The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It was scored at 4-1/4".
Then you took a piece of Whisper White that measured 5-1/4" x 8". It was scored at 4" and then 6". You will be folding the piece in half and with the fold on your right, fold the other scored piece towards your right. When you open the card you will have a 4" flat piece on the right, a valley fold and then a mountain fold.
Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that measures 4" x 5-1/4". You will also need two 4" pieces of the DSP that are 3/8" wide each. The DSP is from the "World of Good" 12" x 12" pack.
Tape or glue the DSP to the top part of the front of the card base. You are only affixing the top part because after you cut the circle you will need to keep it. You will need to die cut a circle using the largest 2-7/8" circle die. Save the round DSP piece for a future card, you need to keep the Basic Black circle.
The globe was stamped from the "Beautiful World" stamp set using black Memento ink. It was then die cut with the second largest "Stitched" circle die. Then it was added to the Basic Black circle using Dimensionals. The strips are taped to the bottom inside on the Whisper White pieces. Make sure that you leave a hair between the score lines or your card will bunch up. Tape the long piece on first about 1/8" up from the bottom. Then tape the next piece on and snip it off. Then you will be taping a strip to the small panel. You will have a little bit on the outside edge to trim off.
Take the Whisper White piece and stamp your wording on the large flat side (the left side).
Tape or glue the Whisper White piece to the inside of the Basic Black card base. It's kind of backwards.
Close the card and add the circle, making sure to only glue the right half of it.
You will need to die cut the globe stand using gold metallic car stock. The globe stand is glued on the top part and only the right half of the bottom part. It's placed under the globe.
I didn't have the enamel dots that were mentioned in the video so I used some retired ones I had. They look just fine and I'm able to use some stuff I have on hand.
I don't usually add more than one photo and with the new Blogger I did struggle to get the photos on there right. But I did it!! YAY me. I think I've gotten this new Blogger stuff figured out. Well, I like to think I do anyway! LOL
This was a fun card to make. I'm not big on different folding type cards but I do like this one. Maybe because it looks like a regular card in the front.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to take a look today,
Wanda
You really outdid yourself with this card. Such a clever idea. Great!
