I thought it would be fun to play with the "Gorgeous Posies" stamp set. I bought it because I thought the flower and leaves looked like they would be easy to work with. And they are. I made this super simple card using that set.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Rococo Rose card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I textured the front of the card using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.
I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and I put it on my paper cutter, lining up the tips across from each other. I cut the piece in half at an angle. You end up with two triangles.
I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Moments" set using Mossy Meadow ink. Then I taped this piece in place on the card base.
I took the other half of the triangle and I stamped the flower on it and die cut it using the 2-3/16" circle die. I stamped the center of the flower using Melon Mambo ink and the dotted stamp in the set.
Then I stamped two leaves using the leaf image from the "Gorgeous Posies" set and Granny Apple Green ink. I fussy cut the leaves out. I thought about masking the flower to stamp the leaves but then I decided to try something else. I took my x-acto knife and cut a slit on the side of one of the flower petals and then took my snips and carefully cut a long the flower petal. It was just enough to slip the leaf under it. I repeated this for another petal. I set the circle in place using Dimensionals. I made sure part of the Dimensional crossed over to the petal so it held the petal in place on the circle piece.
I colored three rhinestones using the Granny Apple Blends pen and I set them in place on the front of the card.
This was a very fun and quick card to make. I'm not thrilled with it but I don't eye bleach either! LOL
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
