I've almost made it! I have two pieces of the "Ornate Garden" Designer Series Paper (DSP) left. I received them as a gift in a packet for placing an order with Terri. She's always so generous with her thank you gifts. I found this card on the internet and you can see the original card here. I made some changes. You can go to Terri's wonderful blog by clicking here. If you order she will send you some fun papers to play with as a thank you gift!!!
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the "Ornate Garden" DSP that was cut 2" x 5". I taped that to the left side on the Whisper White piece.
I punched out 6 flower petals and glued them together so I had three flowers. I set them aside to set up.
I die cut some gold foil card stock using the "Ornate Layers" die cut. I used the smallest rectangle shaped one. I taped a 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" piece of Old Olive card stock to it. And then I die cut a stitched rectangle using Mint Macaron card stock, it was the long one that came in the same "Ornate Layers" set. I cut it to fit on top of the Old Olive piece. I kept the top and bottom piece. I needed to have the stitched marks. After taping, I cut the entire piece in half. I set the pieces on top of the card but I didn't set them in place.
Next I set the flowers on top of the two pieces and moved them so the opening/gap wouldn't show. I pushed the petals together so the flowers almost stuck to themselves. I was able to pick the three flowers up as one piece. I turned them over carefully and added two small pieces of scotch tape to hold them where I needed them to stay. I added Dimensionals to the back of them.
I took the bottom part of the gold foiled piece and I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" stamp set using black Memento ink.
I took my retired leaf punch and punched out two sets of leaves. I do need to look through my stamp sets to see what I have for small easy to work with leaves. And I need to write it down so I know which set to grab quickly without having to go through all of my sets to find it.
I lined up the gold foil pieces and taped them in place. Then I set glued them to the backs of the flowers. I removed the protective covering on the Dimensionals and I set the flowers in place.
I added some retired "Faceted Gems" to the center of each flower and the card was done.
I liked it that I was able to create the illusion that the die cut piece was longer than it really is. Even after the card was assembled it is very difficult to see that it's two pieces.
This was a very fun and quick card to make. I like the looks of it and I'm thrilled that I was able to use another piece of the "Ornate Garden" DSP!
