I really like the "Sailing Home" set because it's very versatile. It can be used for most masculine cards you need to make. Here I'm going to be sending a "hello" to my dad's cousin. I think that would make him a second cousin to me. I don't really follow the family tree. Ours has too many nuts in it!!! LOL My dad passed away over 15 years ago and his cousin is still alive. I believe he's going to be 90 or has just turned 90. I don't know if he knows who I am anymore but that doesn't matter to me in sending a card to him. I think about him often and then I send a card.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Seaside Spray and I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Come Sail Away" set. I taped it to the Seaside Spray piece.
The strip of Seaside Spray on the left side of the card measures 5/8" x 5". I taped it to the top of the DSP.
I tied some Baker's Twine around the layers, making sure it was centered over the Seaside Spray strip. I wrapped it twice and tied a knot. I taped the piece in place on top of the card base. The left side kept popping up because of the twine so I ended up gluing the left side. I set a punch along the edge to hold it down until the glue took hold. I should have used Dimensionals. Then I wouldn't have had any problem with the bulk on the card. I should have know that!! I'm not new to stamping!!! LOL
I cut a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Night of Navy and a 2" x 3-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla and I taped the two pieces together.
I took a scrap piece of Very Vanilla and I stamped the lighthouse from the "Sailing Home" set using Night of Navy ink. I used the matching die from the "Smooth Sailing" dies set to cut the lighthouse out. I set the light house in place on top of the Very Vanilla piece using Dimenisonals. Then I taped that panel in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set using Night of Navy ink. I punched them out using the "Classic Labels" punch. I set it in place using Dimensionals.
I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla to the inside of the card and the card was done.
This was a very quick and easy card to make. If you don't have the matching dies, the lighthouse would be easy to fussy cut, there's not a lot of fine in and out edges to it. I can see myself making more of this layout but using it for "Father's Day" and masculine birthday cards. Maybe a retirement card too. I need to use up the DSP because it's retired.
