Framed For You, Gorgeous Posies, Thank You Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was found on the internet.  You can see the original card here.  I believe this link will open in a new window.  I'm still working on learning this new Blogger layout.  I'm getting there. It just takes me time because I'm old and not so good at computer stuff.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo card stock and I taped it to the front of the card base.

The Whisper White focal piece is cut 3-3/4" x 5".  I centered the words from the "Gorgeous Posies" set.  I set this up in my Staparatus because I needed to be sure to get it straight and stamped dark enough.  I stamped on a practice piece and I actually got it straight the first time.   I stamped the words using black Memento ink.  Then I cut a 3/4" x 5-1/2" strip of copier paper and covered the words. I centered that strip of copier paper.  I used removable tape to hold it in place.  I also tape the ends of the copier paper down on my stamping surface, I didn't want it to move while I stamped. Just in case I stared to stamp wild!  LOL

I took the daisy flower from the "Framed for You" set and stamped it on the front of the card using Melon Mambo ink.  I think my stamp pad could use some more ink but it's colorful enough so it will pass.

Then I stamped the greens using Granny Apple green ink. This was the part I found the most difficult. I wasn't sure if I was getting enough leaves showing or if I was leaving too much space between the Melon Mambo flowers.  But it's a handmade card, so I just continued.

The smaller flower was stamped using Daffodil Delight ink.  It filled in the open areas nicely.  I taped the focal piece to the front of the card and then added a few rhinestones. I had some left from the "Noble Peacock" rhinestone pack.  And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make.  I would like to try this method using larger flowers.  Maybe from the "Gorgeous Posies" set, it's got a really nice size flower.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
