Flight of Fancy, Christmas Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Today's card I think is a sweet one. I ran across this on the internet and it dawned on me that I have not use the "Flight of Fancy" set very much and I'm sure it will retire when the Holiday Catalog retires next week. I did make a few little changes. You can see the original card here

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card was cut on the 8-1/2" side of the full sheet of card stock and it was folded at 5-1/2". It opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

The first thing I did was die cut the second largest stitched scalloped rectangle from from the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies. I cut it first because I had to measure the inside for the Whisper White piece.  That piece measures 3-9/16" x 2-1/8". You want the cute stitching to show so you need to make sure you cut it the right size.

I stamped the angle from the "Flight of Fancy" set using black Memento ink.  I colored in the image using my Blends pens. The original card used watercolor pencils and a blender pen. I am not sure if my colored pencils are current or not and I'm not fond of using them. When I color, I like to be done coloring. With watercolor pencils you color and then you either use a blender pen or an aqua painter after. So I opted for the Blends pens. I used the light Daffodil Delight, light and dark Petal Pink, light and dark Sea Side Spray, light Soft Suede and Bronze.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set. They were stamped using black Memento ink. Then I taped the piece to the scalloped rectangle piece.

I cut three strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brightly Gleaming" 12" x 12" pack.  I cut them 3/4" wide by 4-1/2" long.  I didn't have the same DSP that was used in the original so I just took what I had and made it work.

I added a little snail tape to the center of the middle strip and stuck my gold cord to it, creating loops. I also taped the center of the cord down using scotch tape (the rectangle image will hide it).

The focal piece was added and the card was done. So I thought. After posting the photo here I realized I forgot to add the star sequins from the "Snowflake Sequins" container.  I was able to order more on clearance last week.  I think they are fun and I wanted to have more for some future shaker cards. So I will be adding the star shaped ones from the container after I get done posting this.

So, after you are done adding the sequins (or not), the card is done.  The coloring takes the longest to do but it wasn't bad.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by and have a look today,
Wanda
