Today I thought I would give the layout I used yesterday another try. I'm not as thrilled with this card like I was with yesterday's card. I'm not so thrilled with the Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I purchased. Sometimes there's really bright, fun, and colorful Halloween DSP but this year there wasn't a big choice. But I went along with it and stuck with the card to the bitter end!
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4
x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black that I first embossed the word "EEK" from the "Ghoulish Goodies" set and white embossing powder. I stamped the words with Versa Mark and then heat set the white embossing powder on it. Then I took the "EEK" stamp and stamped all over the card with Versa Mark. It didn't show up in the photo but it's stamped all over the entire piece.
I cut a 4" x 1-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Magic in this Night" 12" x 12" pack. I also cut a 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Basic Black for the layer. I taped those two together and taped them on top of the card. I colored the DSP with Wink of Stella.
I die cut two circles to make the ring. That was set in place using Dimensionals. I colored the ring with Wink of Stella.
Then I stamped the spider from the "Celebration Tidings" set. I stamped it using black Memento ink. I punched it out using a 1" circle punch. Then I colored the spider in using Wink of Stella. It doesn't show up on the photo but in person it does sparkle. Maybe if you click on the photo you can see it up close. I'll check that out after I post this, it's something I can't do while I'm typing up the post. I glued the spider in place on the ring and the card was done.
I was pretty disappointed in how this looks. It was SO much cooler in my head than on paper. I may have to give this layout a rest, this one burst my bubble!!!
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
