Isn't it funny how you play with these sets and have fun with them and then the new catalog comes out and all of a sudden these aren't that fun anymore? Well, that was how I felt today playing with this set. And I LOVE playing with this set. I'm just anxious for my order to come but in the meantime I have to play with what I have. I didn't order as many sets as I usually do for a couple of reasons. I didn't have a garage sale this spring due to the pandemic so I didn't get rid of stamps or get money for new ones. And I don't spend enough time on each set I buy before it retires, so this time I seriously took a look at what I wanted and what I was going to buy so that I could find sets that were versatile and that I'd get enough use out of them to justify the cost of them. My order was half of what I used to spend. SO there's a start!!! Now onto my card.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock. I cut a piece of Whisper White that measured 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I cut a 1-3/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Gingham Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" Brights collection. This paper is now retired but I don't have anything new so I'm going to use this. And I don't think I bought the new papers because I didn't care for the designs. I also cut a 1-1/2" x 5-1/8" piece of Old Olive card stock for the layer.
I stamped two flowers from the "Daisy Lane" set using Coastal Cabana ink. I punched them out and glued them together. I set them aside to set up.
I took the Whisper White piece and I took my Coastal Cabana marker and I flicked the tip of the brush part off the edge of the cap to create the splatters.
I taped the DSP and Old Olive piece together and I set them on top of the Whisper White to see where I needed to stamp the leaves from the "Daisy Lane" set. I stamped those leaves using Old Olive ink. The top leaves were stamped by inking the image once and stamping twice. The bottom leaf is just solid ink, not stamped off.

I stamped the words from the "Butterfly Wishes" set using black Memento ink.
I wrapped some white Baker's Twine around the gingham strip. I took two pieces of twine and tied them in a knot and then the bow was tied. Each piece was about 20" long. It's a bit longer than you need but it's better to have too much than not enough. I taped the strip to the Whisper White piece and I taped the piece to the Coastal Cabana piece. And then that was taped to the card front.
I added a Dimensional to the glued daisies. I set them in place on the front of the card. I added a faceted gem to the center of the flower. I believe those are now retired too. I found some retired enamel dots and I set them in place on the card. Rhinestones can be used and they can be colored using the Blends Pens.
This was a fun card to make and I do still like this set very much.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
I love this beautiful daisy card, Wanda. I agree with you about being more discerning in which stamp sets I buy. I'm a hobbyist demonstrator with five customers and keep all my retired items. I go shopping in my own stash (lol) and find sets I have never used. The pandemic has been a great time to try new sets and techniques. I admire your honest assessment. Enjoy your day!
