once I got it lined up it gave it a fun look.  I may have to try that again sometime.  

I did not use a heart for the center of the daisy, I just punched a 3/8" circle.  I glued the circle in place.  Then I glued the flower in place.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I'm pleased with how mine turned out.
