The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White for the top layer. You don't need to do this but I did because I wanted to make sure that when I added the DSP and the Whisper White piece that it would measure 4" x 5-1/4".
The DSP is from the "Classic Christmas" 6" x 6" package. You get 48 pieces in this package. I know I will never use them all. These stacks are such a good deal too. It's like getting 12 full sheets of DSP for a very reasonable price. I don't scrapbook so a full 12" x 12" piece is nothing I require. Anyway, I cut my DSP to 2-1/2" x 5-1/4".
I took a 1/4 sheet of Whisper White and I die cut the dotted edge using one of the dies from the "Curvy Dies" set.
When I set my DSP on the 4" x 5-1/4" piece and then set the Whisper White piece on top I saw that some of the white was showing through the dots. So I ended up taking the small 1/2" strip that got cut off to make the piece 5-1/2" long and I just taped it to the side edge. I just used some scotch tape on the back. Once the dotted piece was on top you couldn't tell anything was odd. So after tapping the strip on, I taped the DSP to the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White piece. I made sure the edges were all lined up before pressing it down. Then I added the die cut Whisper White piece. See the red showing through the dots? Looks pretty normal. It's actually at the top part of the card but even knowing that I still can't see where it was taped! Problem solved!
I then taped the piece to the front of the card base.
The words are from the "Celebration Tidings" set and were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink. I die cut them using the die from the "Stitched Rectangles" package. The words were then set in place using Dimensionals.
The tree was die cut from the "Pine Woods" Dies from the "In the Pines" bundle. It was cut from a scrap piece of Shaded Spruce card stock and glued in place using some liquid glue on a piece of waxed paper. I could have used my craft mat but then I'd have to go wash it. SO lazy!!!
Three red sequins were added to the card and the card was done. Isn't it a fun looking card? Very Christmasy, very festive!
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop in and have a look, Wanda
