The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
I took a 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White and I textured it using the "Subtle" embossing folder. Then I cut it at 5-1/4". I cut a 1-1/4" strip and a 1-3/4" strip.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Ice Cream Corner" 12" x 12" pack. I cut a 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" strip. You can cut yours smaller if you want, I just wanted to make sure I got the colors in the viewing area.
I set the DSP down on my card front first and then the two textured strips so I could see where the DSP needed to be moved to get the best view. I taped the DSP down and then the panels were set in place using Dimensionals.
The flower is from the "A Touch of Ink" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I colored in the leaves using Old Olive Blends and the flower was colored in using the Pool Party Blends. The DSP package read that one of the colors in the set was Bermuda Bay and that may be one of the colors in the background but it was too dark to color the flower in with. I was going to use a Blender pen and marker but that is just too much work and besides, my Blender pens are not as juicy as I'd like them to be and I didn't have time to refill them. Which I should do after I'm done posting this so they are ready the next time I need them.
So after coloring the flowers and leaves, I die cut them using the second largest "Stitched Oval" die. Then I die cut a scalloped oval die that was just a little bit larger. I taped those two pieces together.
The words are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I die cut them using the smallest "Stitched Circle" and then I die cut an Old Olive scalloped oval just a little bit larger. I had a scrap piece but I could have used the center of the scalloped oval to die cut one, there was plenty of room to make that happen. Just a little FYI for you there. I taped the circles together.
I had taped the oval to the front of the card but it wasn't sticking very well because of the texture of the panels and the center was open so there wasn't a lot of contact space. I ended up gluing it on. I just added glue to the sides and set it in place.
For the circle, I glued it too but I did cut two small 1/4" x 1/4" (maybe smaller than that) pieces of Old Olive scrap and I taped them together. I did trim them so they were more even on each side. I taped it to the circle where it touched the panel. Then I glued the circle in place on top of the oval and the panel. I needed to make that double layer square because I didn't want the circle to droop and using a Dimensional would make it stick up too high. And once the words were on the card was done.
This was a very quick and easy card to make. And like I said, the next time I use the flower I will give the two step stamping a try!!!
Thank you SO much for taking your time today to stop by and have a look, Wanda
