Many Layered Blossoms, Blossoms in Bloom, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up! 2020-2021 Catalog

I found a card on Pinterest that used the new "Many Layered Blossoms" dies and "Blossoms in Bloom" stamp set. I am not quite sure what I did wrong but it's not right.  You can see the original car here.  

I didn't have any of the new in colors so I used a piece of Seaside Spray card stock. I used a half-sheet for the base of the card. I folded it in half.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of  Seaside Spray card stock and I textured it using the "Subtle" embossing folder.

I die cut the larger image using vellum and the thinner image using Whisper White card stock.

I glued the Whisper White piece to the vellum piece.  This is where I may have gone wrong.  The link above doesn't show how the card was made.  I don't feel like I nailed it here!!!

I glued the two layers to the top of the embossed piece and I taped the 4" x 5-1/4" piece to the card base.  

The words are from the "Blossoms in Bloom" set. I stamped them using Versa Mark ink on Basic Black card stock. I sprinkled the card stock with white embossing powder and I heated it up.  I trimmed the piece to 3/8" x 2-1/4".  

I took a piece of retired ribbon that complimented the card stock and folded it in half. I taped the piece together to hold that fold.  My ribbon measured 6-1/2".  

I took some linen thread and wrapped it around the embossed piece three times.  Then I set the ribbon in place using glue dots.  I added Dimensionals to the word piece and set it in place on top of the ribbon. 

I taped the 4" x 5-1/4" piece to the card base. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card and it was done.

I didn't add any gems to the outside because I couldn't find them. I will probably add some pearls once I dig them out of the pile of stuff on my worktable.  I need to do a little cleaning in there! Yikes!!!

I'm thinking that maybe the vellum piece was set in place using Dimensionals and the Whisper White piece was taped only on the flower centers.  I don't know but I think I may try another style card using this set and see what I get.
