Wonderful Moments, Wedding Card, Bridal Shower Card

Did you ever go looking for card samples on the net and then run across one that you didn't even know how you got there?  I have done that a lot lately. One card leads you to another and another and the next thing you know you're SO deep into the internet you wonder if you've reached the end!!! LOL  Well, today's card was like that.  Though I did save the link so I wasn't totally lost. It was such an elegant card that I thought I would give it a try. I was a bit disappointed though, there were no measurements, so if you want to make one, you may want to use mine or you can work out your own. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I took my 1-1/4" circle punch, turned it upside down and inserted the bottom right corner in the backside of the punch and punched the corner.  Let me explain this more clearly.  You have the punch upside down so you can see the metal on the back.  Insert the corner of your card stock between the blades of the punch.  You are not punching a whole circle, you are just going to clip the corner.  I lined up my corner between the 3 and 6 o'clock position.  I didn't like the very side edges of the partial circle, so I cleaned them up with my scissors.  I repeated this for the top left corner.

Next I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Smoky Slate card stock. I embossed it using the "Ruffled" embossing folder.  It's a retired folder but I kept it because I like it.  Any embossing folder will work, you just need some texture on that piece of card stock. Once it was embossed, I cut it to 4" x 5-1/2" and I rounded the corners, the same corners as the card base has.

I took a 2-7/8" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and I stamped the image from the "Wonderful Moments" set using black Memento ink.  I colored it in using my Blends Pen. For the body, I used the Ivory pen. For the flowers I used the light Rich Razzleberry pen. For the hair I colored it in first with the light Daffodil Delight pen and then colored in some highlights with the dark Daffodil Delight pen.  And I colored the bow on the back of the dress with the light Smoky Slate pen.  I rounded the corners.

I cut a 3" x 3-7/8" piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock and I rounded the corners. 

I taped the Whisper White stamped piece to the Rich Razzleberry piece. Then I taped that to the Smoky Slate piece and finally, I taped it all to the card base.

I stamped the words from the "Wonderful Moments" set using Smoky Slate ink.  I punched it out with a 1-3/8" circle punch. 

I took a 2-1/2" piece of the white silver edged ribbon and I taped the ends together.  I taped it to the circle and then I taped the circle to the front of the card.  

I cut a 3" piece of the dotted organza ribbon and I folded it in half and put some snail tape on it to hold that fold. I added some more snail to the backside and set it in place on the brides head. And that was it.

It's not a difficult card to make, especially if you have all of the measurements. And now you do too!
