The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
A Real Red piece was cut next and measured 4" x 5-1/4". Then I cut a piece of Whisper White at 3-3/4" x 5". I used the dotted die from the "Curvy Dies" pack and die cut my Whisper White piece. The die was set about 2-1/8" on the left and 2-1/4" on the right side.
The DSP is from the "Heartwarming Hugs" 12" x 12" pack and it was cut at 5" x 2-1/4". You may want to measure to make sure this piece is wide enough in case you didn't get the Whisper White piece cut just right. Before I taped the DSP to the Real Red piece I punched out four flowers using the "Small Bloom" punch. I didn't have the flowers that were used in the original card so this is what I was able to come up with. Maybe some of the flowers from the September Paper Pumpkin kit, just flip them over and color them with the Real Red marker or Blends pen. This was SO much easier because I had the punch. Make sure you punch deep enough into the card stock so it doesn't show through once you add the DSP. After punching I taped the DSP in place at the bottom, leaving a 1/8" border.
I took the Whisper White die cut piece and stamped the leaves from the "Quite Curvy" set. They were stamped using black Memento ink. Then I stamped the words from the "Curvy Christmas" set using Real Red ink. I didn't have the Call Me Clover Blends pens so I used the light and dark Shaded Spruce Blends pens. Color in the leaves with the light first and then color in the centers using the dark pen. Once the coloring was done I taped the piece on top of the Real Red piece. Then I taped that to the front of the card.
I took the flowers and set them in the palm of my hand and I took the rounded end of my ink pen and pushed the center into the palm of my hand to give the flowers a bit of an up curl. Then I glued them in place with some mono liquid glue. I didn't have the flower centers that were used on the original card and I was considering just punching some Whisper White dots to glue down but I found some retired candy dots and used them. And that was it, the card was done. Pretty cute huh?
I like how it turned out, even though the leaves are not holly they will pass for it!
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today and have a look, Wanda
