So onto my card. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock for the focal piece.
I took a sticky note and punched out a 1-1/4" circle for a mask for the moon. I stuck it to the card stock and I sponged on some Balmy Blue ink. I used a makeup brush to do that. I believe Stampin' Up! is coming out with something similar in the spring catalog. I got my set from Amazon and have used it a lot for "sponging". It creates a nice smooth even look with no blops of ink.
After sponging around the moon, I removed the mask and stamped the tree line from the "Snow Front" set using Night of Navy ink.
I also stamped a small tree next to the end of the tree line.
I didn't think it was enough so I took the largest tree in the set and I masked the "hill" area and stamped the tree. Now the tree looks like it's behind the hill. I had cut my mask using a scrap piece of copier paper and a scissors. I took the other side of that mask and covered the tree so I could rub on some Balmy Blue color to give the hill a little more depth.
The words are from the "Snowman Season" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. And that was it. This card was super easy and very quick to make. I think I accomplished my goal of making a calm and serene card.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today and have a look, Wanda
