The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of the Cinnamon Cider card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic Black card stock for the back layer and a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Whisper White for the focal piece.
The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "World of Good" 12" x 12" pack. I cut a 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" piece from the map image. This image has gold details that pick up the light so nicely.
I didn't have the Cinnamon Cider ink pad so I was deciding if I should use Soft Suede or Cajun Craze. I ended up using the Cajun Craze, it blended best with the card base. I stamped the globe on the right side of the Whisper White piece. You might want to set the DSP strip on the left to see how much wiggle room you have to stamp your globe. I don't tape my strip in place right away in the event that I make a mistake. It's kind of a given with me. If I tape it I will end up ruining it. If I don't tape it, it turns out fine. I set the Whisper White piece up in the Stamparatus to do all of my stamping. My ink pad wasn't inked up enough so I ended up stamping twice to get the globe dark enough.
The words are from the "Life is Beautiful" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.
After the stamping was done, I taped the DSP to the left side on the Whisper White piece. Then I taped the Whisper White piece to the Basic Black Piece and both were then taped to the front of the card.
There is a fun globe die and I cut one using the gold foil card stock. I didn't have any copper foil card stock. I think it would blend better with the copper details in the DSP but I'm using what I have and it's working out just fine (so far). The dies also have a round one so I cut one of Basic Black card stock. You can do this before you tape the Basic Black to the Whisper White piece or you can use a scrap. I had a scrap so I used that. My scrap is starting to pile up so I thought I'd better use it more.
I affixed the gold globe to the black circle and then set the two in place on the front of the card. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.
This was a very fun card to make and a perfect masculine card. It's great for a masculine birthday, father's day, and the thinking of you card.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit today,
Wanda
