My card today is a very simple one to make.I LOVE the colors and I have had a lot of fun with this stamp set.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
The Highland Heather layer was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I die cut the 2-1/8" circle from the center of this piece.
The Whisper White focal piece was cut at 3-3/4" x 5".
The words are from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I stamped them using Gorgeous Grape ink on Whisper White card stock. I used a scrap piece. I wanted them darker than the other colors but I didn't want them to be black. The Gorgeous Grape is in the same color family so it blended in well. After stamping the words I die cut them out using the second largest "Stitched Shapes" framelits. I moved the words closer to the top of the circle so I had room for the leaf stem and flower. The words were not large enough to fill the circle and centering them looked too blah. You will see that when you set your circle die over the wording.
I took the scrap piece and set it on top of the Whisper White focal piece and lightly traced around it so I could know where to stamp the stems and flowers.
The stems were stamped first using Granny Apple Green ink. I stamped them three times on the focal piece and once on the word circle.
I stamped the flowers using Highland Heather ink. I stamped them once and them stamped again above that flower but I didn't ink it up again. I repeated this between the other two leaves. I also stamped another dark one above the center one and stamped again next to it to fill in that area a little bit more. Most of the spots chosen to stamp were to "fill in" the open areas. I also stamped one flower on a scrap piece of Whisper White. That flower was fussy cut and will be set in place on the word circle.
I taped the circles together. Erased the pencil line with my kneadable art eraser. It's the best eraser you will every buy. It removes the graphite but does not harm the paper. They last a long time too. I cut off pieces of it and roll it into a cone shape and stick it in the end of my mechanical pencil. Those white erasers get hard and brittle. This eraser stays pliable. I highly recommend this eraser. I added Dimensionals to the back of the circle piece and set it in place on top of the area where I erased the circle.
I fussy cut the small flower and used a small Dimensional to set it in place on top of the word circle. I added a tiny pearl to the center of the flower and the card was done. I could add some tiny pearls to the other flowers but I think it would take away from the word piece. I like that my eye is drawn right to the words.
This was a very fun card to make and I had a lot of fun making it. I didn't swear once!!! LOL
Thank you ever SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
