Once again I pulled out my "Perennial Essence" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and grabbed a piece of scrap to make my card. I have several small pieces in the pack and it's nice when you can use them up.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.
On top of that I have my DSP layer. The DSP measures 4-3/4" x 1-1/2" and the Blackberry Bliss card stock measures 5" x 1-3/4". You can make your width to whatever your scrap measures. You might have to move the words up a bit but I'm sure you can make it work. Or if your piece is thinner, you can make that work too!
I taped my two pieces together and I set it on the card to see where my wording was going to go. I set up the "congratulation" from the "Peaceful Moments" set on my Stamparatus. Then I stamped them using Rich Razzleberry ink. I thought Blackberry Bliss would be too dark. And now I see that the Rich Razzleberry is very dark too. I could have just used black ink. But there is a bit of color in the wording, so I guess it worked out enough!
I taped the DSP layered piece under the words.
I stamped the image from the "Witty-Cisms" set using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock. I colored the hat in using the light Blackberry Bliss Blends pen and then I added a little dark Blackberry Bliss to the top left piece and under the brim and then I colored again with the light to blend the two colors in. Doing this you don't get that sharp line between the first color and the second.
After coloring, I die cut the second smallest "Stitched Circle". And I die cut a scalloped circle just a little bit larger than the stitched circle. I used Blackberry Bliss card stock for that. I taped those two pieces together and I set them in place on the card using Dimensionals. And the card was done.
This was a very quick and easy card to make and you get to use up some of those pieces of scrap you thought would sit in the package forever or until you recycled them thinking they were too small and you'd never do anything with them.
I do like how this card looks and I'll be adding it to my graduation card stash. I have no need of any this year but I'm sure there will be some for next year.
Thank you SO very much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
This is a very sweet graduation card. I love ways of using my scraps. Be well. Enjoy your day!
