Masculine cards are hard to come by. Well, ones that have a nice look to them and that are easy to make too. I found this one while surfing the net. I thought it would be great to make it into a Father's Day card since Father's Day is coming up soon. I found the card here but didn't get any information on how to make it, so here's how I did it.
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Early Espresso.
On top of that I taped a piece of Night of Navy that measures 4" x 5-1/2".
The blue striped paper is from the "Come Sail Away" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I taped it to the Night of Navy piece after I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set. The words were stamped using Night of Navy ink.
I die cut the Early Espresso piece using the second largest "Stitched Nested Labels" die and I cut a Whisper White piece using the next size smaller.
I sponged Balmy Blue at the top part of the piece and Night of Navy at the bottom.
I stamped a light house from the "Sailing Home" set using black Memento ink. I sponged some Crumb Cake ink on it and I used the matching die cut to cut it out. I set it on top of the sponged piece so I could see where I needed to stamp the birds. I also needed to know where I had to tie on some Night of Navy with Sahara Sand Baker's Twine. I just wrapped it around the piece twice and tied a knot.
I set the light house in place using Dimensionals and I set the Whisper White piece in place with Dimensionals as well.
I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.
This was a fun card to make and I really like the looks of it. I didn't have all the stamps that were used in the original card, mainly the water and the sky but I worked with what I had and it I think it turned out just fine.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
