This card is a bit "interesting" to say the lease. I wanted to play with the new "Stitched Triangle" dies. And I wanted to use up some more of the "Ornate Garden" Designer Series Paper (DSP). They were a gift from Terri. I have two pieces left.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
On top of that I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crushed Curry. I was going to texture it but I decided I wanted to stamp words on it so a texture would make that task more difficult.
I die cut the Whisper White triangles with the largest longer triangle dies. I cut three.
Then I die cut the DSP using the second largest long triangle die. I taped them to the Whisper White triangles. And I taped those to the front of the card. I liked up the top piece and the bottom piece first. I made sure the corner of the triangle touched the corner of the Crushed Curry piece and also lined up the edge of the Whisper White piece to the Crushed Curry piece. I repeated that for the top piece and then I added the middle piece.
I stamped the flowers from the "Daisy Lane" set using Crushed Curry ink. I stamped two large ones and four small ones. I glued two together, turning the petals so the filled in the spaces. I added a retired faceted gem to the center of each flower. You can stamp another flower and punch the center out and use it for the center of the flowers.
I was sad that the leaf punch was retired and I haven't really looked at my stamp dies to see which ones would have some fun leaves to use. But I did remember the "Sprig" punch was not retired so I punched two of them using Old Olive card stock.
I stamped the words at the bottom left using the "Free as a Bird" set and black Memento ink.
I added the flowers using Dimensionals and I added the sprig leaves using snail tape. And the card was done.
It was a fun card to make but I am not thrilled with the look. It seems a bit too busy for me.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
