Forever Fern, Itty Bitty Greetings, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Since my "Forever Fern" stamp set was still sitting on my worktable I thought I'd make another card with it before I move on to something else. I am pretty sure I'll be back with more cards from the "Forever Fern" stamp set. I LOVE playing with that set. You can see the original card here. There was no link so I had to guess at the colors. This is such a fun and easy set to work with.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Purple Posy card stock. And I cut a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I textured it with the "Brick and Mortar" embossing folder.  I taped the textured piece to the Highland Heather piece and then I taped those two to the front of the card base.

I took three different leaves from the "Forever Fern" set and I stamped them using Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape, and Coastal Cabana inks.  I die cut the leaves. I also die cut three gold foil card stock leaves. The die set comes with three of them so you can cut them all at the same time.

I used the "Stitched So Sweetly" die set to cut the Whisper White background piece.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and were stamped using Soft Suede ink on Whisper White card stock.  I die cut them using the smallest rectangle scalloped die in the "Stitched So Sweetly" die set.

I set the large Whisper White stitched die cut piece on top of the card. I did not affix it to it. I am setting it there to see where I am going to place the leaves and how far they can hang over without going off the card. Once they are off the card they won't fit in the envelope. So to assemble them I used glue so I had some time to move them around if needed.  First I place the Costal Cabana one on, then the Gorgeous Grape one and then the Pacific Point one. I added glue only to the bottom parts because I was afraid I would accidently glue the whole thing onto the embossed piece and not be able to remove it.  I put a little glue on the gold pieces and slipped them under the leaves.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the piece, including the leaves and set it in place on top of the textured piece.

The words were set in place using Dimensionals. I did double up on the Dimensional on the right side so it was stacked two high. You need to do this or it would bend down too far.  You could omit the Dimensionals there and leave it hanging over. I opted for it to be more secure so I doubled up on the Dimensional. And that was it.

This was a fun card to make and I do like how it turned out.  One can never have enough birthday cards but this could also be used for a Thinking of You card, Mother's Day, Get Well, Sympathy, Thank you, and Friendship card.  VERY versatile. I love versatile sets. I get more use out of them than ones that target a specific event or holiday.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to pop in today,
Wanda
