Ornate Style, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

My card today was made using a fun embossing technique. I have not done this technique in a while. I think because it involves the heat embossing tool and for some reason I just don't like using it.  Is it the mess or the chance of burning my fingers?  I don't think so. I think it's because it's across the room and I have to get up to use it!!! LOL  Extreme laziness. I found a card on Pinterest and you can see it here.  There is a link to how to make their card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Cajun Craze card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The focal piece is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Glossy card stock.  I set it on my grid sheet and taped off the sides using some Post It tape. You can also use Post it Notes or Painter's tape. Just be careful with the Painter's tape, it could rip the card stock.

I sponged on the following inks: Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Mango Melody, Calypso Coral, and Cajun Craze.  When I was done sponging, I wiped off the sponged area using a paper towel. Then I stamped the flowers image from the "Ornate Style" set.  I used Versa Mark to stamp it. The tape was removed and then I sprinkled white embossing powder on it and heat set it.

The image was taped to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set. They were stamped on Basic Black card stock using Versa Mark. White embossing powder was sprinkled on it and then heat set.  The word piece was set in place using Dimenisonals.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock was added to the inside using snail tape and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and I really like the looks of it. One of the original cards was done using black ink to stamp the flower. I liked the white look.

Thank you SO very much for taking the time to visit today,
Wanda
