I placed my order today from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog. But I still have to find something to play with until the order arrives. I found this card on Pinterest and I thought it was so cute. I figured I had most of the stuff to make it, so I went for it!
The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
I cut the Basic Black piece was cut 2-1/8" x 3-1/8" and the Gorgeous Grape gingham piece 2" x 3". I taped the two pieces together and I set them on the front of the card base using Dimensionals. Don't do this. Build on your rectangle and then put it on the front of the card when you are done. I had to remove mine. It looked like it was too far over. I had centered the gingham piece and after it was all put together it looked off center.
I die cut the second largest "Stitched" circle using Basic Black card stock. I taped the left side of it to the gingham. It's about 1/2" from the left side and centered from top to bottom.
I stamped the flowers from the "Daisy Lane" set using Gorgeous Grape ink. I stamped and punched out four of them. I used the "Medium Daisy" punch for that. I was hoping that Stampin' Up! would have come out with a "Small Daisy" punch. Wouldn't that be fun? Anyway, I glued two punched flowers together to get a nice full daisy. I set them in place with a large Dimensional in the middle of each.
I punched out the leaves using Old Olive card stock and the "Leaf" punch. It's retired now and I need to go through my stamp sets to see what I have for leaves. I liked having the leaf punch, it was quick and easy. I punched three sets of leaves and I also punched out two sets using Vellum. I glued the ends of these to the card. They were tucked under the flowers.

I didn't have the word set either so I took out my "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and I stamped the "Happy Birthday" on Basic Black card stock using Versa Mark. I sprinkled white embossing powder and I heat set it. I trimmed it to 1/4" wide and 1-7/8" long. I also cut a Whisper White strip 3/8" wide by by 2" long. I added Dimensionals to it and slipped it under the petals but yet had it hang over the left side a little. I think it worked out well. It's got the white border and black background with white words. It works for me! Making do with what you have! I don't like embossing for some reason. I just haven't figured it out. It turns out just fine. It's not really all that messy. I used the embossing buddy so the embossing powder didn't stick where I didn't want it to. I just can't figure it out. When I do I'll let you know!!! Don't lose any sleep over it!!! LOL
I added clear faceted gems to the center of the flowers and the card was done.
It's SO darn cute!! I love this layout and I think I'm going to have to display it in my workroom so I can see it and maybe make another card using this layout.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,

Pretty card today. I also follow Carolyn King. I love the daisies and the gingham DSP. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI like yours better because it has the darker lavender color. I may have to case your card.
