Zany Zebras, Children's Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I had bought the "Zany Zebras" set and forgot about it. I thought it was time to play with it. It's always good to have children's birthday cards on hand.  I thought this card looked super easy to do and it is. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock. Before I taped it in place I die cut the scalloped circle from the "Layering Circles" Framelits dies.

I took a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock. I die cut the circle for the zebra from it using the circle die from the "Layering Circle" Framelits dies that was just a little smaller than the Night of Navy Scalloped circle. You will want to die cut this in about the same area that you are going to set it on when they circles are stamped and put together. You need to hide the circle you cut out. If you aren't comfortable with that, then just die cut the image from a separate piece of card stock. I then textured the Whisper White piece using the "Subtles" embossing folder.

I took a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Neutrals 6" x 6" paper stack.  I cut the DSP to 2" x 3-7/8".  I taped it to the bottom of the embossed Whisper White piece.

I had a small scrap piece from trimming my Night of Navy card stock, so I used it as a band across the card where the DSP meets the embossed piece.  That Night of Navy piece measured 3-7/8" x almost 3/8".  The width doesn't matter, as long as there is enough to cover where the two pieces meet. I glued the strip in place. I didn't know if the tape runner was too wide and I didn't want to take any chances. It was the only scrap piece of Night of Navy and I didn't want to cut up a whole sheet just for a tiny strip.

Next I stamped the zebra from the "Zany Zebras" set using black Memento ink. I should have used Night of Navy but my pad was just inked and it was too juicy to make a nice image. Then I taped the zebra to the Night of Navy scalloped circle. I added Dimensionals to the back of the circle and I set in place on top of the card. I made sure I covered the circle area I had die cut.

The words are from the "Zany Zebras" set and were also stamped using black Memento ink. I used the "Classic Labels" punch and they were then set in place using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

This is a very quick and easy card to make. Plus it's adorable!!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by and have a look,                                                        Wanda

Halloween Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternative Card

This is the last Halloween card I will be posting using the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. I may post a Halloween card on Halloween but I am thinking I will be doing something else. But you have been warned!!! LOL I found this card on Pinterest and I had all the stuff to make it look as close to the original card as possible. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Plaid Tidings" 6" x 6" paper stack.

I die cut a 7/8" wide stitched rectangle from the "Rectangle Stitched Framelits" pack.  I cut it in half so it would give the appearance of reaching all the way across the DSP.

I die cut the Whisper White piece from the same "Rectangle Stitched Framelits" pack and the Basic Black piece behind it was also die cut. The Pumpkin Pie layer was cut on my paper cutter and it measures 2-3/8" x 3-3/4".

I cut the scalloped end off one of the party favors from the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit and I taped it to the back edge of the Pumpkin Pie piece.

On a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock I stamped the pumpkin and the hat from the kit. I colored them in using Blends pens.  And then I fussy cut them out.  I traced the bottom of the pumpkin onto the stitched Whisper White piece. I lightly traced it so I could see where I needed to stamp the leaves.

The leaves were stamped using Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry,  and Pumpkin Pie ink. Once the leaves were stamped on, I stamped the words from the kit using black Memento ink.

The pumpkin was taped in place and then the hat was set in place using Dimensionals.

I added soem rhinestones to the hat. Now I don't know why there's a green rhinestone over the "h" in hello. I did carefully and successfully remove it. You really have to keep your eyes on those things!!! LOL

The Basic Black piece was taped to the Pumpkin Pie piece and then that piece was set on top of the card using Dimensionals.  The Whisper White piece was set on top of the Basic Black piece using Dimensionals.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This card is so pretty. I love how the plaid makes the pumpkin colors just pop.

Thank you SO very much for taking the time to stop by today,

Framed for You, Itty Bitty Greetings, Thank You Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I do have one more Halloween card to make but I will wait until tomorrow and then I promise I am done playing with the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I have to say that I had the most fun with that kit, it had lots of pieces to play with and lots of ideas to see.

So onto today's card. The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White and I textured it using the "Subtle" embossing folder. I taped that piece to the card base.

Yesterday I shared with you a Halloween card I made using a template that helps you stamp your images in a nice circle.  Here is a link to the Halloween card I made. There you will find a link on how to make your own template.  My card stock was cut to the size of the square die I used. So if you use a die that is different than 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" your circle will be either larger or smaller. I have plans to make a larger template to accommodate larger images. But for now this one worked. I used the leaves from the "Framed for You" set and I stamped them using Mossy Meadow card stock. The stamp is textured so it doesn't ink solid, which is nice. Had it inked solid I would have inked off once. You don't want those leaves really dark. I stamped those leaves eight times. Stamping and turning the card stock and repeating.

The flowers are from the same set and were stamped using Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze ink. I stamped 5 of each color and then I fussy cut 5 of each color.  Yup, I did fussy cutting.  But it was worth it. I had this idea in my mind and it turned out just how I had imagined it! So the fussy cutting was a must!

I set two flowers in place using glue dots and the last one in each cluster was added using a small Dimensional.  I alternated the colors some. The combo I used worked out well. It's pleasing to the eye and the eye moves around the circle.

I cut a 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Cajun Craze card stock for the layer. Before I taped the Whisper White piece to it, I die cut the tag from the "Ornate Frames" dies.  I cut it diagonally to make sure I didn't get it too close to the edge if it slipped in the Big Shot before I started rolling it in.  There was plenty of room to cut it straight across but I wanted to be extra careful. I don't have the best luck sometimes.  After die cutting, I taped the Whisper White piece to the Cajun Craze piece and then I set it in place on top of the textured piece using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and were stamped on a 3/8" x 1-1/2" piece of Wisper White card stock. I cut several pieces because I didn't think I would be able to stamp it straight.  I caught a break there, I stamped it straight the first time. But had I not cut the other pieces, would I have stamped it straight??? LOL  I taped the words to the die cut tag and I set the tag in place using small Dimensionals.   And the card was done.

Other than the fussy cutting, everything else went really fast.  I would make this card again. If there was something good on tv to watch while I cut tons of flowers!!! LOL

Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit today,

Ghoulish Goodies, Halloween Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternative Card

I wanted to make another Halloween card using the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. I have one more I want to make and then I'm bagging up the rest of the items and calling it a done deal. I made a lot of fun cards from this set. I found this fun card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.  There are no instructions, so I had to wing it. I think I got it close enough!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. And the Pumpkin Pie card stock was cut 3-3/4" x 5".  The card stock layers were taped together and then taped to the card base.

I cut a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" circle and stamped the pumpkin faces from the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit. I stamped them in black Memento ink.  I used a template I had made to set the square in and stamp and move the square so I could complete a whole circle. You can see that template here.  There's links there to find out how to make your own template. I keep my template right in with my Stamparatus. I have to take it out each time I need to use the Staparatus but that's okay, I always know where my template is. I also wrote on it so I know where to place the image.  After stamping the pumpkin face eight times I removed the square from the template and hand stamped the flowers using Crushed Curry ink. I centered the top part of the square piece and lined up the sides so they all looked pretty even.

The words are form the "Ghoulish Goodies" set and were stamped in black Memento ink. Then they were die cut using the 1" x 3" "Rectangle Stitched " Framelits dies. I moved the words to the right so I would have room for the cats legs. This piece was set in place using double sided tape.

The cat is a die cut from the kit and was flipped over and colored black using a Sharpie. The cat was then set in place using glue dots.

The witches hat is from the kit and was set in place with glue dots too.  A flower from the kit was added to the hat and a rhinestone colored black was also added to the center of the flower. And that was it. The card was done.

It's so cute and not scary! I really like those smiles in a circle. That template is fun to use. Oh and if you compare the two cards, the original card had more space between the faces. The template there was obviously larger. I made mine for another card and probably followed someone's instructions. You can make your template to whatever size fits your need.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,

Snowman Season, Treat Box, Stocking Stuffer, Weekend Project

I wasn't searching for a project, but I found this and I thought it looked too darn cute to pass up. You can see the original piece here.  You may want to go there. There's a video on how to make this cute candy box. I have a few tips for you before you begin yours. I am not one who watches a video first and then makes the project. I follow along and pause the video when needed.  When cutting the Designer Series Paper (DSP) she says to cut it at 1-1/8" x 2-1/8".  I did that and it wasn't wide enough. It needs to be cut 1-3/8" x 2-1/8".  And when you are cutting the strip that holds the box shut, cut it 1/8" longer.  Score at 1-1/2" and 2-1/4".  This way the flap lays flatter once the velcro has been added.  My elf one wasn't cut longer so it sticks up higher. The snowflake ones were made longer so they closed better.

These are fun and easy to make.

Here's how you do it. First you are going to make the cover.  Cut it from card sock that measures 3-5/8" x 2-1/4".  Score on the long side at 1-1/2" x 2-1/4". Use a bone folder to get nice crisp folds.

Next you will be cutting the band. It's the same color as the cover. Cut it 3-1/8" x 1".  Score it at 1-1/2"  and 2-1/4". Use your bone folder to make nice crisp folds.

For the box you will need a piece of card stock cut 3-7/8" x 4-5/8". I used Whisper White for the snowflake boxes. It needs to be scored at 5/8" x 1-1/4" on all four sides. Fold in all of the score lines. This will help you see the lines when it comes time to clip them.  You may want to follow the video for it or just look at the photo here. Your piece should look like that when you are done cutting. You will also need to clip the sides to miter them. This makes the folding up of the box a lot easier. You won't get any bunching up.

Once the piece is all cut, you will be ready to fold it together. The original instructions have you put some glue dots on outside of the small tabs. Then affix them to the inside of the piece of the long tab. You will see where it goes once you fold it in.  The instructions tell you to use tape or glue to fold up the box. Then you are told about the glue dots. I used glue and then it dried while I was adding the glue dots.  See, this is where watching it first comes in handy.  But I just added more glue and I was good to go.  I preferred to use glue because I knew it would hold. I have made boxes and toes before and I have found that glue is best because it will hold. Once the box is assembled you can set it aside

Cut a piece of DSP to measure 1-3/8" x 2-1/8"  This is where the instructions on the video are wrong. They are correct in the list of materials but I didn't follow that either. I just played along.  My DSP is from the "Snowflake Splendor" 12" x 12" package. I glued it to the front of the box. I glued it because it is going to be having a piece of velcro attached to it and there's going to be some tugging on it. Glue will hold. You will also need to cut another piece out of card stock to stamp on for the inside cover of the box. I used Whisper White card stock and the words are form the "Snowman Season" set. I used Balmy Blue ink to stamp them. I taped this piece to the inside.

The box was glued to the inside of the cover. Push it back all the way to the spine.

Next I added the strip to the back. I centered it and then used glue to hold it. The velcro was put on. One tip she used was to snip some of the velcro so it wasn't so hard to open. I snipped the stiffer side mostly in the middle.  It did make it less "sticky".  I put one piece of velcro on the inside of the strip and I set the other piece of velcro on that same piece so they were lined up together. Put the Hershey Nuggets for added support.  Now press the velcro shut over the front of the box.

I took the smallest scalloped circle die and cut my circles from Balmy Blue card stock. I glued them in place.

The snowflakes are from the "Christmas Layers" dies. I cut them from Whisper White card stock.  Now it would have been very pretty if I had colored them with Wink of Stella before adding them to the box. they could stand a bit of a sparkle!  I set them in place on top of the circle with a small glue dot. Then I added a pearl to the center.  A sparkling rhinestone would be pretty too. I think I would have liked that better. But it's still pretty.

The box is done and ready to give away to friends, co-workers, teachers, etc. You can pop one in the mail box for your mail carrier or you can add them as stocking stuffers.  These are just too darn cute, aren't they?

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,                                                                          Wanda

Halloween Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

I still have a couple more September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit cards up my sleeve. I have found SO many fun and easy cards to make. I was thrilled at how many there were out there, mostly because I had no need for party favors. This was a super fun set to play with. I did receive my October 2020 Paper Pumpkin but I have not opened it up. I did open the box and look, but I didn't open the sealed supplies.  I will work on that sometime next week. I have a feeling it won't have as many pieces and I will be done with it quicker. But in the meantime I'm going to make a couple more Halloween cards before Halloween. It's sneaking up on me!

I found this card on Pinterest but I can't for the life of me find the link. If you know the original designer of this card, please let me know so I can give them credit and a link.

I pretty much copied it exactly the way the original card was done, except for the bow. Their bow was a double bow with single threads hanging.  I don't know how that was achieved.  I will have to look into that.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock.  On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Crumb Cake card stock.

I took a piece of the party favor from the kit and cut it 1/2" wide x 4-3/4" long a I snipped the ends. This piece was then taped in place.

I took the last of my double pumpkins and one of the smaller ones and I taped the smaller one to the back left edge of the double pumpkins. Then I added Dimensionals on the pieces, making sure I stuck one where the two pieces met in the back. I set the pumpkins in place on top of the strip.

Then I added a little tape to the black curly piece and slipped in under the pumpkins, and the same with the Mossy Meadow leaf.

The words are from the kit and I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I tied the white Baker's Twine bow and set it in place with a curled up piece of glue dot. Then I realized that wasn't going to stay so I used a dot of liquid glue.

The gems were from a Paper Pumpkin kit a while back. I colored them with the dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pen and stuck them on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I like how simple it looks yet it has an elegant touch!

Thank you ever SO much for taking the time to have a look today,

Life is Beautiful, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I made a card on Monday. You can see that card here.  I used the Baby Wipes technique. That's where you add ink drops to a baby wipe and use it as a stamp pad. After I made my card on Monday I thought I'd make a few tree cards and use the ink on the baby wipe a bit more. It would have been such a waste to only use it for one card.

Had I not done the card on Monday, I might not have made this card.  And I did make 6 of these cards. I wanted to feel like I got the most use out of those dots of ink.

I took a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock and I stamped the tree from the "Life is Beautiful" stamp set using Early Espresso ink.

I took the leaves from the same set and inked them up on the baby wipe that I had added the drops of ink to. I had used Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Garden Green and Rich Razzleberry inks. I taped the image over the same spot on the baby wipe to ink it up. If you move the stamp around you can pick up other colors and as they blend together you can end up with muddy looking leaves. You can stamp in different areas of the baby wipe on the next inking.  I just added that because I didn't want you to think you needed to ink up the image in the same spot all the time.  Just for that inking and then move it to another spot for the next one and so on.  Like I said, I made 6 cards but I could have made more, there was plenty of ink on the baby wipe.  Oh and I only added 5 drops from each color. 5 drops in different spots on the baby wipe. I hope I explained that clearly.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set. It's kind of my go to birthday words. I like the fonts and the size is perfect. I stamped them using Rich Razzleberry ink. I did have to heat set it, it just doesn't seem to dry enough to work with right away. I die cut the words using the second largest Stitched oval dies and I die cut a Cajun Craze scalloped oval using the oval dies. I taped the two together and I set them in place on front of the card using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

This is a very quick and simple card to make. I LOVE the colors of the leaves.  They certainly do have a fall look to them.  And where I live, the trees are bare.  There are no more leaves in our yard. Our maple dropped it's leaves a couple of weeks ago.  But the three did give our rooms a nice bright orange glow during the day.  So any colorful leaves from now on will be on paper!

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,

Winter Woods, Itty Bitty Christmas, Christmas Card, Watercolor Block Background Technique

Watercolor paper and I are not good friends. I never seem to have much luck with it. Especially if I have to wet the whole piece. I can never get it to just lay flat. I suppose I could iron it but I don't. I found the card here and thought I'd give it a try.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Balm Blue card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of watercolor paper and I misted it. Then I took my 2-1/2" square stamping block and inked it up with Balmy Blue ink. I stamped off because it was just a bit too dark. Then I misted the block and pressed it on the watercolor paper. It blead a bit at the top and I used a wet paint brush to rub out the color. A little bit of it stained but it doesn't show much. I was okay with the way it looked after I tried to fix it.

I stamped the tree from the "Winter Woods" set using Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White card stock. I had set it up in my Stamparatus. I didn't like how light the green looked so I used Pretty Peacock ink and stamped over the tree. It was darker but not like on the original card. But I just let it be how it wanted to be! I fussy cut the tree out and taped it to the watercolor paper.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set using black Memento ink.

I taped the watercolor paper to the card base and added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

It is okay but I don't think I would make anymore.  Even though it was quick and easy to do.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to pop in today,

Peaceful Moments, Fall Birthday Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

I found this fun card on the internet and I forgot to grab the link before I closed out the image. Several hours and tons of new searches later it dawned on me I forgot the link.  I tried to look for it but had no luck. So if you know who the original designer of this card is or if you have a link to the original card, please let me know so I can link it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is the party favor box from the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I taped the backside so the die cut pieces wouldn't fall out. I had used Scotch tape to do that. Then I cut the piece to 4" x 5-1/4".

The Whisper White piece on the top was cut 2-3/8" x 4".  Then I die cut the Pumpkin Pie card stock square using the "Stitched Shapes Framelits" dues. I had used the 2nd largest one.

I stamped the pumpkin image from the Paper Pumpkin kit using Crumb Cake ink that was stamped off once.  It gave the background a nice look, soft and subtle.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set. Crumb Cake ink was used to stamp them.

After stamping on the Whisper White card stock I taped the Pumpkin Pie square on top. I lined up the sides and top to try to get them as equal as possible.

The pumpkins are from the kit and were set in place using Dimensionals.

I took some black Baker's Twine and wound it around the Whisper White piece a couple of times and tied a bow.

The panel was set in place using Dimensionals.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I really like this layout. I'm going to have to try it with different stamps and different backgrounds.

Thank you SO very much for stopping by today,

Forever Fern, Itty Bitty Greetings, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Since my "Forever Fern" stamp set was still sitting on my worktable I thought I'd make another card with it before I move on to something else. I am pretty sure I'll be back with more cards from the "Forever Fern" stamp set. I LOVE playing with that set. You can see the original card here. There was no link so I had to guess at the colors. This is such a fun and easy set to work with.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Purple Posy card stock. And I cut a 4-7/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I textured it with the "Brick and Mortar" embossing folder.  I taped the textured piece to the Highland Heather piece and then I taped those two to the front of the card base.

I took three different leaves from the "Forever Fern" set and I stamped them using Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape, and Coastal Cabana inks.  I die cut the leaves. I also die cut three gold foil card stock leaves. The die set comes with three of them so you can cut them all at the same time.

I used the "Stitched So Sweetly" die set to cut the Whisper White background piece.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and were stamped using Soft Suede ink on Whisper White card stock.  I die cut them using the smallest rectangle scalloped die in the "Stitched So Sweetly" die set.

I set the large Whisper White stitched die cut piece on top of the card. I did not affix it to it. I am setting it there to see where I am going to place the leaves and how far they can hang over without going off the card. Once they are off the card they won't fit in the envelope. So to assemble them I used glue so I had some time to move them around if needed.  First I place the Costal Cabana one on, then the Gorgeous Grape one and then the Pacific Point one. I added glue only to the bottom parts because I was afraid I would accidently glue the whole thing onto the embossed piece and not be able to remove it.  I put a little glue on the gold pieces and slipped them under the leaves.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the piece, including the leaves and set it in place on top of the textured piece.

The words were set in place using Dimensionals. I did double up on the Dimensional on the right side so it was stacked two high. You need to do this or it would bend down too far.  You could omit the Dimensionals there and leave it hanging over. I opted for it to be more secure so I doubled up on the Dimensional. And that was it.

This was a fun card to make and I do like how it turned out.  One can never have enough birthday cards but this could also be used for a Thinking of You card, Mother's Day, Get Well, Sympathy, Thank you, and Friendship card.  VERY versatile. I love versatile sets. I get more use out of them than ones that target a specific event or holiday.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to pop in today,

Forever Fern, Itty Bitty Greetings, Friendship, Thinking of You Card

I am SO loving this "Forever Fern" set. I found this card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. I tried to find how it was made but there was no direct link. I went to their web site but after about 10 pages I gave up. I didn't have a lot of time to be looking.  Links really help.  Click here for link to the one I found on Pinterest. I made a few minor changes, mostly because of supplies that I didn't have.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White and I textured about 2-1/8" of the bottom with the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. This is my focal piece.

Then I stamped the leaves stamp from the "Forever Fern" set using Versa Mark. I heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  And then I sponged Soft Sea Foam in over it to make the white pop.  I also stamped a different leave image on the left using Soft Sea Foam ink.

An Old Olive leaf (branch) was die cut and taped in place on top of the Whisper White focal piece.

I took another piece of Whisper White and I stamped the three leaf sets on it. For the center one I inked up the image with Crushed Curry and then sponged some Old Olive in the center.  For the other two I sponged on some Cajun Craze up the center and then sponged on some Old Olive ink.  I die cut them using the matching dies.

The center leaves were stamped using Real Red ink and were colored in using my Wink of Stella pen after they were die cut.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and were stamped using Real Red ink. They were die cut using the stitched scalloped rectangle die from the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies.

I tapped the sponged leaves in place and then the Real Red ones on top.

The words were set in place using Dimensionals.

The edge of the focal piece was sponged using Soft Sea Foam ink and it was taped to the card base.  And the card was done.

This was such a fun and easy card to make. I LOVE the colors of the sponged leaves. It's not exactly like the original but I like it just as much.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to look today,
Wanda

Harvest Hellos, Itty Bitty Greetings, Halloween Card

While looking for just one more card to make using my September Paper Pumpkin kit, I ran across this card. I just love how the pumpkin just jumps off the plain white background. SO, I got out my stuff and got to work.

There was no link to the original card so I had to wing it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a 1" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Regals 6" x 6" paper stack. The DSP in the original card is from the retired Regals 6" x 6" stack. I might have had some left but I was trying to use current items. So I thought the woodgrain DSP would work just fine.  And it did. I taped the strip to the right side of the card.

The pumpkin is from the "Harvest Hellos" set and was stamped using Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White card stock. I colored the pumpkin using both light and dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pens. The face on the pumpkin is from the same set and was stamped using black Memento ink. The ink kind of hit and missed so I colored in the missed parts using the Basic Black marker.

The stem was stamped using Soft Suede ink and was colored in using the light Soft Suede Blends pen. Then I fussy cut it.

The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink and were colored in using the light Granny Apple Green Blends Pen.  If you don't have Blends pens you can use ink pads and a Blender pen or markers (colored on one of you clear stamping blocks or a piece of plastic) and your Blender pen. I like the Blends pens because they don't wear the card stock if you color too much in one area. They end up bleeding a little and smelling like rubbing alcohol. But they don't make the paper pill. I stamped three leaves and fussy cut them.

I glued the stem in place on the pumpkin. and then the leaf.

I set the pumpkin on the front of the card where I thought it would look best. I needed to see where I was going to stamp the curly image. I ended up covering up most of it. I should have moved my pumpkin over a little or better yet, I should have stamped the curls to the left a bit more.  Stamp one of them first, set the pumpkin back on to see where the second one should go. I was going to move my pumpkin just a little more to the right but then it would be too close to the DSP, so I just left it as it was. I set the pumpkin in place using Dimenisonals.

The other two leaves were set in place.

Then the words were added. They are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and were stamped using Soft Suede ink. And the card was done.

Isn't it just bright and cheery?  It's got such a positive look to it.

Life is Beautiful, Thank You Card, Eclipse Technique, Baby Wipes Technique

When I saw this card on Pinterest, thought it was SO pretty so I thought I would give it a try. You can see the original card here.  There is a video on how to make the card. It was easy enough to follow but lots of dead air time.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Bumblebee card stock. If you don't have that color you can use Crushed Curry. I was going to use that color but I remembered that I had bought a variety pack of the in colors.

You will need a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Early Espresso card stock. Tape that to the front of the card.

Then you will need a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Plaid Tidings" 6" x 6" paper stack.  I didn't have the same design that was used on the original card. Apparently I have used up all of mine! So I found another design that was close. Tape the DSP on top of the Early Espresso and set this aside.

Cur a piece of Whisper White card stock to 4-7/8" x 3-5/8".  Using Early Espresso ink and the tree from the "Life is Beautiful" set, stamp the tree on the Whisper White piece.

Next you will need to use the largest long stitched rectangle die. The set is kind of divided into 3 sections. One has a bunch of dies, one has 4 and there is a single one. You want the largest die from the set of 4.  Line it up over the tree. You will want to have a little bit of the branches showing on the left and on the top.  I taped the die in place and then ran it though my Big Shot.

Grab a baby wipe and add the following inks to it. I used Crushed Curry (I didn't have Bumblebee), Garden Green, Rich Razzleberry and Cajun Craze.  I added about 5 drops of each in different areas on the baby wipe. I added the Crushed Curry last and sort of filled in the open areas with it. You will need the leaves stamp from the "Life is Beautiful" set. Ink it up with the ink on the baby wipe. The video showed you moving the stamp around the ink pad to pick up different colors.  Don't do that, it will look muddy. Ink it and move it just a little bit and tape the ink pad again. This will pick up just enough color without it looking brown. Stamp on a scrap piece if you want to see what it will look like.  I stamped the leaves 3 separate times, inking the stamp up each time. I like the colors in the tree.  I saved the baby wipe so I can stamp a few more trees without using this technique.

Next you will tape a 3-7/8" x 1-7/8" piece of Early Espresso card stock. I didn't have the foil paper that was used in the video, so I used what I had and it worked just fine.

I also didn't have the suede ribbon so I took some ribbon that I had on hand and taped the edges on the backside of the Whisper White piece.  Then that piece was taped on top of the DSP.

The tree rectangle layers were set in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Banner Year" set using Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White card stock. I heat set the ink because I have had problems with the ink not drying fast enough for me. Then I fussy cut around the words. The words were set in place using Dimensionals.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White piece was taped to the inside and the card was done.

Isn't it pretty?  I just love the look of the leaves. This was a very fun technique too.

Halloween Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

I wanted to find a Halloween card that used the cat from the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I don't know if I had made one with a cat or not but I know I have a lot of cats left in my kit. I don't recall seeing a cat card when I scrolled back through my posts. Anyway, I found one I thought was cute so I went with it. You can see the original card here.  I made a few minor changes

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock. I stamped the pumpkin from the kit using Balmy Blue ink. I only stamped around the edges. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside.

I cut a piece of Balmy Blue card stock 4-5/8" x 3-1/4" and I cut a piece of Basic Black card stock to measure 4-3/4" x 3-3/8" for the layer.

I took the Balmy Blue piece and my sponge brayer and sponged on some Balmy Blue ink, then Pacific Point in, and then I added some Night of Navy ink. I kept the left center light and I made the right side darker. When I was done sponging on the color, I spritzed the piece with some Wink of Stella in a spray bottle with a little bit of rubbing alcohol. I heat set it so it the card stock wouldn't warp, plus I wanted it to dry faster.  The card stock ended up a bit textured from the wetness of the alcohol, but that was okay, I used it to my advantage. I took my Wink of Stella pen and held it by the very end and moved it back and forth over the card stock. The raised parts took on the sparkle from the pen.  I set it aside to dry while I got out the die cut parts I needed from the kit.

I also stamped the words from the kit using black Memento ink on Balmy Blue card stock. I die cut them using the second smallest stitched circle die.

I taped the sponged Balmy Blue piece to the Basic Black layer. Then I taped those two to the front of the card.

The cat was taped in place first, then the rusty colored flower was added on the bottom over the cat's paw. Then the single pumpkin and then the brown leaf. The yellow leave was added on top of the brown leaf and then the single pumpkin.

The face was stamped on the double pumpkin using the stamp from the kit.  Black Memento ink was used here.

I slipped the long green leaf under the brown leaf. Then I moved over to the left and added the green leaf and the double pumpkin. I added the orange flower on the left and the yellow leaf on the right side of the little pumpkin attached to the large one. I had added that green leaf in the middle because I didn't get all the way across the bottom without an opened area.  It may have worked if I would have cut the Balmy Blue piece 1/4" smaller.  There were no measurements or instructions to work with so I had to guess.

Tape was added to the round word piece and slipped under the upper part of the double pumpkins.

I had added some rhinestones to the card. Two black for the flower centers that I colored with a black Sharpie.  And one green that I colored with my Old Olive Blends pen.

I thought this was such a cute card and I love the reference to the blue moon.  There is a blue moon this Halloween. The next time there will be a full moon on Halloween is in 2039.  A long time away!!! If your skies are clear on Halloween, be sure to step outside and take a look.  It's not going to look blue. Look up what the blue moon means.  Fun to learn!!

Ghoulish Goodies, Celebration Tidings, Life is Beautiful, Halloween Card

I found this fun and easy card on Pinterest.  I was looking though my stamp sets and realized I had the "Ghoulish Goodies" set and have hardly used it.  So when I saw this card I figured I could work it in. I did in a very tiny way! You can see the original card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.

The tree from the "Life is Beautiful" set was stamped first using black Memento ink.

Then the words from the Celebration Tidings was added using black Memento ink.

And from the "Ghoulish Goodies, the tiny little spider was used. It was also stamped using black Memento ink.  I was hoping to use a bit more from that set but the spider worked well with this card. I did have the spider that was used in the original card but I thought it just looked too big for the tree.

Then the sky area was sponged in using black Memento ink. After sponging the piece was taped in place on top of the Basic Black piece.

I tied a bow from some Basic Black retired ribbon and I set it in place using some small glue dots. And the card was done.

It was quick and easy but not as fun as I thought it would be. There's only 14 more days till Halloween so I do have some days ahead to play with the "Ghoulish Goodies" set before the end of the month.  This Halloween was supposed to be SO fun and special. It is on a Saturday, which is the best day for it to fall on. And there's supposed to be a full moon. It's a full "Blue Hunter's Moon".  And the next full moon on Halloween won't be until 2039.  My grandkids will be to old to trick or treat by then. And I'll be too old to go with them. I'll probably still be making cards then though!!! LOL

Thank you ever SO much for taking the time to stop by today,

Forever Fern, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found a card on the internet for my inspiration to make this card. I can't find the link to it, sorry. It's a lot different than mine. I copied the leaves and ran off from there.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. I stamped three of the leaves from the "Forever Fern" stamp set. I used Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry.  After stamping the leaves, I cut a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock for the layer.

Before taping the layer to the stamped piece, I die cut the oval scallop from the center of it.  Or you can use a piece of scrap Razzleberry for it. I was making several cards and it was easier for me to use the cut piece than to take a larger piece of card stock. I would have had to have used a half-sheet to make the ovals I would need.

I took a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock and stamped the words from the "Here's a Card" set using Rich Razzleberry ink. I had to stamp a few extra because this ink doesn't seem to dry as quickly and as thoroughly as I thought it did. I ended up heat setting the ink so if I touched it, it wouldn't smear.  I taped the ovals together.

The stamped leaves layers were taped to the bottom left of the card and the words were set in place using Dimensionals. I die cut the Mossy Meadow leaves and cut that piece in half. It's kind of a half circle shape. I taped the ends of the leaves under the oval. And the card was done.

This was a quick and easy card to make. Not one of my favorites using this set though. I have found lots of fun cards using this set.  I will be making some from time to time. I need to make one or two more Paper Pumpkin cards from the September kit before I pack it away. The next one will be here in a few days.  And I want to play with the Halloween and fall sets that I bought. Oh and the Christmas ones too. This month is flying by.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,                                                                            Wanda

Forever Fern, Here's a Card, Sympathy Card, 2020 - 2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

The "Forever Fern" set is one I do not regretting buying. It's extremely versatile. You can make wedding or anniversary cards. You can make birthday, thinking of you, thank you and get well cards with it. You can use it for Mother's day and even Christmas cards if you use the holiday colors.  I plan on wearing this set out!!  It helps to buy the dies that go with it too. Save 10% when you buy them both together (the bundle).  Today's card was found here. It is sweet and simple.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. And the Whisper White piece that is on top of that piece measures 3" x 4".

The leaves from the "Forever Fern" set were stamped on Whisper White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. Then they were die cut using the matching dies.  I made two of them.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink.

The layers were all taped together and then the leaves were added. First I set them where I thought they looked the best and I held them together with one hand while I ran a little bit of tape on one of the leaves to hold it in place. Then I was able to turn it over without it shifting and I added a little more tape to hold the two pieces together.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on top of the card.

Don't forget to add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card is done.

It's SO sweet and elegant looking. I can be used for a male or female. Another versality point.

Halloween Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

I have not made a card using my September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit in a couple of days. The October kit is on it's way and should be here next week. I found two more cards I'd like to make before I bag up the leftovers and call it a done deal.  I tried to use up the pieces but there's just too many. And I have yet to use the cat piece.  Maybe I'll find a cute card using it.  Anyway, I found my card on a fun place, it's a FaceBook group "Paper Pumpkin Fan Club". I believe you have to be a member of it. It's free to join. I don't go on it very often. I am going to provide the link but if you can't see it, it means you need to be a member. The only thing I changed was the center of the flowers. The rest is the same as the original card

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock was cut. I also die cut the oval die from the center of the piece before I taped it to the top of the Whisper White card base. I used the largest Stitched oval die.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock and taped it on top of the Basic Black piece.

Then I die cut a Whisper White oval one size smaller than Basic Black piece. I taped the ovals together and set them aside.

The pumpkin is from the kit and I stamped the face on it using black Memento ink. I fussy cut around the pumpkin and the leaf was cut off. I also took my Cajun Craze marker and colored the edge of the pumpkin. I just ran the edge of the pumpkin along the side of the brush end of the marker. I didn't want to fussy cut the pumpkin too close to the edge but I didn't want a lot of white showing either. So in coloring the edge with the marker, it hid all the white. Now it looks like it was cut perfectly. I have shared this tip before. I am not the most perfect fussy cutter and coloring the edges makes it look a whole lot better.

When I was done coloring the edges I taped the bottom part of the hat to the top part of the pumpkin. I added Dimensionals to the back and set the two in place on the oval piece. I did set the pumpkin on the oval before I set the hat on to make sure the hat was within the oval enough.

Flowers from the kit were added to the hat. I colored some rhinestone sequins black and set them in place in the center of the flowers. The center flower has a tiny pom pom that was left over from some retired embellishments. The ovals piece was taped to the front of the card. You can wait to tape until you see where your strip and word piece is going to go.

The strip is what was left over after cutting my Basic Black piece. The strip on the original card is larger but I didn't want to cut a strip just for this so I used the scrap that came off the end.  I glued it in place. It was too tiny to tape. But tiny glue dots will work there if you have them. Glue was easier for me and quicker.

The words are from the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit and were stamped on a scalloped label piece from the kit and black Memento ink was used. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on top of the label.

Leaves and flowers were added to each side. The top flowers were set in place with a Dimensional. And the flower centers have colored rhinestones. The leaves are from the kit and they were added using snail tape. With all the pieces taped in place the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I think it's pretty darn cute!

Itty Bitty Christmas, Feels Like Frost, Christmas Card, Letterbox Technique

A while back I saw a card on Pinterst that used the "Letterbox" technique. I thought it looked like fun so today I was able to find some time to play with it and see how hard it would be.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and textured it using the "Subtle" embossing folder. I had a retired corner rounder and I rounded the four corners.

Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Feels Like Frost" 6" x 6" stack. I cut it to measure 1-5/8" x 4".  Mine was a scrap piece and I just had to trim it a little.

I took out my scoring board and I set the DSP on the backside of the textured card stock. I set the piece on the opposite side that I want it on the front. I held it in place with my hand, though you can use some removable tape or a post it note. I didn't find it necessary.  I scored along one of the longer edges. Then I scored across the top and bottom and then the final side. Make sure you score hard enough for it to show through nicely on the front of the piece.

Once the scoring was done I set my DSP inside the score lines to see if it was even on all sides and if I needed to do any additional trimming.  I had to trim the side just a hair.  Then I taped the DSP inside the scored area.  I taped the piece to the card base.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set and were stamped on Whisper White card stock using Smoky Slate ink. I die cut them with the second smallest Stitched Circle die. I had die cut a scalloped circle for the layer. I first used Smoky Slate but it looked too blah and then I tried the Misty Moonlight card stock and it took your eye away from the picture.  SO I thought I would see what a Whisper White scalloped circle would look like and it was perfect. It didn't stop your eye from moving around the card.  When I die cut the circle, I made sure the words were closer to the top. Only because they were too small for the circle and no other circle would work. In moving them up I was able to fill that space with some rhinestones I colored with my dark Balmy Blue Blends Pen.  You can add a single rhinestone or a snowflake here.  Anything would be pretty.

I taped the circles together and I set them in place using Dimensionals. And the card was done. Quick, easy and elegant!  What more could you ask for?  This is a fun technique and it adds a lot to a card.

Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Congratulations, Wedding, Anniversary Card

In trying to stick with my budget I did not order the "Forever Ferns" bundle. But I kept seeing cards made using it and the more I saw the more I regretted not getting it. So I gave in and ordered it and I'm not looking back. I love all the elements of this set plus the dies that go with it. I found this card on Pinterest, you can see it here. I made a couple of small changes but it's pretty much the same card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of it is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. There's also a couple of other folders I'd like to get but they will have to wait. I'll just improvise until then.

I die cut the second largest Stitched Circle using Whisper White card stock.

The leave/branches were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink that was stamped off once. I stamped and die cut two of them. I used the same image and stamped it using Cajun Craze ink and I stamped off once. And I die cut that one too. Then I stamped the rounded leaves using Cajun Craze ink and I stamped off once. I thought it was too light so I took my Wink of Stella brush and colored in each leaf. The Wink of Stella picked up a little ink and smeared it around each leaf and gave it a darker look. I liked it SO much better.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.  I think it pops too much and Mossy Meadow ink might have been a better choice.  I die cut the words with the die from the "Ornate Frames" dies.

I taped the circle onto the embossed piece. Then I taped one of the Mossy Meadow pieces, centering it as much as I could and then I taped another one to the right.  Next I added the light Cajun Craze leaves. I added them with Dimensionals. The image that was colored with Wink of Stella was added using Dimensionals.

I set the word piece in place using snail tape at the top and double Dimensionals at the sides. A single Dimensional wouldn't reach without bending the label. So you need to stack two together and then set the piece in place.  And that was it. I was surprised at how quick this card was to make.

It's SO pretty. I am really glad I got this set. I love all the images in it and look forward to playing with it more.

Thanksgiving Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

I'm still trying to find cards to use up, or should I say "use more" of the pieces in the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit.  There's SO many fun pieces in there.  And I'm sure when I'm done making the cards I want to make there will still be lots of pieces left. I found today's card online. You can see it here and there is also a step by step video too, you can see that here.  This is an easy card to make and here's how I made mine.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock.

The smaller Whisper White focal piece was cut 2-3/4" x 4-1/4".  You will need to take one of the party favors and cut the scalloped side off. I cut mine at their score line. It doesn't matter where you cut it, most of it will be hidden behind the card stock. Add some tape or glue to the back of the card stock and affix the scalloped piece.  Trim the end that is overlapping. I just used my scissors for that.

The yellow lacy piece from the kit was taped in place. The tape was added from the middle area of the lace to it's end. The tape will show through but it doesn't matter because it's going to be covered.

Then the double pumpkins were taped in place.

The words were stamped on one of the label pieces that came with the kit. Black Memento was used on the words. Another scalloped piece was set in place on the bottom of the words. It's five scallops long. Then the word piece was set in place using Dimensionals.

One of the brownish flowers were set in place using some tape. I added a small pearl embellishment to the center of the flower. It looked like it needed something.

There is a cute flower stamp in the set and I stamped it on the card front three times using Mango Melody ink. I didn't have the Bumblebee ink that matched the lacy piece but the Mango Melody is very close.

A bow using Whisper White Baker's twine was made and added to the large pumpkin using a glue dot. You need to make sure you roll the glue dot a little so it doesn't hang over the twine.

Then the whole panel was set in place on top of the Pumpkin Pie piece with Dimensionals. And the card was done.

Another quick and easy card using pieces from the Paper Pumpkin kit.  It's sweet and simple looking.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,

Life is Beautiful, Friendship Card, Shaker Card, Stampin' Up! 2020 Holiday Catalog

When I ran across this card on Pinterest I knew I had to make it.  I didn't realize how much work it really was until I got into it. You can see the original card here. It's a bit different because I didn't know what I was doing.  There's no instructions there to tell how it was made. So here's how I made it.

The base of the card is a fold half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

The first thing I did was cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock and die cut the rectangles. I used the 2-1/2" long rectangle die. That measurement is the measurement of the die, not what it has cut out. To try to make this simpler for me I cut a piece of copier paper and I traced the die on it four times and fussy cut it out. Now a smarter person would have measured the outside of the die and cut four of them on the paper cutter!!!  I set the pieces on top of the Whisper White piece and lined them up. I held them in place with a post it note while I lightly traced around each one. Then I set the die cut over the traced area and taped it down with the post it note and die cut it. I repeated it for the other rectangles.

Then I stamped the trees from the "Life is Beautiful" set using Soft Suede ink.  I set the tree and card stock up in my Stamparatus so I could get everything right. I didn't realize that the tree was longer than my card stock. The original card got the trunk in the image. Not sure how that was done unless it was added after with masking or if the card is longer than a normal card. It bothered me enough to count the stitch marks on the rectangle and it was something like 32. Mine is not as long. So, that card is longer than a regular card. Mine is a regular size card. It's okay the way mine looks. The bottoms of the trees would have looked nicer on it but it's still nice the way it is. I set the tree and the card stock on my Stamparatus and I stamped them on card base. I also traced around the card so I knew where to set the die cut piece.  I then stamped on the die cut piece too.

To stamp the seasons, I used Flirty Flamingo ink and the round dotted image. The Flirty Flamingo was stamped off once. I only stamped it once on the tree. I did have to mask off the right side of the tree so the Flirty Flamingo wouldn't go onto the next tree. Then I masked the fall tree area and the spring tree area do I could stamp the leaves for the summer tree area using Garden Green ink that was stamped off once. Then the green leaves were masked off so I could stamp the fall leaves. I also masked off the winter part too. I stamped the leaves using Cajun Craze ink and the leaves stamp that was inked off once. These leaves were stamped a little lower to give the appearance of falling off the tree. For the winter area I masked off the fall area. I stamped the snowflakes using Balmy Blue ink stamped once with full ink and then stamped again with stamped off ink. I then inked up the snowflake image again, stamped off once and then stamped on the tree again.

I set up the die cut piece in the Stamparatus and stamped the words from the "Life is Beautiful" set using Soft Suede ink. I had set it up in my Stamparatus because my ink pad is the old cloth one and it needs to be replaced, it's not stamping evenly anymore. And that was it for the stamping, unless you want to stamp something on the inside. I left the inside of mine blank.

I turned the die cut piece over and added a 3" x 5-3/8" piece of Window sheet.  I used the Tombow Multi mono liquid glue. I don't like using that glue because I always get it on my fingers and it's hard to get it off. I like the glue because it sticks SO well and doesn't make your paper warp. I put the glue all around the edges and in between each panel. Then I set the window sheet in place. I wasn't careful and I got some glue on the window sheet. I was awful trying to get it off. There's still some on it that I just couldn't get off. After 15 minutes I had given up.  It just had to be left on there and in hopes that people will see the card and not the glue! You have to really look for it to see it.

Next I got out my foam strips and taped all around the outside of the area and then in between each panel. I didn't have all the sequins that were used in the original card so I just used what I had. I used some "Iridescent Sequins" that were retired for my spring card. I had some green ones for the summer panel and I mixed some copper/orange and brown ones for the fall panel. I did have the "Snowflake Sequins" from the Holiday Catalog for the winter panel. I carefully removed the backing from the foam strips.  But I wasn't careful enough and the piece shook a bit and some winter fell into fall so I had some picking to do. Plus some stuck to the sticky part of the strips.  UGH!!! Just reminding me of why I don't do shaker cards very often. Once I got it done I carefully set the piece in my Stamparatus.  Then I took the card base and set it on top of the die cut piece.  I used my Stamparatus to do this to make it easier to put the pieces together. The die cut piece was put in the corner of the Stamparatus so two sides were pushed against the two walls.  Then the card base was also set against the two walls and lowered in place. It was the easiest assembly of a shaker card I'd ever done. Why didn't I think of doing that sooner? That is the real reason I didn't do shaker cards much, I had trouble lining it up. But now that part is easier. And if I can be more careful about bumping it once the sequins are placed in it, it should go better next time. Next time!!! LOL

Once the bottom was affixed to the top I checked to make sure it was on straight. There was one little part that was showing from the card base so I took it to my paper trimmer and I cut it off. It looks great. I gave the card a shake and it all worked!  Mission accomplished.

It doesn't look exactly like the original card, but close enough. I like how it tuned out.

Halloween Card, September 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit

I'm still finding some fun cards to make with the September 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I have made quite a few cards and still have lots of pieces left in the kit. You can see the original card here. There's several cards in that link but you will spot the one that caught my eye!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Suede card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock was added to the inside.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mango Melody for the front of the card. I stamped the witch hat all over the piece using Cajun Craze ink. It made a nice background, plus it ties the die cut hat in with the design.

The words are from the kit and I used Cajun Craze ink on Whisper White card stock. I used the second largest "Stitched" oval die to cut the words out. I moved the die over so there was white open space on the left for the hat.

An Old Olive scalloped oval was cut for the layer. I usually cut one that is just a hair larger than the oval but this one was one more size up. You can see the color more doing that. Plus I think smaller would make the oval look lost in the middle of the card.

I took a yellow and orange flower from the kit and glued them to the hat from the kit. Then the hat was taped in place on the oval.  The oval was set in place on the scalloped oval using Dimensionals and then that piece was taped in place on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. And it's such a cute Halloween card.

Forever Fern, Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I saw this card while surfing the net and thought I would give it a try. Mine turned out a little different. There were no instructions on how to make it so here's how I did it. You can see the original card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I die cut the second largest circle in the "Layering Circles" dies using Whisper White card stock. This circle measures 2-5/8".  Then I die cut the scalloped circle using Seaside Spray card stock. I taped the two pieces together and I set them aside.

The words are from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I used Night of Navy ink on Whisper White card stock. They were die cut using the "Layering Oval" dies.  I also die cut a scalloped oval using Seaside Spray card stock. I taped the two pieces together and set them aside.

I used the "Forever Fern set to stamp the various leaves. I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the taller leaves in the back using Seaside Spray ink. Then I stamped the smaller leafs using Smoky Slate ink. I stamped two of these. And I stamped the smallest leaves using Night of Navy. My Night of Navy ink didn't stamp as dark as the original card and my Seaside Spray ink pad was way too wet.  It came that way. I think it may have gotten a double dose before shipping!  I am going to take a plastic spoon and move the ink to one side so I it won't stamp as wet.

All the stamped pieces were die cut and I also die cut the larger leaf set using vellum and there's a leaf set that was die cut using some copper foil card stock and I cut that piece in half after cutting.

To assemble the pieces I added some tape to the middle of the circle about 1" x 1".  I taped the taller Seaside Spray piece first and then I tucked one of the copper pieces in behind it. Next was the vellum piece. Then the two Smoky Slate pieces and the last copper piece on top. I added Dimensionals to the back of the Night of Navy piece and set it in place, centering it.

A Whisper White Baker's Twine bow was tied and set in place on the stem of the Night of Navy piece using a small glue dot.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and the circle was set in place on the left side of the card.  Tape was added to the left side of the oval and a couple of Dimensionals were added to the right side and the oval was set in place.

I added a few Champaign rhinestones (I believe these are retired). And the card was done.

It's not exactly like the original but it's still pretty. I may add some Wink of Stella to the Night of Navy leaves and see if it will pull up some of the color and darken the leaves.

This was a fun card to make and easy to assemble, even if I had to guess where things went!

Itty Bitty Greetings, Thank You Card, Thanksgiving Card, 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

I'm still finding cards on Pinterest  using the September 2002 Paper Pumpkin kit. Not being fond of the party favors (only because I have no need for them) I have been thrilled with all the fun ideas out there using the TONS of pieces in this kit. You can see the original card here. I changed it just a little bit only because of not having the same dies.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. Inside is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White. I added it right away so when I was done with the front I'd be all done with the card. And sometimes I forget to add the inside piece!!!

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mango Melody card stock and taped it to the front of the card.

A 3-3/4" x 5-1/4" piece of "Plaid Tidings" Designer Series Paper was cut and taped to the top of the Mango Melody piece.

I took two of the lacy pieces from the kit and put some glue on my craft mat and took a scrap piece of card stock to thin it. I set the lacy piece on top of the thin layer of glue and pressed it down so it covered most of the back of the lacy piece. I didn't need it to cover the whole thing, just mostly the ends. I set the ends in place, centering them on the DSP. I set on on each end. The center is open but it won't show.

An oval was die cut using Whisper White card stock and the largest "Stitched" oval die. Then I die cut a Crushed Curry scalloped oval that was just a bit larger than the Whisper White oval. I taped the two ovals together.  I added Dimensionals to the back and set the oval in place on top of the card.

I took a double pumpkin and a single pumpkin from the kit. I glued the single one to the double one on the left side. While the glue was setting up, I took one of the labels from the kit and stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set using black Memento ink.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the pumpkins and they were set in place on the ovals. The words were taped in place over the pumpkins and the card was done.

Isn't this pretty? I love the colors and the warm and inviting look it has. I was glad I had most of the materials to make this card. It had a cheery feel to it.
