Today I ran across a pretty card on Pinterest and I had most of the stuff to make it so I thought I'd go ahead and give it a try. Here is how I made mine.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Gray Granite. Before you tape the Gray Granite piece to the card base, die cut the smallest "Scalloped Circle" from the "Layering Circles" framelits dies set. Set it aside for now.
I took a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White and I textured it using the "Old World Paper" embossing folder. But I would recommend cutting the card stock larger. Once the piece was embossed it was sorter on the top/bottom. You can always cut it to 3-3/4" x 5" after. I taped the textured piece to the Gray Granite piece.
Next I stamped three of the leaf cluster images from the "Forever Fern" set using Gray Granite ink.
I also stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set. I masked off the "at Christmas" on the stamp and just stamped the "Thinking of you". I really liked the font and masking off the other words was easy and quick to do. Just grab a post it note or even some scotch tape and tape off the words you don't like. Washi taped works well too. I don't use scotch tape unless I'm out painters tape, post it notes, post it note tape or Washi tape because scotch tape can leave sticky residue behind. It takes longer to clean it off but it is usable in a pinch. Anyway, I inked up the words with Gray Granite ink, removed the tape and stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I die cut the piece with the smallest "Stitched Circle" die. I taped the stamped piece to the scalloped circle and I set it aside.
The butterfly is from the "Butterfly Wishes" set using Flirty Flamingo ink. I punched it with the matching punch.
Then I took some gold cord and wrapped it around my fingers 3 times and I used a couple of glue dots to secure the loose ends. I arranged the circles a bit and then began taping down the leaf bunches. The one on the left was added first, then the one on the right. The smaller one was added using Dimensionals.
I added Dimensonals to the butterfly and to the word circle and set them in place.
For a final touch I took my Wink of Stella pen and gave the butterfly a bit of shimmer and the card was done.
I think it turned out just fine. I like the looks of it.
Thank you SO very much for taking the time to stop by today and have a look,
Wanda
Love the subtle color and the pop of color with the butterfly!
