Forever Fern, Here's a Card, Thank You Card

Still playing with the "Forever Fern" set.  I love  using this set and I have seen SO many pretty cards with it and I've made up a few on my own.  Yup, hard to believe, huh?  LOL  Today's card was found on Pinterest. I did my best to copy it using what I had. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black was cut for the layer. And the Whisper White focal piece was cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I stamped the "thanks" from the "Here's a Card" set using black Memento ink.  I was trying to find a "thank you" but I didn't have any sets that have the two words so I had to use the "thanks" from a current set. I'm not fond of the word "thanks". I believe you should go the extra word!!!  LOL   Anyway, this is what I ended up using.

I stamped the leaf bunches from the "Forever Fern" set using Mossy Meadow ink. And I actually got to use the two smaller clusters of leaves in the set. You can see them just under the flower at the 4 and 7 o'clock positions.

I stamped the rounded ones using Crushed Curry ink.  The original card used the new Honey Bee color but I didn't have it so I used what I had that was the closest and that was Crushed Curry.

I punched the flower using the large "Daisy" punch.  I punched three of them using Whisper White and I glued the centers together.  You might want to do the flower first so the glue has time to set up.  Once the glue was set up I sponged on some Crushed Curry ink in the center of the flower. I also add dots using my Basic Black marker. I pressed the center of the flower in the palm of my hand and I pressed it down using my knuckle.  I then took a smooth pen and curled the petals on the flower.

I took some retired ribbon and taped the ends around the back of the two taped layers.  Then I began adding the leaf cluster. I stared with the top left one. Then added the next Mossy Meadow one to the right of it. Then the bottom one was added.  The small Mossy Meadow leaf clusters were added using Dimensionals towards the stem. That gives the cluster the "freedom" to look like it's floating. The Crushed Curry ones were added last.

I didn't have the metal ring that was used on the original card, so I took some cording and wrapped it around a 1-3/4" toothpick holder I have sitting on my worksurface.  I taped the ends so it would stay together and then I taped it in place before I set the flower in place.

The flower was then set in place using a Dimensional.  You might want to tape the Basic Black and focal layer piece on the front of the card base before you add the flower. I didn't and it was a okay but it it would have been easier to tape without the flower. If you are using glue then it won't matter, you don't need to press down with the glue like you do with the tape.  And the card was done.  It's SO pretty.

I need to make a couple more to send out. This was a fun card to make and I REALLY do like how it looks. Especially with that fun flower.

Thank you ever SO much for taking the time to stop by today and have a look,                                      Wanda
