I was looking on Pinterest to find a card I could make for an upcoming anniversary. When I saw this card all I could say was "oh my". I thought it was SO pretty. You can see the original card here. I did have to change the background because I didn't own that embossing folder. And the words. The link doesn't take you to any measurements for this card.
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of the card base is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the new "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I taped this piece on top of the card base.
For the layers I used the dies in the "Ornate Layers" set. I die cut two of the long stitched border ones. One for the center piece and one for the words.
All of the dies I used are from the one side of the pack of dies. There's the long dotted edge piece with stitches. That's the one that was used on the far left.
Then the scalloped edge one with does was cut and set on top of the larger die cut piece using Dimensionals.
One of the two long thing stitched border ones was stamped with the words from the "Gorgeous Posies" set using black Memento ink. I cut that piece to 3" long.
The other strip was die cut in the center with the flowers and hearts die. A 3/4" x 3-5/8" piece of Basic Black card stock was glued behind it. You might want to do this piece first and set it somewhere flat to dry while you work on the rest of the card. I set this piece on top of the card to see where the words need to go. But I thought it was hard to do once I removed the strip and added Dimensionals to the back, I lost my line of site there. So I picked a new spot to help me see where to add the word strip. It's just above the two holes after the first scallop part. You don't need to be exact here, up a little or down a little won't make this card ugly at all. I set the word piece in place with Dimensionals on the right and snail tape on the left.
Then I added the center piece using Dimensionals.
I added a gold "Metallic Pearls" to the center of each flower and the card was done.
I need a wedding card this fall (hope they can have the wedding, it's already been moved from April) and this would make a very pretty one for the occasion. I'd just use the same wording too. Hmm, maybe I should just make another one as long as everything is still sitting out! Such a novel idea! LOL
I really do like this card, even with my changes. I still can't justify buying the word embossing folder. I have to go through my folders, some retired and I have not cleaned them out yet. I will be putting all of the things I need to remove from my workroom in my web store. I will let you know when something will be posted there.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by,
Wanda
